Main Characters

    The Protagonist / Ryūsei Fudou
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gunpla_ryusei.png
"I-I'll give it all I've got!"
Voiced by: Kensho Ono

The main protagonist of the game. Introduced as a second-year student of Soukai Academy, he has a chance encounter with schoolmate Sana Miyama that eventually results in him joining the school's Gunpla Club and becoming its ace fighter. His canonical name is Ryūsei Fudou.

  • The Ace: For the Soukai Gunpla Club in general. Although relatively new to the sport, Ryūsei is quick to adapt to Gunpla Battle and becomes a leading ace fighter and champion all within a year.
  • Ace Custom: Aside from the custom units that players can create, Ryūsei canonically has three.
    • The first is Gundam Artemis, a custom unit derived from the Destiny Gundam and Gundam X. It originally lacked the Gundam X’s Satellite Cannon making it no more than a standard Gundam. Ryūsei would later add the Satellite Cannon himself during his amnesia.
    • The second is the Gundam Areus, an upgraded Gundam Artemis now sporting the Destiny Gundam's wings and sporting parts derived from the Gundam Double X and Gundam F91.
    • His third and current unit is the Gundam Helios, an upgraded Gundam Areus now also sporting parts derived from the Freedom Gundam and Unicorn Gundam. It was introduced in Gundam Breaker Battlogue, and unlike the Artemis and Areus which were both built by Ren's mother Ran, the Helios is the first unit of the Artemis line that Ryūsei himself has crafted.
  • Beam Spam: Capable of pulling this off with the Palma Fiocina cannons where Ryusei unleashes a barrage of blasts at the opponent. This is taken further with the Gundam Helios' Sestet Cannon where it unleashes the Palma Fiocinas, the Plasma Beam cannons mounted on its wings, and Twin Satellite Cannon on its back simultaneously.
  • BFG: A common feature of each of Ryūsei's main suits in the story is the Satellite Cannon.
  • BFS: Artemis uses the Destiny Gundam’s Arondight Anti-Ship sword as its primary melee weapon, which is as tall, if not taller than the Artemis itself. Areus on the other hand uses two of the same sword and they are joined at the hilts. The Helios trades the Arondight in for the DX's hyper beam saber for similar effect.
  • Blue Is Heroic: All of his Gunpla have blue as part of their color scheme, and he's the main protagonist of the game.
  • Canon Name: Initially known as "The Protagonist", until material from Gundam Breaker Battlogue and the ONA itself revealed his canonical name to be Ryūsei Fudou.
  • Clueless Chick-Magnet: Sana, Rindo, Yuri, and Ren all show varying degrees of attraction towards Ryūsei though he fails to notice. It's also implied that he's popular with the female students at Soukai Academy in general, as one of his friends reveals that, after he went to a party with the rest of their classmates, the girls were all disappointed that Ryūsei himself didn't attend due to work and it's noted they all had a ceasefire agreement to prevent one of them from taking the initiative to give Ryūsei their chocolates.
  • Covert Pervert: Outside of dialogue options that can have Ryūsei express interest in the girls around him, Chapter 19 has him inadvertently reveal that he actually visits adult websites on the internet.
  • Dangerous Forbidden Technique: In a desperate situation, Ryūsei can enter a mental state called Mei Kyo. In this state he has heightened concentration, allowing him to fight on par with Tatsuki but the strain on his body is immense. He was however able to effectively use it throughout all his matches in the All-Japan Gunpla Championship despite this. Mei Kyo functions in a similar fashion as the Assimilation phenomenon from Build Fighters Try.
  • The Gadfly: Dialogue options show that Ryusei likes to tease his friends from time to time.
  • Hot-Blooded: He rarely passes up a chance to compete in Gunpla Battle.
  • Naïve Newcomer: To Gunpla Battle in general although he's quick to pick it up.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Currently, all three of Ryusei's Gunpla are named after deities from Ancient Greek mythology.
    • The Gundam Artemis is named after Artemis, a Greek goddess of the moon. The name is likely in reference to the mech's design base, the Gundam X.
    • The Gundam Areus is named after Ares, a Greek god of war.
    • The Gundam Helios is named after Helios, a Greek god who was considered the personification of the sun.
  • Silent Protagonist: Due in part to being an avatar for the players. Despite this, the game has a selection of dialogue options that indicate what kind of person Ryūsei is and he actually does speak during in-game battles as well. This is fully averted in Gundam Breaker Battlogue however where he speaks in full.
  • Trauma-Induced Amnesia: Played for laughs during Chapter 10. Ryusei ends up suffering amnesia throughout most of the chapter and it's initially speculated to be a result of Nao crashing into him by accident. It's later revealed that the actual cause of the amnesia was Ryusei and company getting lost on the mountain itself, meaning he's been amnesiac since the first day much to the surprise of Sana and the others.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: His primary Gunplas all feature the Gundam X's Satellite Cannon as mentioned above. The Artemis has one like the original X (though it wasn't part of the original design and was only added in during his amnesia), the Areus has the twin satellite version mounted on its backpack, and the Helios maintains those twin cannons...while also packing in twin wing-mounted Plasma Beam Cannons and a pair of Palma Fiocina Palm Cannons.
  • The Worf Effect: Was easily beaten by Tatsuki Hijiri in their first encounter offscreen. The player later gets to experience the battle themselves but from Tatsuki's perspective instead. Ryūsei has been obsessed with a rematch with her ever since, eventually defeating her in Chapter 20.

    Sana Miyama
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gunpla_sana.png
"Okay, so here's the deal. I, um... I need you. Let's be partners."
Voiced by: Rie Takahashi

A member of the Soukai Academy Gunpla Club. While on the lookout for a partner for a tournament, she stumbles upon Ryūsei and quickly recruits him. By Chapter 15, she takes over as the Gunpla Club's new captain after Rindo's graduation.

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Sana has green eyes, but the overall shade of them varies. In-game they have a grayish hue to them whereas in Gundam Breaker Battlogue her eyes are a bright green color instead.
  • Ace Custom: She has a total of over four custom units canonically (she once tried to handle the Artemis but struggled with it).
    • The first is the Gundam Dianthus which is comprised of parts derived the Strike Gundam and Gundam X Divider.
    • The second is the Sanakapool which is a heavily modified Kapool.
    • Her third unit is the Gundam Valkyrie, derived from the second Gundam Areus unit that Sana received and heavily customized with parts from the Gundam F91, Shining Gundam, and the 00 Qan[T].
    • Her fourth and current unit is the Perfect Strike Freedom first seen in Gundam Breaker Battlogue. It's a heavily modified Strike Freedom that was made to resemble and function like the Perfect Strike Gundam instead.
  • All for Nothing: Played for Laughs during the Gundam Origin event where she and Ryusei take part in a competition in order to win tickets to go to theme park together. Despite winning against the likes of Rindo, Yuri, and Ren, it turns out that Ryusei lost during the first round on the men's side and the winner was Ono much to Sana's disappointment. Fortunately for her, Ono gives his ticket to Ryūsei which allows them to go on their trip as planned.
  • Battle Couple: With Ryūsei. Sana considers herself as his partner and the two work well with each other. Outside of the Sanakapool, most of Sana's Gunpla acts as compliments to Ryūsei's own Gunpla due to similar parts and abilities used between them. While they're never confirmed to date, many of the player's dialogue choices are flirtatious, and when Ono teases them about "workplace romance" she admits that she isn't against the idea.
  • Beam Spam: Similar to the base model, the Perfect Strike Freedom is capable of pulling this off with its "Perfect Full Burst" wherein it unleashes all of its laser firearms upon the enemy.
  • Can't Catch Up: How she feels in regards to her friends especially Ryūsei, Touma, and Rindo. It takes building the Sanakapool and finishing second place at the beach tournament for her confidence to be restored. Afterwards, she begins performing quite well and keeps up with her friends in battle.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Sana's often shown displeased when it looks like people are trying to interfere with her alone time with Ryūsei during certain events. She also takes issue with anyone trying to take her place as Ryusei's partner from her. When she thinks Ran is trying to during the 3rd Valentines event, Sana quickly becomes agitated and states that Ryūsei is her partner.
  • Cool Big Sis: Towards Mizuki, being quick to defend her when Tsukumo was harassing her and being quite supportive in helping her overcome her fear of Gunpla Battle.
  • Distaff Counterpart: Her Gundam Valkyrie is essentially this to the Gundam Areus, being based off the second Areus unit that Sana received but modified to her tastes.
  • The Engineer: Although not as skilled as her friends in Gunpla Battle, Sana's noted to be an excellent builder nonetheless with her Sanakapool even winning an award for best build during its debut. She's also able to take the second Gundam Areus unit that she was given and proceed to remodel its parts into the entirely new Gundam Valkyrie.
  • Genki Girl: She's quite energetic and gung-ho about everything Gundam and Gunpla related.
  • He Is Not My Boyfriend: Sana regularly gets mistaken for Ryūsei's girlfriend which she frequently has to deny.
  • Hidden Depths: It's revealed in Chapter 8 that she used to draw manga in her spare time prior to getting into Gunpla Battle. Ryūsei can ask her to show him her old works only for Sana to refuse out of embarrassment.
  • The Illegible: According to Ono, Sana has terrible handwriting.
  • Overshadowed by Awesome: While not a terrible fighter by any means, Sana is often overshadowed by her more talented peers which actually causes her confidence to plummet for a while. She eventually has her confidence restored and keeps training so that she doesn't get let behind by her friends.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: Sana has pink hair and is very much a kindhearted girl. Her Gunpla also tend to be painted pink as well.
  • Super Mode: The Gundam Valkyrie's S.A.N.A. mode which increases the Valkyrie's overall performance when activated.
  • Ship Tease: With Ryūsei whom, despite her denials, Sana has an obvious crush on. Both the "Phantom Project" and "Jade Sniper" events focus on the two of them going on dates during New Years and the "Emerald Expanse" event focuses on Sana trying to give Ryūsei a gift for Valentine's Day. Should the player choose Dialogue Tree options that are flirtatious or coy, she'll respond in a flustered but receptive way most of the time. In particular, if the player chooses to hug her after their first major win in Story Mode, she'll let out an excited "EEP!" with a happy look on her face.

    Touma Aizen
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gunpla_touma.png
"One person with real talent is worth more than a hundred lollygaggers who'd just show up to mess around."
Voiced by: Yuki Ono

The captain of the Gunpla Club at Soukai Academy. Introduced as a second year student at Soukai, he's friends with both Ryūsei and Sana and helps both hone their skills as Gunpla Battlers. However, after he receives a potential sponsorship for a pro-contract, he ends up transferring to Gokusode High and from thereon serves as their rival.

  • Ace Custom: Much like Sana, Touma currently has a total of four custom units.
    • His first unit is the Kaiser Buster, a Gunpla derived from the Buster Gundam and the Jesta Cannon.
    • His second unit is the Code Phi, a modified G-Self with parts derived from the Banshee Gundam. Touma began using this unit after he transferred to Gokusode High, but it would later be confiscated after he breaks his contract with Yotsuba Electric in order to prevent leakage of the illegal built-in support AI they installed from getting out.
    • His third unit is the Gundam LiveLance Heaven, a Gunpla derived from the Gundam Deathscythe Hell and Gundam Virsago. This unit was introduced in Gundam Breaker Battlogue. In Chapter 18 of the game's Story Mode, he explains that he "sealed it away" as it didn't fully match his fighting style. In Chapter 20 it's revealed he eventually gave it to Rindo.
    • His fourth and currently main unit is the Code Sora, a Gunpla which uses the Code Phi's design as a template while also taking elements from the Gundam LiveLance Heaven that he liked.
  • Always Second Best: Towards Ryūsei. Although he starts out more experienced, Ryūsei quickly overtakes him in skill and consistently ends up defeating him throughout the story.
  • Birds of a Feather: With Rindo. Both of them are fairly serious individuals and are Gunpla Battlers aspiring to reach the top. They're even sometimes seen hanging out together during certain events.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He has a little brother and sister, both of whom look up to Touma greatly as he helps take care of them whenever his mother isn't available.
  • Covert Pervert: Though he tries to downplay it, it's obvious that he's delighted to see Sana, Rindo, and Yuri in swimsuits during Chapter 7. Ryūsei can even call him out on it.
  • Dark Is Evil: Well, not actually evil per se, but he does become more antagonistic, and his unit during that period was the Code Phi which has dark grey and black as part of its colour scheme. He lightens up after Chapter 14 and throws this trope out the window with his newer machines which has brighter colours.
  • Honor Before Reason: Chapter 14 of the Story mission. His would-be sponsor gives his Code Phi the illegal AIS AI support system to give it an edge against Ryūsei. Guess what he does? He doesn't use it at all and loses. His irate sponsor then calls off the company's deal with him in response.
Touma: Because I had something to protect. [...] The thing I had to protect was my pride!
  • Light Is Good: The Gundam LiveLance Heaven and Code Sora in general. Both symbolize Touma's resolve after he fully breaks away from Yotsuba Electric's after he refused to cheat in order to win against Ryūsei.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite how he presents himself, Touma also tends to get just as excited over Gunpla related matters as everyone else and often partakes in silly activities with the rest of his friends. He also shows interest in girls and bemoans his own lack of a girlfriend during the 3rd Christmas event.
  • The Rival: To Ryūsei after he transfers schools.
  • Sinister Scythe: His Code Phi he used when battling Ryūsei before it got confiscated keeps the Deathscythe's signature scythe. The LiveLance Heaven's lance can also transform into a scythe.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: His attitude takes a turn for the worse when he decides to transfer schools, treating both Ryūsei and Sana rather coldly especially when they finally reunite during the inter-high national tournament in Chapter 6. He eventually does lighten up again after Ryūsei defeats him in the finals and becomes proper friends with both once more.

    Rindo Kuzunoha
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gunpla_rindo.png
"You have the ability; all you lack is faith in yourself."
Voiced by: Kana Yuuki

A third-year student at Soukai Academy and pro-fighter in Gunpla Battle. She was formerly a member of the Gunpla Club and even served as its Captain during her second year. However, a certain incident resulted in her leaving the club which also caused many other members to leave as well. After Touma transfers to another school, she returns to aid the Gunpla Club and serves as its captain once more until her graduation.

  • The Ace: She's smart, beautiful, learns how to sing well, and is a pro-fighter in Gunpla Battle as well.
  • Ace Custom: The Enzian, a custom Gunpla built by combining selected parts from the Force Impulse Gundam and the Wing Gundam. During Chapter 20, she received a new gunpla in the form of the LiveLance Heaven which she received from Touma as gift.
  • Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: Though friendly at heart, Rindo can come off as somewhat standoffish at times and can be particularly cold when people annoy or disappoint her.
  • Birds of a Feather: With Touma. The two behave in a similar fashion when it comes to their interests in Gunpla Battle and they're also shown to hang out from time to time similar to Ren and Yuri.
  • Brutal Honesty: Rindo never fails to mince her words, especially when giving critique to those around her.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She's implied to be quite jealous when she catches Ryūsei and Sana on a date during New Years.
  • Ditzy Genius:
    • Although intelligent and talented in many fields, Rindo is shown to lack common sense at times. For example she doesn't know how to use a train and had to get help from Touma to get around town during one event. Same thing happens again during the Gundam Breaker Battlogue tie-in event in-game where it's shown she failed to attend GB Fest in time as she once again had trouble using the train and failed to realize she could've just called a taxi.
    • On another note, she almost got held back in school because of how she kept failing to attend classes. She wouldn't have even noticed until it got pointed out to her by her teachers at Soukai.
  • The Dreaded: For the members of the Soukai Gunpla Club in general. No one wants to get on her bad side less she intensifies her already demonic training regiment. Even Tsukumo quickly realizes he should not cross her once he sees how scared Ryūsei and Sana are of her. It's also revealed that part of the reason she didn't get held back was because she essentially glared at the teachers until they finally gave her a chance to graduate.
  • Drunk on Milk: All it takes is some juice of all things to leave her inebriated.
  • Held Back in School: Although a straight A student by nature, Rindo regularly missed classes due to Gunpla related matters and thus she failed to achieve enough credits to graduate from school. It's narrowly averted in the end when the school allows her to graduate on the condition she participates in the All-Japan Championship which would count as credits thanks to Rindo being a member of the Soukai Gunpla Club.
  • Idol Singer: Not at first, but after she overcomes her singing problems, part of her routine includes recording new singles and singing in front of crowds.
  • In the Blood: Her father is a pro-builder and her mother's a pro-fighter in Gunpla Battle.
  • Lethal Chef: Implied in this Valentine's Day 2022 artwork where Rindo is seen attempting to make some chocolate.
  • Noodle Incident: The incident that caused her leave the Gunpla Club, and subsequently caused most of its original members prior to Ryusei's joining to leave, is never really elaborated on. The only thing the story reveals is that Rindo blames herself for it although former members such as Manaka believe everyone was at fault one way or another.
  • Not the Intended Use: The Gundam Livelance Heaven was built to use as a CQC Mobile Suit. Rindo however uses it in same exact way she used the Enzian, in long range combat with the same weapon load out.
  • Pungeon Master: Rindo is a sucker for lame puns and often repeats unintentional ones made by others. Sana even calls her a punster.
  • Purple Is Powerful: The Enzian’s color scheme is a two toned lavender color and in Rindo’s hands it can stand toe-to-toe with her underclassmen’s various high performance Gunpla despite her never moving to a newer one herself. After receiving the LiveLance Heaven, she appropriately gives it a new paint job to suit her tastes.
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: She's distinguishable through her long dark hair and is considered a natural beauty to boot.
  • Ship Tease: Much like Sana and the other girls, Rindo also has a crush on Ryūsei.
  • Unknown Rival: She unwittingly becomes this to Tatsuki. Despite training together with the rest of her friends in preparation for their potential matchup against the former, it's revealed that Tatsuki doesn't even remember having fought Rindo in the past much to Rindo's frustration.
  • Training from Hell: Rindo's preferred method of training much to all her friends dismay.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: Her Enzian's Buster Rifle which is capable of powerful blasts of energy. She keeps it even after switching over to the LiveLance Heaven.

    Ren Kotomori
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gunpla_ren.png
"You can all believe what you want, but I'M going to be the next national champ."
Voiced by: Saki Fujita

A first-year student from Denive Girls Junior College and the daughter of Tomori Enterprises' president. She had a reputation for going undefeated in Gunpla Battle until her first defeat at Rindo's hands prior to the events of the game. She is one of many recurring opponents that Ryūsei and the Soukai Gunpla Club faces.

  • Ace Custom: Her B/D Rider, a custom model comprised of parts from the Pale Rider and the Duel Gundam with its gun taken from the Jesta Cannon.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Her style of fighting is based of Ren's ability to analyze her opponent and make predictions about their movements while reacting accordingly.
  • BFG: As mentioned above, her B/D Rider's gun, taken from the Jesta Cannon which not only can fire lasers like regular beam guns (and that's not going into the spare magazines to reload), but also has a grenade launcher below the main barrel and an aiming device for more accurate shooting, giving this gun a big appearance.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Towards Ryūsei and the others. She was initially rather cold towards everyone but ends up hanging out with them so often that she now considers everyone her friends.
  • Dude Magnet: According to her senior Kyoko, there were at least seven guys who tried asking her out on a date during Christmas which Ren failed to notice.
  • The Gadfly: Towards Ichiho. Their first meeting has her call him a krill and after they battle she proceeds to fake cry about it just get a reaction out of him.
  • Hidden Depths: During one event, it's revealed that Ren knows how to sing as she had been taking opera lessons since she was 3 years old. She uses this knowledge to help Rindo out when she has trouble with her own singing abilities.
  • Older Than They Look: Ren's roughly about the same age as Ryūsei and the others, but she looks like she could pass as a middle school student instead. A police officer even outright mistakes her for a child during one event. Ren gets annoyed about this to say the least.
  • It's Personal: Desires to get back at Rindo for ending her winning streak.
  • Privileged Rival: Compared to most of her friends, Ren comes from a life of wealth thanks to her father being the Chief Executive Officer of Tomori Enterprises. This gets Played for Laughs during the Try Age Gundam event where she uses her money to her advantage to buy up more Try Age cards for herself. Touma even lampshades how none of them are a match for her financial might.
  • The Rival: Outside of her rivalry with Ryūsei and the others, she's also a more personal one to Rindo as the latter was the one who finally ended Ren's winning streak after so long and now she seeks payback.
  • Second Place Is for Losers: As far as she's concerned, anything less than 1st place in Gunpla Battle is a meaningless achievement.
  • Ship Tease: Ren is implied to have eventually developed a crush on Ryūsei. The 1st Anniversary event has her as the focus character where she has a date with him to a special event at the beachside Gunpla shop.

    Yuri Ichinose
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gunpla_yuri.png
"Ta-daaaah! Yuri Ichinose, on the scene! I'm here to help out Rindo, so you better be on your toes!"
Voiced by: Satsumi Matsuda

A first-year student from Nippa High and a member of its Gunpla Club. Yuri is one of the earliest rivals that Ryūsei and Sana meet and she's quick to befriend both after her defeat. After her senior Kenji's graduation, she takes over as captain of Nippa High's Gunpla Club.

  • Ace Custom: Her Gundam Astray Red Frame Flame, which takes the Astray Red Frame's weapons, legs, body and head and the Dragon Gundam's backpack and arms.
  • Blood Knight: Aims to have fun in Gunpla battle; as long as she enjoys herself, losing is but a triviality.
  • Chaste Heroine: As noted by her friend and school senior Kenji, Yuri can sometimes say things that can come off as mildly romantic without even realizing it herself.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: After initially serving as an opponent for Ryūsei and Sana to defeat, Rindo eventually recruits her to help train the former two for the national tournament and during this time becomes close friends with everyone.
  • Fangirl: Generally for anyone skilled enough to defeat her in battle. It's the point that she always carries around an autograph book to ask people sign it with.
  • Genki Girl: Much like Sana, Yuri is quite energetic and always has a smile on her face.
  • Large Ham: She sometimes likes to speak in a dramatic manner which Ryūsei can sometimes join in on.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She has the largest bust among the girls and official artwork tends to show this off. She even gets dressed in a Sexy Santa Dress during the 2nd Christmas event.
  • Oblivious to Love: Her senior Kenji has a crush on her but Yuri fails to notice.

Supporting Characters

    Soukai Gunpla Club

Ichiho Seto

A first year transfer student at Soukai Academy who joins the Gunpla Club during the second term. He's an expert at creating battle AI for Gunpla Battle, but lacks experience in the actual sport itself.

  • Ace Custom: His Triumpher, a custom Gunpla combining parts and weapons from the Beginning 30 Gundam and the "Zephyranthes" Full Burnern. However, he's initially not exceptionally skilled in battling in the flesh, going for AI pilots and machines instead.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: Acts like this for the most part, treating both Ryūsei and Sana with disdain upon first meeting them as he thinks they're not worth much as fighters. He lightens up after they defeat him.
  • A Day in the Limelight: He's essentially the main character for Chapter 16 where it deals with his and the Gunpla Clubs new recruits struggles to become proper successors to their seniors.
  • Humble Pie: He starts out thinking his A.I.s are unbeatable, a notion which predictably ends up being proven wrong when Ryūsei and Sana end up defeating everything he throws at them. They and Rindo all state that it takes more than data to win, a lesson that Ichiho takes to heart as he starts personally involving himself in Gunpla Battles to gain experience.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Once they meet, he calls ends up calling Ren a shrimp...despite the fact that she's actually just as tall as Ichiho himself. She returns the favor by calling him a krill much to his annoyance.
  • Teen Genius: He's only in high school but already a skilled AI programmer.
  • The Smart Guy: For the Gunpla Club after he joins. He's put in charge of maintaining and updating the combat AI that the group uses to train with and is generally the smartest person in the room after Rindo herself.

Mizuki Sarashina

A first year student and soft spoken member of the Gunpla Club who makes her debut during Chapter 15. She refrains from taking part in Gunpla Battle itself due to fear.

  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Despite their rough start, she's implied to have developed a crush on Tsukumo by the time of the 3rd Christmas event.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She's not pleased when she sees Ren's senior, Kyoko, taking an interest in Tsukumo and further gets annoyed when it looks like the latter is enjoying the attention.
  • Cowardly Lion: Although Mizuki dislikes taking part in Gunpla Battle, she's actually skilled at it herself when her nerves don't get the better of her. She also works quite well when supporting her teammates.
  • Heir to the Dojo: It's later revealed that she's the heir to the Shinten School of Gunpla Building.
  • Shrinking Violet: A quiet girl by nature.

Tsukumo Shinjou

A first year student introduced in Chapter 15. He's a brash and hot-headed delinquent who, after picking a fight with the Gunpla Club and loses, joins to group in order to get strong enough to settle the score.

  • Beat Them at Their Own Game: How he chooses to settle matters with. If he can beat someone at what they're good at, then that shows who's on top as far as Tsukumo is concerned.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: After his initial losses to the members of the Gunpla Club, Tsukumo has more or less become friends with everyone over time.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: "Tsukumony" which annoys him to no end.
  • Humble Pie: His losses to Ryūsei and Sana, along with team's loss in the Spring Regional tournament, serves as this to him as Tsukumo realizes Gunpla Battle isn't as easy he initially thought it was and does everything he can to improve himself as much as he can.
  • Japanese Delinquents: Looks and even acts the part.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Doesn't hesitate to pick a fight with Mizuki and Sana when he thinks they're butting in on his business.
  • Younger Than They Look: He's a 1st year student at Soukai High, but looks like he could be older than his seniors.

    Masayoshi Ono & Katsunori Nishi
The employees at the Gunpla Shop that Ryusei and Sana work part time at. Ono is the manager of the store with Nishi as his assistant, although in reality the roles are more or less reversed. The two often helps Ryūsei and the others train in Gunpla Battle.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Both of them are nothing but caring towards Ryūsei and friends. They also try to guide them along the way in improving their Gunpla Battling skills.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Ono is the hotheaded and laidback Red to Nishi's composed and serious Blue. The latter often has to reign the former in whenever he does something stupid.
  • Those Two Guys: They're often seen together and are rarely apart.
  • Shipper on Deck: Ono is one for Ryūsei/Sana. He notes the cliché of them being in the same class, club, and workplace together and tells the former to go for it.

    Kenji Nogami
A Gunpla Fighter from Nippa High and Yuri's senior. He's the captain of Nippa High Gunpla Club who often has to rein in his hyperactive junior's behavior.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Towards Yuri. He has a crush on her but fails to be honest about it.
  • Nice Guy: He's a laidback and friendly person to the people around him.
  • Oh, Crap!: He is horrified upon discovering that Ryūsei is competing in the same tournament qualifier as him in Chapter 12. He loses the match, but is able to compete in another qualifier in order to apply to the tournament in time.
  • Overshadowed by Awesome: He's noted to be a good fighter in his own right, but he tends to be outclassed by Yuri and the main cast.
  • Passing the Torch: Towards Yuri after she defeats him in Chapter 12, confident that even with his upcoming graduation that Nippa High's Gunpla Club was in good hands with her around.

    Ran Kotomori
Ren's mother and the person who created the Gundam Artemis and its successor the Gundam Areus. Her husband is the CEO of Tomori Enterprises.
  • Date Peepers: Tries to pull this on Ren during the 3rd Valentines event when she thinks her daughter is going on a date with someone and ropes Ryusei and later Sana into it.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Downplayed since it's not present much. In one event she ends up going on a cherry blossom viewing party with Ryusei and the others and ends up heavily drunk along with the other adults present by the end.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Her outfit leaves little to the imagination as it shows off how curvy she is.
  • Mum Looks Like a Sister: Barely looks any older than her teenage daughter to the point that they get mistaken for sisters.
  • Shipper on Deck: Serves as one for Ryūsei/Ren after noticing her daughter's interest in the former. She often brings up how delightful it would be if the two started dating much to Ren's annoyance.
  • Ultimate Blacksmith: Both of her creations, the Gundam Artemis and its successor the Gundam Areus, are high quality Gunpla capable of achieving outstanding performance in battle. The Areus in particular is so strong that it was able to defeat the combined onslaught of Sana, Yuri, Ren, Ran, Ono, and Nishi while built straight from the box.
  • Whole Costume Reference: Her outfit resembles the uniforms worn by Celestial Being in season 2 of Gundam 00.

    Tatsuki Hijiri
A mysterious Gunpla Battler who shows up out of nowhere to challenge others into fights and leaves just as quickly afterwards after her interest is satisfied. Tatsuki's later revealed to be sponsored by Yotsuba Electric and is essentially Touma's replacement after he left. She has a little sister named Towa.
  • The Ace: As far as competitors in the All-Japan National Tournament go, Tatsuki is bar none the most skilled fighter of the bunch. She easily decimated Ryūsei during their first battle and it takes special training from Mizuki's Shingen School for the former to even the odds. It's speculated by Touma and Ichiro that Tatsuki was cheating with the AIS system, but during the tournament itself, it's revealed she hadn't once used the system in any of her matches. This means Tatsuki was winning against her opponents through pure skill alone.
  • Ace Custom: Canonically, she mans her trusty Gundam Groundsel, a custom unit built combining parts from the TR-6 Woundwort, the Gundam Epyon, Gundam Sandrock, and the Alpha Azieru. It's beam scythe is also taken from the Abigor while it's beam rifle is taken from the Asshimar.
  • Anti-Villain: She may be Ryūsei's new rival but she's displeased with Yotsuba Electrics's highly dubious activities. The only reason why she hasn't left them is because they're paying for her little sister's medical treatment, making her evil because of who she's with, not her personality.
  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: During Chapter 20, Rindo greets her at the All-Japan National Tournament and Tatsuki is revealed to have completely forgotten about her despite having fought the former before much to Rindo's surprise and irritation.
  • Cool Big Sis: Towards her little sister Towa. Although she's generally against letting Towa roam around too much due to her poor health, Tatsuki more often than not obliges her little sister's antics out of love for her. She also puts up with Yotsuba Electric's experiments as a means to support Towa's medical treatments.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Easily destroys various characters throughout the story such as Rindo and even Ryūsei.
  • Dark Is Evil: Her official physical appearance shows her in clothes with shades of black, her Gundam Groundsel also sports black as part of its color scheme and she's Ryūsei's new rival. That said, she's not happy with the morally questionable workings of her sponsor, Yotsuba Electric.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Serves as the main character of Chapter 13, where it chronicles the events of Chapter 12 from her perspective instead.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Her proper debut in Chapter 12 features her essentially demolishing Ryūsei himself while barely breaking a sweat much to the shock of everyone present.
  • Expy: Of Aila Jyrkiäinen from Gundam Build Fighters. Much like the former, she's a highly skilled Gunpla Battler who was recruited by dubious individuals in order to win the national tournament, and despite her reservations, sticks by them due to needing their resources to support herself and her sister. Tatsuki also serves as a main rival to the protagonist who in this case is Ryūsei, and she even uses an illegal system that enhances performance but puts a tremendous amount of stress on the user if not handled carefully much like Aila did.
  • Foil: To Touma. Both of them are skilled Gunpla Battlers with younger siblings that they look out for, serve as main rivals to Ryūsei, and are sponsored by Yotsuba Electric. However, whereas Touma eventually quits to defend his honor, pride and dignity, Tatsuki decides to stick by the company despite her frustrations with them as they're the ones paying for her sister's medical treatments.
  • He Is Not My Boyfriend: Her sister loves to bring up that Ryūsei may be her soulmate, Tatsuki herself denies that every time it’s brought up, at least, until she ultimately loses to him in the All-Japan Gunpla Championship and Tatsuki openly wonders if Towa was right before collapsing from the strain of their match.
  • Honor Before Reason: Like Touma before her, she decides against using the AIS system during the All-Japan National Tournament as she wanted to win through her skills alone. This is especially the case against Ryusei after he impresses her so much and she starts having fun that she outright refuses Chidori's orders to use the AIS.
  • Purple Is Powerful: The Gundam Groundsel which has a black and purple color scheme and also comes equipped with the ZERO system. She and her unit were able to make sound work of both Rindo and Ryūsei.
  • The Rival: Following her introduction in Chapter 12, she serves as one towards Ryūsei after she effortlessly smashed him. Chapter 19 onwards focuses on him and his team trying to find a way to close the gap and eventually defeat her.
  • Ship Tease: During her visit to Soukai Academy‘s festival, she sees a fortune teller and is told that she would soon meet her soulmate. She eventually bumps into Ryūsei and her sister, Towa, took this as the sign that they were made for each other. After losing to him in the finals of the tournament, she admits that Towa might be right.
  • Worthy Opponent: During Chapter 20 she finally respects Ryūsei's combat prowess and skills in Gunpla Battle during their final battle.

    Chidori Takase
Tatsuki's manager and a representative of Yotsuba Electric. She looks after both Tatsuki and Towa while the former is under contract for the company.
  • Four Eyes, Zero Soul: She wears a pair of glasses and has no issues with using Tatsuki as a guinea pig for the AIS experiments, even with the physical and mental toll it brings on the poor girl. She's also willing to use the system to cheat during Gunpla Battle Tournaments by forcing Tatsuki to use it.
  • Expy: Of Nines Barthes. Much like the former, she acts as a manager to Tatsuki who herself is an expy of Aila. She also has little issue about forcing Tatsuki to bend to Yotsuba Electric's whims less they pull the plug on their support of Towa's medical procedures.
  • Smug Snake: Quite arrogant and looks down on those who lose to Tatsuki claiming that they were nothing.
  • Villainous Breakdown: In Chapter 20, Ryūsei starts to gain the upper hand over Tatsuki, causing Chidori to start losing her cool as she angrily orders Tatsuki to use the AIS system. When Tatsuki refuses, she forces the system to activate anyway and grows increasingly frustrated and aggressive when Ichiro and the others intervene. She eventually gets caught by the police and is taken in for questioning, causing her to lose her sense of superiority as she realizes she's done for.

Other Characters

    Misa Satsukino
Voiced by: Yuka Iguchi

The main heroine of Gundam Breaker 3. She reappears in Chapter 16 where she greets the Soukai Academy Gunpla club members after they visit the Ayato Shopping District and ends up befriending them.

  • Ace Custom: The Gundam Azalea, a custom Gunpla painted in white and shades of pink and built from multiple parts of other Gunpla, though it always features the Rozen Zulu's legs. In Gundam Breaker Battlogue, she uses the Blazing Gundam which is a heavily customized Burning Gundam.
  • Can't Catch Up: As with in her main game, Misa feels she's lagging behind Takuma's skill. During Gundam Breaker Battlogue, Misa admits she understands Mahara's feelings of inferiority towards Takuma but chastises him for taking it out on innocent players.
  • Cool Big Sis: To the kids who play at the Irato Game Park arcade as Misa often ends up looking after them.
  • Diving Kick: Her Blazing Gundam can execute the "Bakunetsu Bakusai Blazing Kick", which sees her Gunpla execute something reminiscent of a Rider Kick after gaining altitude, with its attacking foot lighting up to pierce through its target. Its power is strong enough to sever the Barbataurus's left arm, and said target towered over her at the time.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: Played with. While she's fairly respected by many Gunpla Battlers as a skilled battler in her own right, she's often overlooked in favor of Takuma much to her chagrin.
  • Exactly What I Aimed At: The third episode of Gundam Breaker Battalogue shows her charging in with her Blazing Gundam towards Mahara, accompanied with a program that would supposedly help her hit him and his Barbataurus. All of the shots missed, but Misa later reveals they weren't aiming for Mahara and were actually anti-virus programs that freed Ryūsei and company.
Mahara: That attack just now... She pretended that she was aiming for me...
  • Hates Being Alone: To an extent ever since her team has been effectively disbanded after Takuma left to travel abroad, Robota is currently stuck in space with no way to track or retrieve him, and Kadomatsu is busy with work, leaving her all alone. She's especially annoyed with Takuma leaving and immediately tries giving him a piece of her mind when he briefly returns.
  • Legendary in the Sequel: Thanks to having won the world tournament alongside Takuma, and also for her actions at the space station, Misa has become quite renowned amongst the Gunpla community to the point that several characters ask for her autograph when in her presence.
  • Ship Tease: With Takuma. Much like in her original game, Misa is implied to have a crush on him which both Granny Irato and Info-chan believe to be the main reason why she's upset at him suddenly leaving her behind in spite of her denials.
  • Worf Had the Flu: When Ichiho and the Gunpla Club newbies have a battle against her and win, they marvel at Misa's skill only for the latter to admit that she's actually rusty since she hasn't really been practicing as much ever since Takuma left to roam the world.

    Takuma Nagitsuji
Voiced by: Yukihiro Nozuyama

The main protagonist of Gundam Breaker 3. After having won the world tournament, he's currently on a trip around the world battling other Gunpla Fighters.

  • The Ace: He's considered one of the strongest fighters in-universe if not the strongest. The end of Chapter 17 has Ryūsei, Sana, Touma, Yuri and Misa all face off against an AI-replica of Takuma's 00-Qan[T] and end up losing to it.
  • Ace Custom: In Gundam Breaker Battlogue, he uses the 00 Command Qan[T], a customized Gunpla combining the Gundam 00 Qan[T] with elements from the SD Command Gundam.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Takuma first appeared in a manga adaptation of Gundam Breaker 3. There, he originally had black hair and lighter skin. By Gundam Breaker Battlogue however, his hair color has been changed to white and he's also been given somewhat of a light tan.
  • Always Someone Better: To virtually everyone in the game, particularly Misa and Mahara. The former takes it in stride and does what she can to improve and keep up with him whereas the latter took it rather negatively which caused Mahara to act out during the events of Gundam Breaker Battlogue.
  • Big Damn Heroes: In the final episode of Gundam Breaker Battlogue, he enters the battlefield to save everyone from Mahara's schemes, firing a rocket to the Barbataurus's tail to save Misa. Takuma quickly proceeds to utterly dominate Mahara in battle and would have beaten him rather easily had the latter not further hacked the system to give himself an edge. An in-game event tied in to said ONA reveals that he logged into the system after convincing Mr. Kadomatsu to help him get in to try and stop Mahara.
Misa: (sees Takuma and his Command Qan[T]) T-Takuma...
Mahara: (also sees Takuma) NAGITSUJIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [Barbataurus angrily charges towards Takuma]
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Easily defeats Mahara while barely breaking a sweat twice in Gundam Breaker Battlogue. On an indirect note, an AI replica of his pilot data and his 00-Qan[T] was able to defeat a team comprised of Ryūsei, Sana, Touma, Yuri, and Misa and they all note how strong it was.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Towards Mahara. Losing to Takuma was bad enough, but the former taking his time to lecture Mahara during their battle didn't exactly help matters either.
  • Legendary in the Sequel: As with Misa, Takuma is considered a living legend among Gunpla Fighters ever since his victories in the world tournament and help in saving the space station in Gundam Breaker 3. Touma even considers him the strongest fighter of their generation.
  • Oh, Crap!: He panics after Misa realizes that he's back in town as he know he's in trouble with her for leaving her alone for so long.
Misa: When did you get back?! You joined the battle. That means you're in the venue, right?
Takuma: (panicking) Uh... Eh, no, I'm participating online... I'm not here, so bye! [frantically logs out]
Misa: That sounds like a lie! DON'T YOU RUN AWAY! [logs out to find Takuma]
  • Suddenly Voiced: Originally being little more than an avatar for the player in Gundam Breaker 3, Gundam Breaker Battlogue formally canonizes Takuma's character from the manga and gives him his own voice as well.
  • Super Mode: As per the games, Takuma can use the Awakening System to give himself an edge. He's one out of three characters in the setting capable of using it, the others being Mr. Gunpla and Will from Gundam Breaker 3.
Touma: [witnesses Takuma getting the edge over Mahara and his Barbataurus] It's more powerful than I'd heard...
Sana: Wow... He's getting the upper hand against that demonic Gunpla...
Misa: Hehe... That's because he's my partner after all.
  • Wandering the Earth: His current status as he's travelling around the world to hone his skills.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: On the receiving end of this from Misa who's not all that pleased with Takuma leaving her behind to go travelling. When they do reunite at the end of Gundam Breaker Battlogue, she immediately tries giving him a piece of her mind only for him to run away.

    Mr. Gunpla
A mysterious man who is adept in Gunpla Battle and was among the folks who joined Misa in saving the Ayato Shopping District from closing down. He later accompanies Kentaro Mahara on an apology tour.
  • The Ace: He's a professional Gunpla Battler internationally whose skills could rival Takuma's.
  • Ace Custom: His Gunpla in this game is a combination of parts from lots of Gunpla kits, including a Kampfer, the Sinanju, the Astray Red Frame and the Gundam Versago.
  • Cool Shades: Sports a pair with a white frame and teal-shaded lenses in this game.
  • Large Ham: Goes all out in theatrics as the DJ and commentator of Gunpla Battles.
  • Mentor Archetype: He's a veteran Gunpla Battler who uses his experience to help out and teach next generation of battlers. He aided Misa in saving the Ayato Shopping District back in Gundam Breaker 3, and during Chapter 18 of this game, he tags along with Kentaro Mahara as the latter tries to make amends for his rampage at GB Fest.
  • No Name Given: Mr. Gunpla is only a persona; we don't know his actual name, neither do we ever find out.
  • Retired Badass: Formerly a champion in Gunpla Battle before deciding to retire and become an emcee for the sport instead.

    Kadomatsu
Voiced by: Tomokazu Sugita
A famous computer scientist and engineer from Helm Robotics who aided Misa in saving the Ayato Shopping District from closing down. He later meets up with Ryūsei and his friends as they discuss promoting Masayoshi and Katsunori's Gunpla store and also played an instrumental role in stopping Mahara's rampage in Japan's GB Fest.
  • Mission Control: Aids Ryūsei, Misa and their friends in stopping Mahara while communicating with them at times, all while sitting back on his chair with a computer set before him.
  • Spanner in the Works: All of his workings on the GB Fest jammed a wrench into Mahara's Roaring Rampage of Revenge. When Misa, Ryūsei and their buddies' Gunpla get trapped by Mahara's hacking, he made a mask that made Misa's Blazing Gundam immune to hacking and a program that freed Sana, Touma and Ryūsei. He later ups this by inserting a vaccine program to Mahara's AI Pilots to aid everyone in stopping Mahara and his enlarged, overpowered Barbataurus.

    Kentaro Mahara
Voiced by: Yohei Azakami

The main antagonist of Gundam Breaker Battalogue. He is first introduced losing to Takuma Nagitsuji during the 13th Gunpla Battle US Championship Finals. Swearing revenge, he upgraded his Gundam Barbaric into the Gundam Barbataurus and hijacks the GB Fest in Japan, forcing Misa, Ryūsei and their friends to launch a counterattack against him.

  • Ace Custom: First there was his customized Gundam Barbatos, the Gundam Barbaric, which he used to battle Takuma only for the latter to defeat him. Still salty about his defeat, he customizes it further into the menacing black and red four-legged Gundam Barbataurus.
  • All Your Powers Combined: In a furious final attempt to defeat Takuma, Ryūsei, Misa and their friends, Mahara combines all of the festival-goers' Gunpla data with his own Gunpla (basically hacking the system). This results in the Gundam Barbataurus not just getting bigger in size, but also gaining enough power to break the game's systems. That being said, he doesn't use the abilities or special attacks of the Gunplas' data, just their collective overall power.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Not him, but his Gundam Barbataurus, which increases in power, size and height as the result of assimilating all of the festival-goers' Gunpla data into it.
  • The Atoner: In Chapter 18 of the story mission, he goes around accompanied by Mr. Gunpla on an apology tour. Mahara even intends to apologize to Ryūsei, Misa, Takuma and their friends for his rampage. He succeeds and is welcomed into the "world of Gunpla" with open arms, all while being lauded for his sheer talent for it.
Nao Mochizuki: New talent entering the field is a cause for celebration, don't you know?
  • Berserk Button: Anyone who has a battle record that outshines his own qualifies. Simply looking up Ryūsei's rather impressive record was enough to infuriate him.
  • Big Bad: He's the one who sets off the main plot of Gundam Breaker Battlogue by rampaging through Japan's GB Fest.
  • Cool Mask: During his rampage at GB Fest, he wears a black mask that doubles as a helmet with a pair of side horns and a front red-hot one adorned with red streaks and some form of gold-yellow stripes on the sides.
  • The Cracker: What he uses thankfully doesn't corrupt the system directly, but he somehow manages to learn how the Gunpla Battle system works and goes hacking the whole system to give himself an edge in the GB Fest, from immobilising other peoples' Gunpla and stealing their data to use against the heroes, to using Artificial Intelligence Pilots and their Gunpla to do likewise and assimilating all of the data he stole into his own Gunpla to annihilate his enemies and break the system. Of course, it doesn't stop Mr. Kadomatsu from doing his computer work to first free Misa, Ryūsei and their friends from his hacking and then turn his A.I. pilots against him.
Mahara: (inputs codes into his Gunpla after Takuma corners him) I'm not gonna let it end like this...! If you're loved by the system...then with power that surpasses the bounds of the system... I'LL DESTROY YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Press the button, causing his Barbataurus to absorb every single bit of Gunpla data and exponentially increase in size and power)
  • Dark Is Evil: His garb he wears to hack and wreck havoc on the GB Fest sports dark colors with black among them and he's the ONA's Big Bad. Even his Gundam Barbataurus has dark colors and a dark shade of tint purple.
  • A Day in the Limelight: He serves as the main character of Chapter 18, where he goes around the city to apologize to everyone involved in his rampage during the GB Fest.
  • Death by Flashback: Mahara doesn't die physically, but while his Gundam Barbataurus clashes with Takuma's 00 Command Quan[T]'s one last time, we see a brief flashback spanning from when the former began enthusiastically picking up Gunpla Battle to the point where Takuma defeats him for the first time before the Command Quan[T] thrusts its sword into the cockpit and destroys his avatar.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Why does he want to exact revenge on Takuma? He lost to him in the US Finals, and that's not counting the fact that he caused everyone at Japan's GB Fest to suffer from his hacking just to draw his attention. Sana even calls his grudge against Takuma "stupid".
  • Easily Forgiven: In spite of the trouble he caused during the events of Gundam Breaker Battlogue, he's let off the hook rather easily by everyone as no real damage was done at the end of the day and it even led to an increased interest in Gunpla Battle as a whole thanks to Mahara's performance. Takuma and Misa in particular don't hold it against him, and so too does Ryūsei, Sana, and Touma as they all understand that Mahara is genuinely sorry for what he did and let bygones be bygones.
Ran Kotomori: Just between us, that "incident" of yours caused a massive Gunpla buzz. That's not such a bad thing. But don't ever do that again, okay?
  • Evil Is Petty: The reason why he hijacks the GB Fest, steals all of the others' Gunpla Data and causes major havoc? He lost to Takuma during the US Championship Finals. Basically, he not only wants to prevent others from "stealing his spotlight" as from those Finals but also exact revenge on Takuma.
  • Heel Realization: While he doesn't immediately apologize for the chaos he wrought upon the festival, thanks to some pep talk from Misa, Takuma and their allies, he rediscovers and realizes his passion for Gunpla. He even returns the festival-goers' stolen Gunpla data to their respective owners as he's taken away for his "criminal" rampage.
Mahara: Did I lose sight of them? My surroundings, and myself as well...
  • It's All About Me: He constantly rants about people stealing his "spotlight", especially if they're named Takuma Nagitsuji, also declaring that he won't let them do that to him now with his new Gundam Barbataurus.
Mahara: I should be getting the glory!!!!!!! Why are you taking that from me?!?!?!
    Misa: You're just being selfish!
Mahara: SHUUUT UUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (attempts to attack Misa)
  • It's Personal: He bears a massive grudge against Takuma Nagitsuji for defeating him in the US Finals to the point where he goes rampaging throughout the GB Fest demanding his presence to settle the score. He even resorted to angrily causing the Gunpla Battle System to break at the seams by powering himself and his Barbataurus up to insane levels just to get even with him. If that's not enough, he cut a part of the Gundam Barbaric's V-fin at the spot where it got slashed in battle as a call-back to his fateful loss.
Mahara: Ever since then, I've sacrificed everything I have to bring humiliation on him...so he'll suffer more than I did... This scar he gave me... I've engraved it as a pledge of vengeance!
  • Large Ham: As appropriate for someone who wants to be the center of attention, Mahara essentially guzzles the scenery every time he's shown onscreen.
  • Make My Monster Grow: Or "Make My Gunpla Grow" in this case. He angrily assimilates all of the festival-goers' Gunpla data into his Barbataurus, causing it to increase in power and size and tower over Takuma, Misa, Ryūsei and their friends' Gunpla in a furious last attempt to defeat all of them.
  • Our Centaurs Are Different: His Gundam Barbataurus is designed by combining two Gundam Frames together, resulting in a Gundam with a centaur's build.
  • Punny Name: His first name is Kentaro, which phonetically sounds similar to the Japanese pronunciation of "Centaur" which is what his Gundam Barbataurus is based on.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: He and his Gunpla sport black and red as part of their color scheme and he's the ONA's main villain.
  • The Resenter: Towards Takuma whom Mahara hates not only for beating him at the US Championship, but also for the fact that he sees Takuma as someone "blessed by the system" for his ability to use Awakening.
Mahara: [to Takuma as the latter begins to gain the upper hand] You're doing it again, gleaming and shining... YOU CHEATER, LOVED BY THE SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Revenge: A major motive for wrecking havoc on the GB Fest with Takuma as his target while everyone else feels his wrath.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: He basically enters Japan's GB Fest to wreak havoc with his system hacking in a bid to draw out Takuma to get even with him, while everyone else can only helplessly watch as he dominates them. He also does not spare Ryūsei, Misa and their friends, from trapping them with his hacking, to "rewarding" their victory over his AI pilots by ravaging them painfully.
  • Sore Loser: He is not happy about losing to Takuma during the US Championship Finals, but he doesn't immediately take action against him. Instead, he gives his Gundam Barbaric a massive overhaul into the Gundam Barbataurus before running wild on an unstoppable rampage at the GB Fest while demanding for Takuma's presence amidst the chaos just to get even with him.
  • The Straight and Arrow Path: The Gundam Barbataurus' twin blades can combine to form a bow for his Dainsleif Arrows. The resulting special weapon is capable of blasting a huge crater in the battlefield's ground. Once the unit gets bigger and exponentially more powerful, it's able to fire a few of them skyward before they multiply in mid-air and nuke the battlefield and the system multiple times.
  • Tail Slap: His Gundam Barbataurus' tail can whip at opponents with its triple blades at the end which can generate a laser blade for good measure.
  • Villainous Breakdown: After Misa arrives with Mr. Kadomatsu's vaccine program to counter his hacking, Mahara begins to lose it as she, Ryūsei, and their friends defeat his AI subordinates which garners them more attention from the onlooking fans watching the battle much to his fury. Once his main target Takuma arrives and corners him despite all his preparations up until that point, Mahara finally snaps and infuriately begins using every means possible to power himself up in a rage-fuelled final bid to annihilate his foes at the cost of breaking the system. He further verges on insanity when his own AI pilots turn against him and is reduced to screaming insanely as his opponents give him one critical blow after another.
Takuma: [charges towards heavily damaged Barbataurus] It's finished, MAHARA!
Mahara: [Giant Barbatarus angrily draws its katana to counterattack] NAGITSUJI TAKUMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[Mahara's Death by Flashback plays as both he and Takuma attack each other; the Command Quan[T] shoves its sword into the Barbatarus's cockpit, shattering its avatar's head and destroying the evil machine]
Mahara: [personal cockpit system fizzles out in defeat] (utterly broken) Is this the end...? They stole my spotlight again...
