Other Characters

    Jinx

Jinx

A former supervillain and ex-member of the Hive Five, Jinx is a young woman with the ability to directly manipulate probability and bad luck. She has since been attempting to go straight, and is even dating Kid Flash, one of her former enemies, but she'll still dabble in petty crime now and again.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: Helps the Titans deal with the HIVE Five for a night before returning to Central City.
  • Official Couple: While only mentioned, she's dating Kid Flash.
  • Reformed Criminal: Like in the Teen Titans cartoon, she has defected from HIVE, although she's still not allowed to wander off freely without supervision.
    • Reformed, but Not Tamed: Confessed to sometimes stealing candy before she leaves. Currently unknown if she meant it, or was simply trying to get a laugh from Raven.

    Terra

Tara Markov

A former member of the Teen Titans with the ability to manipulate the earth itself, Terra was a member of the Teen Titans long before RWBY and JNPR arrived on Earth. But rather than being a genuine superhero like the rest of her teammates, Terra was actually an apprentice to Slade Wilson, Deathstroke, and her betrayal nearly destroyed the entire team in the event known as the Judas Contract.
  • Ambiguous Situation: It hasn't been elaborated on how her version of the Judas Contract went, what she did and if she redeemed herself, or even if she's still alive.

    Danny the Street
A sapient street who feeds off of positive emotions of those who live on him.
  • Emotion Eater: Danny explicitly feeds on the happiness of those that reside within them. As such, the Grimm's negative energy is very discomforting for them.
  • Genius Loci: They’re a sentient street that can control almost anything about their own structure.
  • Nice Guy: Always nice and welcoming to both their residents and visitors.

    Halo

Violet

A young Afghan girl found in a mass grave by Luke Fox while on patrol in Afghanistan, Violet had lost all of her memories after getting shot through the head. She was somehow able to resurrect, and with her resurrection gained the ability to form various halos, each with different colors and effects such as levitation, healing, and the ability to shoot fire from her hands, among others. She now works directly with Luke and ARGUS to uncover her past and master her new gifts to help those in need.
  • Amnesiac Hero: Due to her traumatic brain injury, Violet has nearly completely lost her memories of her life prior to her resurrection.
  • Appropriated Appelation: Gains the name "Halo" from soldiers she helped, and decides to make the moniker her own.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Violet has the ability to shroud herself in different colored aura, or halos. Each halo provides her with a different ability.
    • Violet: Allows her to heal others and herself, as well as granting resurrection should she die or get to the recently deceased. The latter has limitations, though. She only has a window of a few minutes to revive someone and, if the body is too heavily damaged, there won't be anything she can do to bring them back.
    • Red: Encases her in a force field that also protects her from high heat. She can also generate heat beams from her hands and levitate.
    • Indigo: Telekinesis.
  • Composite Character: Uses the powers of her comic book incarnation while having the appearance and personality of her Young Justice (2010) incarnation.
  • Healing Factor: Has a meta-gene that allows her to regenerate from otherwise fatal injuries. She can also heal others, and if she gets to them soon enough and they still have an intact body, even bring people back to life.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: She's a teenager and befriends the adult Luke Fox.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Due to being shot in the head, she doesn't remember anything, not even her original name.
  • Line-of-Sight Name: Since the aura that healed her wounds was colored violet, that's how Luke decided to name her.
  • Light Is Good: Has light-based powers and is generally a good person.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Has completely forgotten everything about her old life, including her name. As such, she now goes by the name Luke Fox gave her, Violet.
  • Race Lift: Was White in the comics, but as with her Young Justice (2010) self is brown-skinned and Middle Eastern.
  • Soul Power: It's implied that her ability to revive the recently dead works by literally drawing the soul back into the body as she heals it.

    Adrianna Tomaz

Adrianna Tomaz

A former university professor turned freedom fighter, Adrianna Tomaz had fought for years to liberate her home country of Khandaq from the oppressive dictatorship that ruled it, bringing her directly into the path of Black Adam when he was freed from his imprisonment.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: Asks Black Adam how he will be any different from all the other "liberators" who claimed they were there to free the people of Kahndaq from tyranny, only to become tyrants themselves. To his credit, Black Adam seriously contemplates his answer before responding.
  • Rebel Leader: Leads a rebellion against the cruel dictator of Kahndaq in an attempt to liberate her people. Before the Grimm attacked, they had made some progress, but overall the entire country was locked in a deadly stalemate.
  • Staring Down Cthulhu: While Black Adam is far from being an Eldritch Abomination, he is by all definitions a living god. While everyone else in the immediate vicinity bowed down in reverence, including her soldiers and the villagers they were defending from the Grimm, she remains standing face to face to Black Adam.

    Peacemaker

Christopher Smith

A former diplomat turned vigilante, Peacemaker loves nothing more than peace, and is willing to cross any lines in order to enforce it. While he has no powers of his own, and his personality is offputting to many, he is a skilled marksman and fighter, and his various helmets have different abilities of their own, all of which he uses to deadly effect.
  • Action Politician: Used to be a diplomat before he decided to become a superhero.
  • Badass Normal: No powers, just lots of skill and training.
  • Composite Character: His appearance and personality are a combination of his The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker (2022) portrayal with his backstory from the comics.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: While his skill and tactical ability are indeed great, his obliviousness and lack of self-awareness means most of the team doesn't like him or are put off by his zealousness.
  • Innocently Insensitive: As noted by Luke Fox, Smith doesn't come off as an arrogant douchebag intentionally, but his lack of self awareness is what makes him rather obnoxious.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While he might be a bit of a firebrand, even Luke, a believer in Batman, has to admit that Christopher has a point that nobody would complain if Batman killed the Joker during a fight. And that some people are Beyond Redemption.
  • The Mentally Disturbed: Even Violet can tell Smith is not mentally well due to his single-minded and extreme view of bringing peace at all costs, plus his belief that the souls of those he killed are now inside his helmet.
  • Self-Made Orphan: Like in the comics and the TV series, Chris ended up killing his own father in self-defense.
  • TV Never Lies: Like in the series he has difficulty differentiating actual facts from random rumors he reads about on the internet.

    Katana

Tatsu Yamashiro

Tatsu Yamashiro used to be just a simple Japanese girl with a proficiency in martial arts. But following the death of her beloved husband, she took up his sword, Soultaker (which has the ability to absorb the souls of those killed by it, including her late husband) and embarked on a path of vengeance against those who took him from her, and later the entire criminal underworld. She now works directly with Colonel Rick Flagg as part of ARGUS, attempting to stop the spread of Grimm by those who seek to exploit them, such as the League of Shadows.
  • Badass Normal: Other than her sword and skills, Katana has no powers.
  • Does Not Like Guns: She prefers to just use her sword in most situations without considering to use firearms.
  • Master Swordsman: Described as one of the deadliest swordsmasters in the world.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite her general stoic and professional demeanor, she does starts trying to one-up Peacemaker in telling the most badass story of how they dealt with a bad guy.
  • They Call Him "Sword": Her codename is Katana and she wields one.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: Thanks to her Soultaker katana.

United States Government & Military

    Amanda Waller

Amanda Waller

As the Director of the Department of Extranormal Operations, Amanda Waller directly commands the clandestine penal unit Task Force X. Ruthless and uncompromising, Waller prioritizes the security of the United States and its interests above all else and exhibits few scruples in executing her duties.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Has a tendency to abandon her "allies" mid-fight.
  • Everyone Has Standards: She may be willing to sacrifice soldiers to gain data on how to best fight the Grimm, but using fear gas to provoke a slaughter is another thing entirely.
  • I Know Your True Name: Not only is she very much aware of the origin of RWBY and JNPR, she also knows the secret identities of several heroes.
  • Insult Backfire: When Yang calls her a bitch, she answers she's The Bitch.
  • The Needs of the Many: Has no moral qualms about sending soldiers into likely certain death against the Grimm to gain more data on how to best fight them.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: She nominally wants to keep the world safe, but she takes lots of extreme measures to do it.

    Luke Fox

Lt. Lucas "Luke" Fox

A young platoon leader and Lucius Fox's son, Luke finds himself embroiled in international conspiracies above his pay grade when the Grimm Crisis escalates in the worst way possible.
  • Badass Bookworm: An MIT graduate and trained soldier who wants to be Batman one day.
  • Badass Normal: He doesn't have any powers nor is a superhero (yet), but he's still a very smart man with the rank of Lieutenant in the US army.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Quickly develops a protective steak towards Violet.
  • Fanboy: Not exactly Fanboy, but he really admires Batman and joined the army as a sort of thank you for helping Gotham when no one else could.
  • Heroic Willpower: While certainly not immune, he manages to keep his mind clear enough to know what he was seeing due to the Fear Gas wasn't real, through sheer willpower alone.
  • It's Personal: Vows to make whoever was responsible for the attack on his base and the subsequent deaths of his fellow soldiers pay.
  • Non-Idle Rich: He was born to one of the more influential and wealthy families of Gotham, yet chose to serve in the army and ascend through the ranks due to his own merits.

    Steve Trevor

Steve Trevor

An American intelligence officer from the First World War, Trevor's crash-landing on Themyscira marked the end of the Amazons' total isolation from the rest of Earth and the impetus for Diana becoming Wonder Woman. More than a century after his death, Diana still fondly remembers him and everything he taught her.

    Rick Flagg

Col. Rick Flagg Jr.

The commander of the DEO's Advanced Research Group United Support (A.R.G.U.S.), Colonel Flagg has been tasked with leading the investigation and response to the escalating Grimm Crisis. Though a loyal soldier and a patriot, his moral qualms towards Waller's more questionable activities put him at odds with his superiors.
  • Colonel Badass: His rank is colonel, and while he doesn't have any powers, he's still a capable leader and soldier.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Unlike Eiling, Flagg isn't enthusiastic at the thought of sacrificing soldiers in order to test their combat capabilities against the Grimm.
    • He's also uncomfortable with the idea of teen heroes, and doesn't like Waller making him take Violet in for training, saying that if he had any say in it he'd send her to witness protection.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: He's not very enthusiastic at working with Wade Eiling and his callousness towards the soldiers under their command.
  • Token Good Team Mate: Between Waller and Eiling, Flagg finds himself pulling double duty as a moral backbone and voice of reason.

    Wade Eiling

Gen. Wade Eiling

A high-ranking general in the US Army, General Wade Eiling wants nothing more than to see his country maintain its preeminence in the world, and isn't afraid to sacrifice lives to do it.
  • General Ripper: Unlike Rick Flagg, Eiling has no problem sending soldiers to their possible dooms in order to test their capabilities against the Grimm.
  • My Country, Right or Wrong: Quickly comes to believe that the Bagram Air Base attack was the work of the League of Shadows rather than a traitor, and Luke believes that even if there was any hard evidence of it being the latter, he'd have ignored it rather than believe that someone could betray the U.S. like that.

Metropolis

    Lois Lane

Lois Lane

A Pulitzer Prize winner and the star reporter of the Daily Planet, Lois Lane has broken many stories that have shaken the fabric of life both in her home city of Metropolis as well as the world at large. There is nothing that'll stop her from breaking a story, whether it's trekking into an active warzone or interviewing supervillains; Lois Lane isn't deterred by anything. But it is her relationship with her coworker and fellow reporter Clark Kent that connects her to a world far beyond anything she could've imagined.
  • Amicable Exes: She and Bruce Wayne briefly dated, finding out he's Batman on the way. They remain on good terms, if a bit awkward.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: She deduced that RWBY and JNPR are the people who came through the Boom Tube with relative ease.
  • Damsel out of Distress: Villains might try to take her hostage, but she's more than capable of putting a fight if they try.
  • Dating What Daddy Hates: She is in a relationship with Clark Kent or Superman himself. Her father, General Samuel Lane, on the other hand, was a staunch anti-Superman who believes him to be a threat to America.
  • Death Glare: Can actually glare Batman into silence when need be.
  • Disappeared Dad: Her father Samuel Lane sacrificed himself during the Battle of Metropolis at the climax of the Darkseid War.
  • Intrepid Reporter: As always, Lois is always there to report major news involving super-heroes alongside her cameraman Jimmy Olsen. She even managed to figure out an illegal chemical dumping scheme by ACE Chemicals before Batman could.
  • "L" Is for "Dyslexia": Lois has struggled with dyslexia her entire life, not that it stops her from being one of, if not the, greatest reporters in the planet. It does lead to her making frequent spelling mistakes when writing, which wouldn't be a problem if she used spell check, much to Blake's endless frustration and exhaustion as much of her job is correcting Lois' numerous spelling errors.
  • Official Couple: With Clark Kent/Superman, who works with her at the Daily Planet.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Knows that Superman is, in actuality, her boyfriend Clark Kent, but Clark himself doesn't know that she figured it out. She wants him to tell her rather than her admit she knows.

    Jimmy Olsen

James "Jimmy" Olsen

A photographer working for the Daily Planet alongside his best friends Clark Kent and Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen might not be as brave or intrepid as his friends but there's no greater ally than anyone else.
  • Action Survivor: Unlike Lois, Jimmy doesn't have that much skill in fighting, but his resourcefulness and friendship with Superman helps him remain safe.
  • Muggle Best Friend: He's Clark Kent's best friend.

    Perry White

Perry White

The chief editor to the Daily Planet, Perry White is a no-nonsense and rough individual who works his employees to the bone as they maintain the reputation of the most prestigious newspaper in the world. But behind his gruff exterior lies a man absolutely dedicated to exposing the truth, making him a valuable ally in the fight for justice.
  • Da Editor: Chief Editor at the Daily Planet and the one who ensures it remains one of the most prestigious newspaper in the world.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Clark describes him to Blake as a hard-case and works his people to the bone, but is good man deep down.
  • Race Lift: Much like the DCEU, he's African-American.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He might give his employees a hard time, but he's pretty reasonable otherwise and only wants his employees to remain in top shape in order to remain as good journalists.

    Cat Grant

Catherine "Cat" Grant

A fellow reporter at the Daily Planet, Cat Grant is one of Lois Lane's dear friends.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: Mistakenly believes that Blake has a crush on Clark when she catches her staring at him. In reality, Blake has figured out that Clark Kent is actually Superman in disguise.
  • Race Lift: Being based on her incarnation from the DCAMU, instead of a blonde caucasian, she's a dark-skinned brunette.

    Mayor Brown

Mayor Henry Brown

The mayor of Metropolis, Henry Brown used to be nothing more than a simple T-Rex who was brought to the present following an experiment at S.T.A.R. Labs going haywire. But when another experiment happening concurrently gave him human-level intelligence, the apex predator peacefully joined modern society and eventually ran for mayor, a position he holds to this day by the beloved public he serves.
  • Action Politician: Mayor Brown is a Tyrannosaurus rex who eagerly joins the battle during a temporal cascade to help his citizens and live out the good old days hunting other dinosaurs.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: He was accidentally pulled from the late cretaceous period by a S.T.A.R. Labs experiment. While he's adapted greatly after his upliftment, he does remark how nostalgic he felt during the temporal cascade when more dinosaurs were running amok through Metropolis.
  • Half-Dressed Cartoon Animal: When performing his duties, Mayor Brown is dressed in a top hat, a monocle, and a vest covering the top half of his body, with no further clothing for his lower end.
  • Landslide Election: By virtue of being a sapient dinosaur running for office, Henry Brown won the election handily, in part because opponents were too afraid to run against him.
  • Meaningful Name: He took his name from the two paleontologists who discovered and classified his species in the current era, Henry Farfield Osborn and Barnum Brown.
  • Uplifted Animal: A time-displaced Tyrannosaurus rex that was given sapience and human speech upon his arrival in the present.

Gotham City

    Catwoman

Selina Kyle

A master thief, Selina Kyle is a complex individual who straddles the line between good and evil almost every day. Her relationship with the Bat-Family, particularly its patriarch Bruce Wayne, is similarly complex. But although she cannot be called a hero by any stretch of the imagination, and her own self-interest trumps almost all else, when the chips are down you can count on her to do the right thing.
  • Betty and Veronica:
    • The Veronica to Diana's Betty for Bruce's Archie. Ironically, Bruce considers Selina to be the safer option.
    • In the past, she was the (relative) Betty to Talia's Veronica for Bruce's Archie. She technically 'won' that one after Bruce learned Talia raped him and kept their son away from him for ten years, killing all hopes of a relationship between them.
  • Character Name Alias: Gives the name Irena Dubrovna when sneaking into the Iceberg Lounge. Irena Dubrovna is the name of one of the main characters of Cat People, specifically being woman cursed to turn into a cat if she ever gets intimate. A cat woman, if you will.
  • Classy Cat-Burglar: She always steals with as much class as possible.
  • Dating Catwoman: She and Bruce continue to have an on-and-off relationship with each other, much to the entertainment of his wards and mild annoyance for the Batfamily.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Although jerk may be overextending, Selina Kyle is an out and proud thief who's not above using others to get what she wants. She even used Blake, Batwoman, and Yang as a distraction during their infiltration of the Iceberg Lounge in order to steal from the Penguin. But, when Yang was put into a very serious confrontation against Bane and Penguin's goons, she immediately revealed herself to the other two and helped lead them towards Yang in order to save her.
  • Love Triangle: Used to be in one with Talia in competition for Bruce. These days Diana has replaced Talia.
  • Weapon Specialization: She carries her signature whip.

    Commissioner Gordon

James Worthington "Jim" Gordon

Commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department, at one point Jim Gordon was practically the only honest cop on the force. But thanks to his years of hard work and his at-times tense relationship with Batman, Gordon has been able to rise up through the ranks and clean up the force protecting the citizens of Gotham from some of the worst supervillains and criminals in the world.
  • The Commissioner Gordon: Well, he's the trope namer for a reason.
  • Friend on the Force: Close ally of Batman and the Batfamily.
  • Papa Wolf: He would have killed the Joker for paralyzing Barbara hadn't Batman gotten to the clown first and put him in a coma for three months.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: It's implied that he's aware that Barbara's a vigilante but he prefers to let her think he still doesn't realize it.

    Harvey Bullock

Det. Harvey Bullock

The former partner and right-hand man to Commissioner Gordon, Detective Bullock isn't a fan of superheroes on principle. But if it means protecting the people of Gotham and bringing in the scum that threaten its people, he'll put up with it while complaining under his breath.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's quite rough around the edges, but he's an honest cop and an ally of Batman.
  • Number Two: He's Commissioner Gordon's closest associate and unofficial second in command at GCPD.

    Renee Montoya

Det. Renee Montoya

The current partner to Detective Harvey Bullock, Renee Montoya is another honest cop the people of Gotham City can count on.

    Maggie Sawyer

Cap. Maggie Sawyer

The leader of the GCPD Major Crimes Unit, Captain Maggie Sawyer is the one they call to deal with some of the most dangerous supervillains plaguing Gotham City.
  • Badass Normal: Like most of Gotham's police officers, she's just a regular human whose job is to catch insane, or gimmicky villains.
  • The Captain: Of Gotham's Major Crimes Unit.

    Lucius Fox

Lucius Fox

A trusted ally to Bruce Wayne and the current CEO of Wayne Enterprises, Lucius Fox may not have any powers of his own nor any interest in fighting. But with his wealth and intelligence, he outfits the Bat-Family and their allies with the latest and greatest in crime-fighting gear, even personally designing many of the pieces of equipment Batman keeps in his utility belt.
  • Honest Corporate Executive: He has been leading Wayne Enterprises for years in a beneficial and ethical way, making it the second most successful in the world.
  • Nice Guy: He's friendly and quite easy to get along with. Weiss sees him as the opposite of her father Jacques.
  • Secret-Keeper: Aware of Bruce's secret identity and helps him whenever he's asked.
  • Worthy Opponent: Lex is impressed with Lucius for managing to foil his attempts at corporate espionage.

    Nora Fries

Nora Fries

The loving wife of Victor Fries, Nora Fries came down with Huntington's Chorea, a terminal illness for which there is no cure. In order to prolong and eventually save her life, her husband placed her into cryogenic suspension, setting him on the path that would turn him into the infamous Mr. Freeze.
  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: Victor admits her kindness was what made him come from his shell, becoming friends, later lovers and finally spouses.
  • Damsel in Distress: Kidnapped by people working for Daniel Powers, leading to her husband to attack GothCorp trying to rescue her, killing several people in the process.

    Vicki Vale

Vicki Vale

A star reporter for Gotham City News, Vicki Vale is second to perhaps only Lois Lane herself when it comes to dealing with Earth's growing superhuman community, and second to none in her hometown of Gotham City.
  • The Cameo: So far she has only been seen doing a TV report on Scarecrow's terror attack.
  • Intrepid Reporter: She's Gotham's very own journalist who reports on vigilante and villain activity.

Krypton

    Jor-El

Jor-El

The chief scientist for the planet Krypton and father to Kal-El, in the twilight years of his planet Jor-El discovered a horrifying truth: after years of exploitation, Krypton's core was about to collapse and destroy the entire planet. When his warnings to the Science Council went unheeded except by his dear friend General Dru-Zod, who attempted a desperate coup that failed, Jor-El did the only thing he could: he put his infant son onto a rocket and sent him away to Earth, where he would grow up under the care of the Kent Family and become perhaps the greatest hero the universe had ever seen.
  • Cassandra Truth: His discovery and warnings that the exploitation of Krypton's core was making it dangerously unstable went completely unheeded.
  • Death by Origin Story: He's been dead for decades. A hologram based on his memories helps Clark on occasion.
  • Defector from Decadence: When he and Lara Lor-Van had their child, Kal-El, they did it the natural way instead of doing the typical Designer Babies that their society both expected and demanded. Had Krypton survived, they would've been executed for heresy.
  • Interclass Friendship: Was genuinely friends with General Dru-Zod who was the only one to take his warnings about exploiting Krypton's core for resources seriously. Their friendship ended, along with Jor-El's life, when Zod made his desperate coup attempt on the twilight days of Krypton's existence.
  • Oh, Crap!: His avatar has this reaction when Superman asks him about Brainiac.
  • Science Hero: In life, he was Krypton's best scientist who used his discoveries for the benefit of his people.
  • Virtual Ghost: While he himself is long dead, Jor-El left a copy of his memories inside his son's escape craft. Inside the Fortress of Solitude, his memories are able to coalesce into an artificial intelligence through which he can speak to and advise his son when needed.
  • We Used to Be Friends: He and General Zod were once good friends, until Zod attempted a coup which led to him killing Jor-El.

    Lara-El

Lara Lor-Van | Lara-El

The wife of Jor-El and mother to Kal-El, Lara-El wanted nothing more than to raise her son. But with the planet about to be destroyed, she reluctantly sent him away to safety, perishing along with the rest of her planet when its core collapsed.

Themyscira

    Queen Hippolyta

Hippolyta

The legendary queen of the Amazons and mother to Wonder Woman, Queen Hippolyta has ruled the Amazons for thousands of years, both before and during their exile from Man's World. Thanks to the actions of her beloved daughter, Hippolyta has finally brought the Amazons back into the wider world to try and become a stable force for good.
  • The High Queen: Has ruled Paradise Island for thousands of years, and remains well loved and respected by her people.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: She's the queen of Themyscira, and quite capable of fighting alongside her daughters and all the other amazons.

    Antiope

Antiope

Sister to Queen Hippolyta and aunt to Wonder Woman, Antiope is second-in-command to all who call Themyscira their home.
  • The Cameo: Only briefly seen and mentioned alongside the other Amazons.
  • Number Two: Towards her sister Hippolyta.

    Artemis of Bana-Mighdall

Artemis

The greatest fighter of the second Amazon city of Bana-Mighdall, Artemis is second only to Wonder Woman herself when it comes to Amazon fighting prowess. Following the Darkseid War, Bana-Mighdall was destroyed, and both she and the rest of her people rejoined their sisters on Paradise Island.
  • Fiery Redhead: Has long red hair and is considered the best fighter in Themyscira after Diana.
  • Worthy Opponent: Comes to see Pyrrha as one for giving her such a fight during the Tournament.

    Io

Io

A gentle blacksmith who forges many of the weapons and equipment used by the Amazons to defend their home.
  • The Blacksmith: Io is one of the best smiths in all of Themyscira.
  • Gentle Giant: She's taller and more muscular than the average amazon, but she's pretty nice and non-confrontational.

Fabletown

    Bigby Wolf

Bigby Wolf | The Big Bad Wolf

The Big Bad Wolf of countless legends and fairy tales, Bigby Wolf has since settled down, married Snow White, and become the sheriff of Fabletown. Charged with protecting all the Fables that call Fabletown their town, he was brought into the path of Team RWBY following the Queen of Fables' escape from her imprisonment.

    Snow White

Snow White

The deputy mayor to Fabletown and wife to Bigby Wolf, Snow White is far from the damsel in distress that she's often depicted as in fairy tales. Instead, she is a capable warrior in her own right, one who's not afraid to fight those who threaten her home and loved ones.

    Prince Charming

Prince Charming

A pathological womanizer, Prince Charming is the former husband to Snow White.
  • The Ghost: Mentioned by Bigby but didn't appear in person.
  • Handsome Lech: Bigby describes him as a womanizer, and he's the Prince Charming.

Mystery Incorporated

    In General
  • Composite Character: They're mainly based on their Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated incarnations, but also borrow elements from other incarnations of Scooby-Doo. To be exact, they're the post-Mystery Incorporated incarnations, after they defeated the Nibiru entity and reset their universe.
  • Merged Reality: They're actually from another universe that was originally separate from the main DC Universe depicted in the story. According to Word of God, it just so happened they reset their universe at the same time the Flash undid Flashpoint, causing the universes to merge and integrating Mystery Incorporated into the DC Universe.
  • Paranormal Investigation: Mystery Incorporated runs a Destination Truth and Expedition Unknown-style webshow where they record themselves solving their various mysteries. Only difference is that, instead of trying to prove the various paranormal activities are real, they're trying to debunk them.
  • Travelogue Show: The first half of their webshow's episodes typically consist of them exploring the various locales they find themselves in. This is Shaggy and Scooby's favorite segment as it gives them an excuse to eat everything as they review the local restaurants.
  • You Meddling Kids: The Ur-example, of course, with the captured criminals often calling them that as they're being taken away.

    Fred Jones

Fred Jones

The de-facto leader of Mystery Incorporated and owner/driver of the Mystery Machine, Fred Jones is a young man with a deep passion for two things: creating traps and solving mysteries with his friends. While his traps may not always work as intended, his tireless enthusiasm for solving the unknown proves infectious to all who know him.
  • Dumb Blond: Averted. Fred is actually very intelligent, particularly when it comes to solving mysteries and building traps, the latter of which he's very enthusiastic about.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Fred's desire to solve mysteries stems from both a genuine love of solving them as well as an attempt to help the innocent.
  • The Leader: Of Mystery Incorporated, a position that actually allows him and Jaune to bond over shared responsibilities and burdens.
  • Let's Split Up, Gang!: Often suggests this towards the start of their mysteries to cover more ground and find more clues, such as when Mystery Incorporated and Team JNPR/Penny team up to solve a mystery in Providence, Rhode Island.
  • Nice Guy: Fred genuinely doesn't have a bad bone in his body.
  • Oblivious to Love: Used to be, at the very least. According to Daphne, while they may be dating now it took him forever to pick up the signs she was sending him.
  • Trap Master: Fred always comes up with traps and other plans in order to catch monsters. He doesn't even mind when Shaggy and Scooby mess with them at times, since it helps him come up with new ones for the next mystery.

    Daphne Blake

Daphne Blake

Daughter of the wealthy Blake family, Daphne Blake is both Mystery Incorporated's chief financier and their de-facto second-in-command. She works tirelessly to solve any mystery that comes their way, while also making sure she looks good, too.
  • Character Catchphrase: She says "Jeepers!" when surprised.
  • Composite Character: Based primarily off of the Mystery Incorporated version of the characters as well as other series, including Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? and The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, among others.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: She still doesn't like being called "Danger-Prone Daphne".
  • Number Two: Second-in-command of Mystery Incorporated, often stepping into the role of leader should Fred be either incapcitated, away, or otherwise indisposed, such as when he and Velma took a summer off to go to summer camps leaving her, Shaggy, Scooby, and Scrappy to handle Mystery Incorporated.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Alfred Pennyworth is her uncle much like in Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Daphne grew up in a very rich family, but rather than let that turn her into a Rich Bitch, she's an absolute sweetheart who solves mysteries with her friends both for the love of them and to help others. Her family even provided the seed money to turn Mystery Incorporated into a legitimate business.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The girly girl to Velma's tomboy.
  • Uptown Girl: Her boyfriend, Fred, is from a standard middle-class family while she is from a very rich family.

    Velma Dinkley

Velma Dinkley

The resident bookworm and amateur forensic scientist, Velma Dinkley is far and away the smartest member of Mystery Incorporated. With a near encyclopedic knowledge of forensic science and an insatiable curiosity, it is often Velma who pieces together the various clues that solves whatever mystery is on their hands.
  • Agent Scully: Downplayed. She does acknowledge the presence of the supernatural in a post-Darkseid War world, but she refuses to believe that the mysteries they're solving are anything other than guys in masks unless absolutely proven otherwise.
  • Amicable Exes: Used to be in a relationship with Shaggy, and despite breaking up since then they still consider each other one of their best friends. She does admit, though, that spending her post-breakup summer at camp away from Shaggy helped tremendously.
  • Bespectacled Cutie: Is fairly attractive in a nerdy way, even comparable to Daphne herself.
  • Blind Without 'Em: Should she lose her glasses, her ability to see is thrown completely out the door.
  • Book Smart: Thanks to her love of reading books and the internet, Velma is quite knowledgeable about many things.
  • Character Catchphrase: As is usual, she says "Jinkies!" when surprised.
  • Last Het Romance: Her failed relationship with Shaggy in high school is one of the things that led to her realizing she was a lesbian.
  • The Smart Guy: While all of the members of Mystery Incorporated are intelligent in their own right, Velma is a step above them. She even began piecing together that Team JNPR and Penny are more than they claim to be fairly quickly after noticing holes in their story.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The tomboy to Daphne's girly girl.

    Shaggy Rogers

Norville "Shaggy" Rogers

The owner of and best friend to Scooby-Doo, Norville "Shaggy" Rogers wants nothing more than to fill his insatiable appetite and solve mysteries with his friends, even if he is scared very, very easily. But while he may be a cowardly glutton, at his heart lies a true friend who'll do anything to help the ones he cares about. Even if he needs to be given some motivation every now and again.
  • Amicable Exes: With Velma. Despite their relationship not working out, the two remain best friends.
  • Big Eater: His appetite is only rivaled by Scooby's and puts even Nora's to shame. It's speculated by his friends that it might be the result of a metagene, though they have never bothered to get him tested and see if that's truly the case.
  • Character Catchphrase: As always, he yelps "Zoinks!" when surprised or scared.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Fred claims he and Scooby are this when Ren asks why the rest of Mystery Incorporated let them stay on the team when they're so easily frightened by everything. Also according to some comment replies by the author, it's likely that his status as possibly one of the most powerful beings in the universe limited only by his fear may have its time to shine.
Fred: "Because when the chips are down, they're nothing that can stop those two."
  • The Drag-Along: He's easily scared and so while he does enjoy investigating mysteries, he often has to be convinced to join the more... adventurous parts of the gang's investigations.
  • Embarrassing First Name: Prefers to go by Shaggy rather than his actual name, Norville. When Penny calls him by his first name, he's actually taken aback.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Can and will eat almost anything that is edible.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Scooby-Doo. Luckily, Scooby will live as long as Shaggy will thanks to his family's metagene, meaning their time together won't be cut short anytime soon.
  • Like Is, Like, a Comma: He tends to use "Like" frequently in his speech.
  • Lovable Coward: Shaggy gets scared very, very easily, but is still a friendly person who's easy to get along with.
  • Never Gets Fat: Despite eating so much food all the time, to the point where he frequently and literally balloons up from all the food he's eaten, Shaggy is remarkably skinny.

    Scooby-Doo

Scooby-Doo

A talking Great Dane and best friend to his owner, Shaggy, Scooby-Doo is the unofficial mascot and most famous member of Mystery Incorporated. A cowardly glutton by heart, Scooby is scared of almost everything, especially the various monsters, real or not, they come across during their mysteries. But when the chips are down, there is nothing that Scooby won't do to help his friends.
  • Adaptational Explanation: His ability to speak is because of a metagene that runs in his family. Said metagene also gives him the same lifespan as a normal human, and may or may not be the source of his insane appetite.
  • Big Friendly Dog: Scooby is a Great Dane, the largest dog breed in the world, but is generally an easy-going and loving dog to everyone.
  • Cowardly Lion: Scooby is very easily frightened, but should you actually threaten one of his friends, he'll take you down without hesitation.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Fred claims he and Shaggy are this when Ren asks why the rest of Mystery Incorporated let them stay on the team when they're so easily frightened by everything.
Fred: "Because when the chips are down, they're nothing that can stop those two."
  • Comfort Food: Scooby Snacks serves as these, with him often getting bribed into doing something by being given one or more of the dog treats.
  • The Drag-Along: Often has to be convinced into solving a case, typically by being offered a Scooby Snack.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Can and will eat almost anything that is edible. Justified thanks to his family's metagene, allowing him to eat anything a human can, including things that would normally be toxic to a dog such as chocolate.
  • Heroism Incentive: While he may try to refuse solving a case, once offered one or more Scooby Snacks he happily lends a paw.
  • The Nose Knows: He is a Great Dane, after all. Scooby's sense of smell is so acute he can tell, to his horror, that Penny's never eaten anything in her life(unaware that she is a gynoid).
  • Speech-Impaired Animal: Of course! It's Scooby-Doo!
    Scooby: Rawg? Where?

    Scrappy-Doo

Scrappy-Doo

Scooby-Doo's young nephew, Scrappy-Doo temporarily joined Mystery Incorporated when they were asked by his mother, Ruby-Doo, to look after him for a summer. Although he proved himself to be an eager and tenacious puppy who wanted to genuinely help his beloved uncle and friends, his overzealous attempts led to problems with the team at large.
  • Character Catchphrase: Would charge into danger while yelling "Puppy Power!"
  • The Ghost: Is only mentioned rather than seen.
  • The Scrappy: Downplayed. When Scrappy was brought up, the rest of Mystery Incorporated winced and admitted that Scrappy, although initially a welcome member of the team who helped them solve many mysteries, eventually proved to be problematic. According to them, Scrappy's attempts to help proved overzealous and he attempted to take on more and more tasks that the other members of Mystery Incorporated normally handled, essentially trying to make Mystery Incorporated about him, nearly destroying the team's dynamic. Luckily, after the adults looking after him took him aside and had a mature conversation with the rambunctious puppy, Scrappy sincerely apologizes before going back home. He's since gotten a lot better, and they have teamed back up with him on occasion.

Pets

    Krypto the Super-Dog

Krypto

A Kryptonian dog, Krypto was just a young puppy owned by the El Family who become a test subject by Jor-El to see if it was safe to put his yet-to-be-born son, Kal-El in the rocket that would later save his life. But although the test was a success, Krypto was tragically lost to space before being found decades later in cryogenic suspension by a now adult Superman. Together, he and Kal-El are the last survivors of Krypton, and although he doesn't always take to the field alongside his beloved owner, he's no less motivated to protect the world he now calls home.
  • Action Pet: He's a superpowered dog and Superman's pet.
  • Animal Superheroes: He's a white dog with all the powers of Superman.

Ace

A German Shepard, Ace the Bat-Hound protects the people of Gotham City alongside his owner, Batman. Although hie has no powers of his own, he is a well-trained canine capable of bringing down even the toughest criminals.
  • Action Pet: While he doesn't have powers, Ace is quite good as a training partner for the Batfamily.
  • Badass Normal: Unlike Krypto, Ace is just a regular dog, but very smart and very well-trained.
  • Heroic Dog: He's a great dane who helps the Batfamily.

    Bat-Cow

Bat-Cow

A dairy cow rescued from slaughter by Damian Wayne, she now lives out her days on the grounds eating grass and being tended to by Damian himself.

  • Fuzz Therapy: He's more or less become Beacon Academy's emotional support animal since the bottling.

Deities and other Entities

Remnant

    The Brothers

The Brother of Light and Brother of Darkness

The creator gods of Remnant, not much is known about the Two Brothers. All that is known is spoken of in legends and myths, detailing how the Brother of Light would always create and the Brother of Darkness would jealously destroy what his brother had created. After countless eons of sibling squabbling, it is said the Two Brothers came to an agreement and eventually created the humanity that called Remnant home.
  • Absence of Evidence: Its thanks to them that nobody knew about Remnant in the first place. Having hidden it so well, not even the Guardians of the Universe knew about it.
  • Greater-Scope Paragon: They are the source of both the Grimm and Silver Eyes. While not involved in the story much less playing a role, their gifted powers can be seen in Ruby, the Grimm, and the remnants of Remnant.
  • Power Source: Ruby's eyes comes from the God of Light, which are linked to the Life-Equation.

New Genesis

    Highfather

Izaya

Leader of the New Gods of New Genesis, Highfather is perhaps the only reason why the tyrannical Darkseid hasn't taken over the multiverse. Under his control, the forces of New Genesis stand as a bulwark against the endless armies of Apokolips, allowing for life and free will to flourish.
  • Big Good: To the New Gods of New Genesis, being in opposition to the tyranny of Darkseid.
  • Parental Substitute: Raised Orion like his own son, and Orion grew up to be a true, if brooding, hero.

Olympus

    Zeus

Zeus | Jupiter

King of the Gods of the Hellenistic Pantheon and father to Wonder Woman, Zeus is the Greek sky and thunder god. From his seat atop Mount Olympus, Zeus is the most powerful god of the Hellenistic World, assigning the divine roles that all other Hellenistic gods abide by.
  • Back from the Dead: According to Ares, he eventually came back after the former killed him, helping Hippolyta give birth to Donna. This later explained as being due to Christianity adopting his image for their depictions of God, granting him a form of indirect worship.
  • Irony: As noted above, the very same religion that supplanted his worship and was indirectly responsible for his initial downfall, was equally indirectly responisble for his revival.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: It's mentioned that being forced to Wander The Earth, alone and at a fraction of his power for millennia, waiting for the other Olympians to reconstitute, has caused him to mellow out.
  • Top God: He's the head of the Greek Pantheon, and one of the most powerful Old Gods in existence.

    Aphrodite

Aphrodite | Venus

The Hellenistic goddess of love, Aphrodite is perhaps the most beautiful of the Greek gods who has an, at times, almost unhealthy obsession with the love lives of mortals.
  • Everyone Has Standards: As much as she loves playing The Matchmaker with the Remnantians, there are some lines she won't cross. One year she made it so that everyone who set eyes on Ruby fell in love with her, but those who are already in a relationship or family members were unaffected, to everyone's relief.
  • Hot God: She's Aphrodite, so of course she practically embodies beauty.
  • King Incognito: Ren and Nora don't realize they're talking to an actual goddess while at Themyscira's market.
  • Love Freak: She goes all lovey dovey when it's Valentine's Day, something shared by her son Eros.
  • Love Goddess: She is the Goddess of love, and like all Greek goddesses, very venerated by the Amazons.
  • The Matchmaker: Every Valentine's Day, Aphrodite instructs her son Eros to spread the love and create romantic relationships. Ever since they came to Earth, the Remantians became Aphrodite's latest obsession as she seeks to pair them up and cut through the Unresolved Sexual Tension.
  • Serious Business: On Valentine's Day, Aphrodite's shipping is everything to her. And if she finds what she thinks is the golden standard, she'll stand by it. While having an epiphany about all the possible ships between the Remnantians, Diana noticed she hasn't paired Ren or Nora with anyone but each other. Aphrodite looks scandalized by the statement and claims the Renora ship is "sacred".
  • Shipper on Deck: She even identifies herself as a shipper and tries to get the RWBY and JNPR pairings going. She even asks Wonder Woman if she wants help with either Superman or Batman, which she politely refuses.

    Ares

Ares | Mars

The Hellenistic god of war, and arch enemy to both Wonder Woman and the Amazons, Ares believes that mankind is a plague upon the Earth. As the Greek god of war, he strives to spread conflict among mortals with the aim of having them destroy themselves, or at least cull their numbers significantly. Ares was responsible for the initial death of the Hellenistic pantheon in the fourth century, only to be killed himself over a thousand years later during the First World War by his half-sister, Diana. Much like the rest of the Hellenistic Pantheon, he has since returned to the land of the living following the fiery end of the Second World War, where he continues his quest to destroy mankind for good.
  • Back from the Dead: While he was killed by his sister during WWI, he eventually came back along with the rest of the Greek Pantheon.
  • Deal with the Devil: Defied when he first meets Salem - he decides against turning Salem to his side because a. he knows that she hates gods and b. she's already doing what he wants for her own reasons.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: A source of conflict in the world, and a master manipulator to drive others to fight. He can be foiled, but as demonstrated when he shows up on Themiscyra, he can't exactly be fought right now.
  • Humans Are Bastards: Tries several times to convince Diana that "Man's World" corrupts everything it touches. He even uses an Amazon traitor who was raised in the outside world as an example of this.
  • Not Me This Time: He might have been the one who gave Dr. Poison's formula to the Scarecrow, but he admits it wasn't him who opened the gates of Tartarus, being unable to directly affect Themyscira.
  • War God: He's the Greek god of war, and he loves conflict.
  • Villain Takes an Interest: He's fascinated by the Grimm and admits that he is a fan of Salem's work which irks the immortal witch because of her contempt for Gods.

The Endless

    Death

Death of the Endless

The literal embodiment of Life and Death, Death of the Endless is known by all, even if they don't know it. She visits people when they are born, and when they die. It is through his dynamic that she has stricken up a friendly relationship with the reincarnating being known as Oz, whom he visits every time he dies and waits to reincarnate.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: The personification of Life and Death, and she manifests as a pale, black haired woman.
  • Don't Fear the Reaper: She's the representation of death, and she's always welcoming and accommodating. She even has a polite conversation with Pyrrha while she's in the House of Mystery.
  • Pals with Jesus: Gets along well with Oz, since he's one of the few people who have met her more than twice.
  • Perky Goth: Dresses in a gothic style of the 1980s, but she's friendly and welcoming.
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: Looks like a beautiful woman with bone-white skin and raven black hair.
  • Time Stands Still: Whenever she interacts with mortals, time stands completely still.

Others

    The Presence
An all-powerful and omnipotent being, The Presence is a entity that is far beyond any mortal, or even divine, comprehension. The closest that anyone is able to come to understand him is as the God from the Abrahamic Religions, but even that is only a fraction of what The Presence is. The Presence is the source of power for many of the most powerful heroes on Earth, including The Spectre and The Phantom Stranger.
  • God: He's the closest to the God from the Bible on the DC Universe, existing much higher than other deities.
  • Time Abyss: Unlike other deities which came to be alongside their believers, The Presence has existed for far longer.
