Beth (12th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bethminipromo.jpeg

Age: 24
From: Nelson, British Columbia

"Is the SkyTrain still running?"

  • Badass Native: Beth is of the Métis People, a group who originated in the 1700s when French and Scottish fur traders married Aboriginal women of primarily Cree and Anishinabe (Ojibway) origin. Their descendants formed a distinct culture and nationhood in Northwest Canada.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: One of this season's curvaceous queens and very proud of her "fat ass".
  • Big-Breast Pride: As she exits the main-stage following her elimination, she tells the other queens that none of the rest of them will ever have tits as good as hers.
  • Graceful Loser: Upon her exit, she thanks the judges for giving her a chance and improving her self-esteem. But it's quickly subverted — see below.
  • Her Own Worst Enemy: Her meek, low-energy performance in the premiere's runway segment is instantly picked up on by the judging panel, who unanimously decide that she's not yet comfortable enough, or in the right headspace, to compete.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: In her promo pic, her topped is wrenched open to reveal metres of cavernous, plunging cleavage.
  • Restrained Revenge: Instead of writing a heartfelt farewell message on the mirror, as is tradition, she gouges half of the lipstick out and just makes a massive red smudge. She then smears "BYE" into it before walking out of frame in an act of playful revenge against Gia Metric (who’ll have to clear up her mess) for sending her home.
  • Special Person, Normal Name: Hers is amongst the simplest, least embellished drag-names out there — she's just "Beth".
  • Uncanny Valley Makeup: Her makeup and hair for the Premiere Party Eleganza runway is a tad...off, with her dark, panda eyes and frizzy, witchy wig lending her a slightly unsettling (and in no way glamorous) look. Compounded by her meek personality, she ultimately crashes out in 12th place.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Despite impressing the judges with a corset embellished with Red Solo cups painted black, the rest of her outfit disappoints them. This, along with her own insecurities put her in the bottom, and she is not able to keep up with fellow BC queen Gia Metric in the lip-sync, ultimately sending her home first.

Océane Aqua-Black (11th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oc3faneaqua_blackminipromo.jpeg

Age: 35
From: Québec City, Québec

"Aah! Salut, gang de laides!note  Oh, the ocean is rising and she is so salty!"

  • Big Beautiful Woman: One of this season's curvier ladies.
  • Big Fun: She's charming and sweet, with an infectious, giggling laugh.
  • Class Clown: She's terminally giggly and upbeat, and doesn't take herself or the show's pressurised environment too seriously.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Amongst the darkest in Drag Race herstory, as Océane was abandoned in the Haitian jungle as a baby and left to die before being rescued and adopted — which makes her live-for-the-day, bubbly attitude all the more impressive.
  • Edible Theme Clothing: For her winning Queen of Your Neighbourhood mini-challenge look, she sports an outfit designed around a bag of poutine — a dish of fries, cheese curds and gravy now celebrated nationally that was originally created in her home province of Québec.
  • Game-Breaking Injury: Defied. She hurts her knee in the first mini-challenge (a photo-shoot where the queens all need to leap into a foam-filled pit), but knowing that this could take her out of the competition, she comes up with a hot mess of a runway look so she can work her limp into it. What actually ends her run on the show is her aimless performance in the musical challenge, the very next episode.
  • Gratuitous French: Raised in Haiti, and now living in Canada's primarily Francophonic Québec Province, she peppers her speech with French on occasion, despite the show being shot in English, and has a marvellously thick Québécoise accent to match.
  • Handicapped Badass: Océane reveals in the first episode that she is effectively blind without her glasses and does not wear contact lenses, requiring her to learn how to put her makeup on by touch alone. Which isn't to say she's a glamazon ready for the runway, but is definitely Season 2's clown.
  • Sucks at Dancing: Her performance in the Under the Big Top Rusical is a bit of a sloppy, aimless mess, and she struggles to both keep time with the music, and follow the moves that she and the other queens in her section are supposed to be performing — which ultimately leads to her early elimination.

Stephanie Prince (10th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stephanieprinceminipromo.jpeg

Age: 24
From: Calgary, Alberta

"You guys like fried chicken? 'Cause bitch... I'm serving."

  • Appropriated Appellation: She was picked on at school for being feminine, and was called "Stephanie" by the other kids, so decided to take ownership of the nickname for her drag persona. She then combined this with the last name "Prince", after Diana Prince AKA Wonder Woman.
  • Canadian Western: She's the first queen in the series to hail from the province of Alberta, sometimes described as "Texas with snow" due to its rich oil reserves, cattle ranching, country music, and the rodeo-themed ‘Stampede’, a festival which occurs annually in her hometown of Calgary. In celebration, for her Queen of Your Neighbourhood look, she performs a Cowboy-themed striptease, which results in a hilarious Blooper when she gets a little too into it and smacks herself hard in the nuts.
  • Flat Character: For the Screech horror-themed acting challenge of episode 3, Stephanie portrays the brilliantly-named 'Clitney Lezcoff', a pastiche of the main heroine Sidney Prescott from the Scream movies. Unfortunately for her, the judges find her permanently anxious characterisation to be entirely one-note, which lands her in the bottom 2 with Synthia, whose stronger, more on-theme performance in the lip-sync to "Ghost" by Fefe Dobson ultimately sends her packing.
  • Girls with Moustaches: For the Circus Bezerkus runway of episode 2, she sports a Stripperific (though well-designed) bearded lady look, with a plaited beard trailing well below her waistline.
  • Whole Costume Reference:
    • Enters the Werk Room in an outfit inspired by the mascot of the Philippines' original fast food restaurant, Jollibee.
    • Her Good Girl Gone Bad runway in episode 3 is a slutty, latex variation of Dorothy's iconic gingham outfit from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Doubles as a Stock Shout-Out, as poor Dorothy has by now been slightly done to death across the franchise.

Suki Doll (9th + Miss Congeniality)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sukidollminipromo.jpeg

Age: 27
From: Montréal, Québec

"Did somebody order combo number five? Suki surf is sizzling hot."

  • Bad Impressionists: Despite looking a lot like Yoko Ono for the Snatch Game, her performance is a confused diatribe of weird quips — likely supposed to invoke Ono's wackier performance-art aspects — but is ultimately just flat and unfunny. Landing in the bottom, Eve 6000's slicker performance in the lip-sync sends her packing.
  • The Fashionista: Probably her main strength, as evidenced by her well-received runway looks, especially the outsized trench-coat she sports for her Sandra Oh-inspired Made in Canada runway of episode 4, which has the judging panel gagging.
  • Graceful Loser: The other queens marvel at Suki's positive attitude, despite her knowing full well she'll probably be in the bottom for her painfully unfunny Snatch Game performance as Yoko Ono. She maintains this positive attitude even after losing the lip-sync and has a dignified exit.
  • Humble Hero: She's a down-to-earth, composed queen who never once succumbs to high emotions or dramatics, responds respectfully to the judges critiques, and takes her elimination incredibly gracefully.
  • Mellow Fellow: She never loses her cool and has a calm, zen-like persona, despite the mayhem and tension going on around her. For good reason is she crowned this season's Miss Congeniality.
  • Nice Girl: Suki turned out to be more eloquent and personable than her "fashion bitch" persona would infer. The other queens showed their appreciation in the reunion by awarding her the show's first "official" Miss Congeniality.note  Suki then immediately joked that she didn't have to be congenial anymore, but made clear that she appreciates the season's sisterhood.
  • Sexy Whatever Outfit: For her Queen of Your Neighbourhood look, she sports a cute, 60s-style, traffic cone-inspired look in a wry dig at her hometown of Montréal's seemingly endless road repairs and building works.

Eve 6000 (8th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eve6000minipromo.jpeg

Age: 29
From: Toronto, Ontario

"The earth may be flat, but Canada has curves."

  • Attention Whore: Of a type not seen since the days of Mimi Imfurst back in US Season 3, Eve is a dramatic queen who blubs (sometimes suspiciously fakely) at the drop of a hat and is quick to steer conversations her way backstage. She also exhibits a suspicious, conspiratorial vibe, feeling that the other girls (a generally very nice bunch) are out to "get" her.
  • Bad Impressionists: Her portrayal of Bernie Sanders for the Snatch Game is visually hilarious, though her jokes don't land and her repartee with Brooke and her fellow queens falls flat, landing her in the bottom 2.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: She represents an elegant take on the usually more comedy-based big girl competitors throughout the franchise. She cites Marilyn Monroe as a direct inspiration for her drag.
  • Bitch Alert: Having just walked into the Werk Room, her first interaction with her fellow queens involves briskly snapping at Gia and accusing her of unfollowing her on Instagram.
  • Blatant Lies: To land a good part in the Under the Big Top Rusical in episode 2, she robustly claims to be a strong singer. In practise however, her voice is high, tight and mewling, and definitely not on par with queens like Synthia (excellent) or Kendall, the latter doing a far better job despite declaring that she's not a good singer.
  • Drama Queen: Oh god yes — after being declared safe in the premiere, Eve set her dramatic tone for the rest of her time on the show, exiting the runway whimpering and crying and generally hamming it up like the rent was due.
  • Gayborhood: She hails from Toronto's Church Street area, the city's LGBT+ hub.
  • Inelegant Blubbering: She has a very distinctive, "WO-oh-oh-woh" cry, which gets (playfully) roasted by the other queens for being potentially fake and overly dramatic.
  • Lady Drunk: Invoked for the Queen of Your Neighbourhood mini-challenge, where she portrays a drunken Church Street Fag Hag in smeared makeup and a spray-on dress wrenched above her hips, revealing thong underwear. After comically staggering about the stage, she exits the runway by spread-eagling across the floor and (fake) barfing her guts up just out of view.
  • Large Ham: Both in, and out of drag. Eve is highly strung, prone to outbursts of dramatic emotion, and is very quick to feel sorry for herself.
  • Line-of-Sight Name: She picked her drag name from the E6000 craft glue brand.
  • Mood-Swinger: Whilst she's typically perky in confessionals and is a fairly strong, upbeat actress and performer in challenges, as soon as she interacts with the other girls backstage, some comment or slight (whether real or imagined) will plunge her into a moody funk.
  • Prone to Tears: Very moody and emotional, to the point that eventually even Eve herself wonders whether she can get through one episode without crying. She can't even stop herself from getting teary-eyed in the reunion.
  • Recursive Crossdressing: She portrays American presidential candidate and beloved meme-fodder Bernie Sanders for the Snatch Game, and whilst her raincoat and mittens look is spot-on and hilarious, she doesn't quite land the jokes, ultimately landing in the bottom 2.
  • Whole Costume Reference: For the Made in Canada runway of episode 4, she portrays Canadian actress Carrie-Anne Moss in her iconic role as Trinity from The Matrix film series.

Synthia Kiss (7th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/synthiakissminipromo.jpeg

Age: 29
From: Vancouver, British Columbia

"Get ready to synthesize!"

  • 10-Minute Retirement: According to Kendall, Synthia had actually quit drag some time before filming Drag Race but started up again once she was cast on the show.
  • Death or Glory Attack: Choosing to portray fashion designer Rachel Zoe for the Snatch Game was potentially a huge risk, as judge Brad Goreski knows Zoe personally, having worked for her as her associate and fashion director on The Rachel Zoe Project — a role which he famously quit under circumstances that are still a tad unclear. Things could have therefore gone either way, though thankfully Synthia nails her impersonation, perfecting Zoe's famously Machine Monotone voice and exhibiting excellent repartee with both her fellow queens and the judges, with special focus on Brad, of course. Amusingly harrowed, Brad declares her impersonation to be scarily spot-on and Synthia is crowned the winner.
  • Epic Flail: For her Good Girl Gone Bad runway of episode 3, she sports a Goth-girl look in green and black humbug stripes, and carries with her a morning star, which she whips about and lets fly out of her hands during her lip-sync, missing her opponent Stephanie's face by mere inches
  • Fighting Your Friend: After landing in the bottom 2 following the Sinner's Ball challenge, she has to lip-sync against her best friend both in and outside of the competition, Kendall, who ultimately sends her home.
  • Girl Posse: Synthia is a member of the Bratpack, a group of Vancouver queens that also includes her seasonmates Kendall Gender and Gia Metric. Downplayed on the show, as whilst the girls are chummy, they don't resort to any Rolaskatox-esque cliqueness.
  • Going for the Big Scoop: For the Made in Canada runway of episode 4, she portrays Jeanne Beker, a Torontonian entertainment reporter (later presenter and fashion editor) known in her 80s heyday for her effusive fashion reporting — judge Brad Goreski once noted that she "reported from the shows in Milan and New York with such intensity, as if she was a war correspondent reporting from the front lines" — big, beehive hair and even bigger shoulder pads.
  • Hereditary Homosexuality: Across the franchise, a handful of queens have mentioned having gay siblings, but in what is a franchise first, Synthia reveals that her father recently came out as gay. She's obviously pleased for him, though she notes that he downplayed his Coming-Out Story so as not to steal her thunder.
  • Performance Artist: She doesn't brag about her singing prowess prior to the Under the Big Top Rusical, simply noting that she can, but when it comes time to rehearse and ultimately perform her role as 'Corsette' (a nod to Cosette from Les Misérables), she reveals her excellent musical theatre singing skills.
  • Pop-Cultural Osmosis Failure: For the horror-themed Screech acting challenge of episode 3, she portrays 'A-Martha', a playful caricature of judge Amanda Brugel combined with a 'Martha', one of the Identically Named Group of household servants from The Handmaid's Tale. Synthia doesn't get the 'Martha' reference, having never read the book or watched the show, so puts on a standard Stern Teacher performance, which lacks all humour and lands her in the bottom 2.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: The judges unanimously agree that her most beautiful look in the entire competition was...the Ugly as Sin runway where looking good was specifically not the point. The outfit may have been a weird powder puff thing, but it was in a pleasant shade of pink and Synthia's wig and makeup were flawless. She thought the short hair would sell the whole "ugly" idea, but she realized too late that it actually looked gorgeous on her.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: She's assigned the sin of Greed for the sewing-challenge runway of the Sinner's Ball. She crafts a gold and leopard print-themed 'rich lady' look, complete with gilded shopping bags and a fur ushanka, but the results are far less accomplished than her competitors, and she finds herself in the bottom 2 with Kendall, who ultimately sends her home.
  • So Beautiful, It's a Curse: Synthia (with her tongue firmly in her cheek) jokes that her powder puff-themed Ugly as Sin look, which the judges unanimously agree is far too pretty to be on-brief, was sabotaged by the fact that the pixie-crop wig she wore made her look unexpectedly even more beautiful than usual, and looking like shit is just not in her wheelhouse.

Kimora Amour (6th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kimoraamourminipromo.jpeg

Age: 34
From: Scarborough, Ontario

"Bitch! You better bring it to the floor, because I will always give you what? Amour."

  • Doomed Defeatist: After her less than stellar performance in the Roast of Brooke Lynn Hytes later in the competition, and following Pythia's comment that it's coming up to the point where the queens are usually asked who should go home next, Kimora says she'd like to go. Whilst she's not willing to quit, she notes that she has shown all she has to show, and has not received positive critiques, or had a chance to excel in the competition. Finding herself in the bottom 2 with Gia, she resorts to unsportsmanlike interruptive behaviour in the lip-sync and is sent home.
  • Icon of Rebellion: For the Made in Canada runway of episode 4, she portrays Canadian singer Deborah Cox in her role as French entertainer, La Résistance agent and civil rights activist, Josephine Baker.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: She's experienced enough and knows herself well enough to realise that she's not winner material by the latter third of the competition, though her Doomed Defeatist attitude is sad to watch.
  • Sassy Black Woman: Kimora herself counts of course, as she's loud and proud, but she takes this up a notch in her role as comedienne Leslie Jones for the Snatch Game, in which she places high.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: She's assigned the sin of Envy for the sewing-challenge runway of the Sinner's Ball and crafts a Garden Garment look in shades of green, complete with a fabric snake coiled about her to lend a Garden of Eden vibe.
  • Slavery Is a Special Kind of Evil: Her competitors use the Ugly as Sin runway as an opportunity to present comically-inclined looks, though Kimora uses it as a platform to present an incredibly powerful, moving presentation on the evils of slavery, portraying a shackled Caribbean slave shuffling up the runway before breaking her bonds and escaping to freedom. Doubles as a Very Special Episode within an episode, as her runway is given its own space, with more screen-time, no judges’ commentary, and a short, respectful pause for reflection as it concludes.
  • Stopped Caring: When she lands in the bottom with Gia Metric following the Roast of Brooke Lynn Hytes, Kimora still lip-syncs but she's by this time thoroughly checked out, putting no effort into it, and confusing the judges and her fellow competitors by constantly invading Gia's space on the stage before accepting defeat.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Finding herself in the bottom two, her behaviour in the lip-sync versus Gia is bizarre and of a type not seen since the series’ early days.note  She aggressively shadows Gia, sticking to her like glue, trying to distract her, and generally making a tit of herself, with the judges and her fellow queens looking on in bemused horror — Adriana quips “is it done yet??” — before she’s rebuked for her inelegant antics and ultimately sent packing.

Adriana (5th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/adrianaminipromo.jpeg

Age: 29
From: Québec City, Québec

"Cuerpo... y orgullo... Colombiano... are you ready for this, papi?" note

  • Bad Impressionists: For the Snatch Game, she portrays fellow Hispanic Sofía Vergara, but her performance is deathly flat, lacks any humour (especially considering Vergara, being such a Large Ham already, is ripe for parody) and she only just scrapes a low placement, avoiding landing in the bottom 2.
  • Loon with a Heart of Gold: She's a quirkily eccentric, sweet-natured queen who serves a great Reaction Shot and exhibits excellent visual comedy skills, with special mention going to her brilliant Ugly as Sin runway look, in which she was encased in what was essentially a huge, turd-shaped sleeping bag, landing the most laughs from the judges.
  • One Name Only: She usually goes by "Adriana Schatzi", though on the show, she's simply "Adriana".
  • Picked Last: Following episode 5's Bye, Flop girl-groups challenge, the mood in the Werk Room is upbeat, though Adriana is clearly quite down, and politely asks the team captains Gia and Synthia why they picked her last, to which they reply that it's not personal, just that they were less sure of her skill-set going into the challenge.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: She's assigned the sin of Lust for the sewing-challenge runway of the Sinner's Ball and crafts a lingerie and lace-themed look in shades of pink and white that's unfortunately a little too obvious and safe to stand out, and she ends up placing low.
  • Spicy Latina: Outright states she's one in her promo video, and wears it as a badge of honour.
  • Unlocking the Talent: Prior to the Screech acting challenge in episode 2, she worries that her mellow, soft-spoken persona will hamper her performance. However, whilst playing "Blood N' Goreski", a wildly over-the-top caricature of judge Brad Goreski, she gets a chance to flex her comedy and acting chops, Chewing the Scenery and impressing the judges enough for her to win the week.

Gia Metric (4th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/giametricminipromo.jpeg

Age: 29
From: Vancouver, British Columbia

"Never a bad angle — because I'm stunning!"

  • Genki Girl: She’s bubbly and excitable, often shrieking with delight, both in the Werk Room and confessionals.
  • Girl Posse: Gia is a member of the Bratpack, a group of Vancouver queens that also includes her season-mates Kendall Gender and Synthia Kiss. Downplayed on the show, as whilst the girls are chummy, they don't resort to any Rolaskatox-esque cliqueness.
  • Gum In Hair: For her Ugly as Sin runway, her entire dress is created from globs of discarded bubblegum, which is also stuck all over her hair, and is pulling it out in gross, wispy clumps.
  • Long Speech Tea Time: Gia can be overly gushing and tends to ramble on when receiving criticism or responding to praise from the judges, which she sportingly acknowledges in her exit message:
Gia: I'd like to thank The Academy — I'm just fucking kidding! I have nothing else to say, bitches!
  • Recursive Crossdressing: Takes a risk for the Snatch Game, playing beloved Canadian comedian and infamous Large Ham, Jim Carrey. Her energy is excellent, her Ace Ventura: Pet Detective-era look is spot-on, and she cavorts around every inch of the set, but her performance winds up being more bizarre than funny, not helped by the strange nasally voice she uses that doesn't sound much like Carrey. She ends up placing safe.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: She's assigned the sin of Sloth for the sewing-challenge runway of the Sinner's Ball and crafts a brilliant quilted dressing-gown look, complete with bedroom slippers, a pillow accessory and an alarm clock fascinator, as well as clever makeup to suggest Exhausted Eye Bags. She places high for her efforts.
  • Whole Costume Reference: For the Made in Canada runway of episode 3, she portrays Canadian comedian Mike Myers in a Rule 63 take on his most iconic character, Austin Powers.

Kendall Gender (runner-up)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kendallgenderminipromo.jpeg

Age: 30
From: Vancouver, British Columbia

"Gender is a construct. The only one that matters is Kendall."

  • Call-Back: For the Made in Canada runway of episode 3, she portrays former Canada's Drag Race Season 1 judge and fashion model, Stacey McKenzie.
  • Don't Shoot the Message: In-universe. The judges were fully onboard with her desire to showcase her pride in traditional black body types for her Pride-themed Sinner's Ball look, but the outfit itself was ill-fitting, and less polished than her competitors' efforts, despite the message she tried to convey, which landed her in the bottom against Synthia.
  • Fighting Your Friend: After landing in the bottom 2 following the Sinner's Ball challenge, she has to lip-sync against her best friend both in and outside of the competition, Synthia, whom she ultimately sends home.
  • Girl Posse: Kendall is a member of the Bratpack, a group of Vancouver queens that also includes her seasonmates Synthia Kiss and Gia Metric. Downplayed on the show, as whilst the girls are chummy, they don't resort to any Rolaskatox-esque cliqueness.
  • Hidden Depths: Who'd have thought that mild-mannered Kendall would absolutely slay the Roast of Brooke Lynn Hytes challenge? Especially impressive, as not only is she a great Insult Comic, but unlike her fellow queens, she didn't stumble once and did it all without notes.
  • Impossible Hourglass Figure: Her Signature Style always includes a boldly projecting cleavage, a cinched waist and exaggerated Hartman Hips, in celebration, she tells us, of her black heritage.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: Takes her drag name directly from Kendall Jenner of the prolific Kardashian brood, with an added pun on her surname. For the Snatch Game, she portrays the Kardashian matriarch and infamous "momager", Kris Jenner.
  • The Pollyanna: Having endured drug and alcohol addiction, it'd be understandable if she were a little more world-weary, though Kendall exhibits an energetic, unshakeable positivity, always taking critiques with dignity, never succumbing to drama or throwing shade, and always getting on with the task at hand with a chipper, can-do attitude.
  • Recovered Addict: In confessional, and when talking with her fellow queens, she explains her previous problems with drugs and alcohol dependency. Now sober, she presents the open, chipper attitude often encountered amongst those who've conquered problems with addiction.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: She's assigned the sin of Pride for the sewing-challenge runway of the Sinner's Ball and crafts a purple satin gown with exaggerated Hartman Hips to take pride in the archetypally curvaceous figures of black women. She also applies a Gem-Encrusted BLM motif to the back of the outfit, to be seen as she exits the runway.

Pythia (runner-up)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pythiaminipromo.jpeg

Age: 26
From: Montréal, Québec

"Let's have tzatziki, motherfucker!"

  • Artsy Beret: Sports one in her out-of-drag confessional look, and it suits her perona as amongst the most artistically smart, inventive queens of the group, if her looks are anything to go by.
  • Gorgeous Greek: Pythia is a Greek Canadian, and invokes this trope for her finale look — a beautiful silver-grey ensemble designed so that her head and torso resemble a bust set on a Doric column from Ancient Greece.
  • Hairy Girl: Sports hairy legs, even in drag — and is proud of it.
  • Monster Clown: In the Under the Big Top Rusical of episode 2, Pythia plays "Hennywise" a Shout-Out to the terrifying clown Pennywise from It (2017). With her great vocals and creepy, energetic performance, she unsurprisingly steals the show and wins the week.
  • Multiple Head Case: For the Circus Berzerkus runway in episode 2, she creates one of the cleverest, most striking looks yet seen across the whole franchise, using a mannequin head painted and styled with her exact same makeup and wig to create a "Siamese twins" look that leaves the judges awe-struck.
  • Naughty Nuns: For the Good Girl Gone Bad runway, she enters the runway in a latex take on a nun's habit, which she then whips off to reveal a nude-illusion, Hot as Hell theme.
  • Our Centaurs Are Different: Pythia presents yet another incredibly creative look for the Dungeons & Drag Queens runway. She walks out onto the main-stage in what initially looks like an 1880s-style Gorgeous Period Dress complete with a large bustle, before turning to the side and whipping it off to reveal a brilliantly-constructed, fluffy pink centaur costume underneath, in which she trots about the runway, giving a suggestively sassy wiggle as she goes. Her expert craftsmanship saves her from the bottom after a stumbled Roast routine.
  • Pronouncing My Name for You: Informs the other queens that the proper ancient Greek pronunciation of Pythia puts emphasis on the "thi" syllable, and her name is therefore pronounced as "P'THEE-uh". For a while, no one in the cast follows her advice, always putting emphasis on the "Pyth" syllable in modern English, but in later episodes Brooke uses Pythia's preferred pronunciation.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming:
    • She's of Greek heritage, and takes her drag name from an ancient Greek oracle of the God of (among many other things) the sun, music and art, Apollo.
    • She further carries this over into the Prom Makeover challenge when paired with non-binary teenager Clover who becomes her drag-child Apollo, paying homage to a Greek god who is often considered the patron of same-sex love, as he had many male lovers and was often invoked to bless homosexual unions.
  • Robot Girl: Invoked for the Snatch Game where she portrays Grimes as a marker pen sniffing Cloudcuckoolander who may or may not be a robot.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: She's assigned the sin of Gluttony for the sewing-challenge runway of the Sinner's Ball and crafts a brilliant Spoiled Brat look in cutesy pink gingham, with various cakes, pastries and sugary icing smeared down her apron, as well as makeup to suggest an engorged, nauseated look. She even does a Vomit Discretion Shot into the wings as she enters the runway.
  • Textile Work Is Feminine: Pythia proudly admits that she made all of her outfits for the show, and is frustrated when she can't seen to win any of the show's design challenges, while Icesis Couture does. However, come the Prom Makeover challenge of episode 8, where the queens are challenged with creating looks for themselves and their LGBT+ teenager partners, Pythia decides to make both hers and her drag-child Apollo's outfits from scratch, even though the queens were allowed to use an outfit they had already brought to set. The judges are suitably impressed with her extra efforts and she goes on to win the week.
  • Whole Costume Reference: Her Made in Canada runway look is inspired by Canadian actress Catherine O'Hara's role as Moira Rose in Schitt's Creek, though her look doubles as a Show Within a Show, as she plays Moira playing Dr. Clara Beatrice Mandrake from the Season 5 arc where Moira shoots a tacky disaster movie. The judges love the deep reference and she gets a high placement.

Icesis Couture (winner)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/icesiscoutureminipromo.jpeg

Age: 34
From: Ottawa, Ontario

"Did hell just freeze over? Because the ice queen has arrived."

  • British Royal Guards: She's the first queen in the series to be based out of the Canadian capital of Ottawa, so for her Queen of Your Neighbourhood runway, she goes with a Rule 63 version of a Ceremonial Guard (complete with red military jacket and accompanying regalia, as well as a Bearskin cap), whose uniforms originate from the UK's monarch's guards (as Canada, as a member of the Commonwealth, also recognizes the monarch of the United Kingdom as Sovereign).
  • Eccentric Artist: Her performance in the Twerk of Art mini-challenge of episode 6 is a masterclass in mad-eyed, wangsty mayhem which concludes (after she's talked us through her deranged masterpiece) with her burning her painting in a toxic-waste bin then commando-rolling away, screaming in terror.
  • Gayngst-Induced Suicide: In a confessional interview during the Prom Makeover challenge, Icesis reveals that due to the homophobic abuse she suffered at school and at home, she had attempted suicide and was involuntarily committed. Hearing that her makeover partner Makayla has also encountered transphobia, Icesis promises her she will never be alone and fully invites her into her drag family after the show as the newly dubbed 'Ruby Couture'.
  • History Repeats: Winning a season despite two bottom placements doesn't happen very often across the franchise, but with Icesis winning, Canada's Drag Race has two winners in a row (from Ontario, no less!) who were in the bottom twice, and still won the crown.
  • Hospital Hottie: For the Made in Canada runway, she sports a dragged-up take on a classic nurse’s uniform in mint green in celebration of Canadian actress Sandra Oh’s role as Dr. Christina Yang in the hospital drama Grey's Anatomy.
  • Icon of Rebellion: For the Snatch Game, she portrays Cristina "La Veneno" Ortiz Rodríguez, a Spanish singer, actress, sex-worker and media personality who is considered a pioneering trans icon in terms of bringing visibility to those who identify as transgender. Icesis' look is spot on, capturing La Veneno's sultry, suggestive style, though her humour is a little too flat for her to land anything other than safe. Coincidentally, in 2021 La Veneno was also the theme of a tribute runway in the first season of Drag Race España.
  • Overly Long Gag: She's very funny in the Roast of Brooke Lynn Hytes, but writes so many jokes and goes on for so long that production eventually has to cut her off before she's even gotten around to roasting Brooke Lynn Hytes.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Due to her heavy eyes and bold makeup choices, including a penchant for a full, downturned lip line, Icesis presents as permanently pissed-off looking, though in fact, she's quite a jolly, eccentric queen.
  • The Rival: To Pythia, who keeps coming up short to Icesis in design challenges. Icesis is somewhat coolheaded about it and doesn't take it too seriously.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: She's assigned the sin of Wrath for the sewing-challenge runway of the Sinner's Ball and crafts an expertly-designed, Hellraiser-inspired Leatherman look that would stand up against the horror-themed stylings presented by the queens on Dragula.
  • Shared Family Quirks: She has a younger brother who also does drag under the name Savannah Couture.
  • Signature Style: A bold, overly-drawn, downturned lip in darker shades and sultry, miserable looking eyes.
  • Textile Work Is Feminine: Proudly admits that she has made all of her outfits for the season and effortlessly slays both the season premiere's Haute Check Couture runway challenge in an outfit made partially from coat check tickets and the Sinner's Ball in episode 6 in a Wrath-themed outfit that wouldn't look out of place in Hellraiser.
  • Uncanny Valley Makeup: Icesis has a very distinctive Signature Style, consisting of incredibly long, ferny lashes and a full, downturned lip, though on occasion she takes things up a notch, adding blotches of makeup all over her face and bare skull, and even a dental mouth-brace to lend a full-on horror vibe — as seen in her finale look.
  • Whole Costume Reference: For the "Sex, Drugs and Rock 'n' Roll" runway of the Sinner's Ball, she sports an 80s riot of gaudy pink neon spandex and zebra print, topped off with a huge neon green hair-metal mullet, in tribute to Pizzazz, the evil lead-singer of The Misfits and arch-enemy of Jem and the Holograms.
