    The Element of Courage
  • Though it was absolutely miserable for him, Flash managed to survive on the streets all by himself before being brought into Twilight's family. That takes considerable skills for a kid his age.
  • Flash manages to impress Grand Hoof shortly after meeting him and becomes his apprentice within just one day.
  • Despite being outmatched by Nightmare Moon Flash continues to charge her and hold her off while telling Twilight and the others to run. This act is so courageous that it ends up creating a brand new element of harmony, the Element of Courage!
    Flash: A knight...never...flees...his foe. Right?
Nightmare Moon: How noble. But don't you know little stallion? Chivalry is dead!
Flash: It was never about chivalry for me. I've just gotta do what I've gotta do, that's all.
Nightmare Moon: And what must you do?
Flash: Protect my friends. AND STOP YOU!
Flash Sentry, Defender of the Peace S 1
  • Flash saving Springer from a group of Timberwolves in the Everfree Forest, and Springer later saving a group of young foals from a rock slide, using an aura sphere to destroy a large boulder and the resulting debris destroying the other falling rocks.
  • Flash is given a weapon used by the Royal Knights, a Celestic Gear. A weapon forged of pure ali corn magic that allow a knight, even non-unicorns, to use magical attacks to face stronger enemies. Flash's gear is extra special since it was not just forged by Celestia's magic, but Luna's and Cadance's too, having the magic of all three current alicorns!
  • Flash defeats Shake Shocker by continuously taunting him and tricking him into blasting away the support pillars of his hideout and have it all collapse on top of him.
  • Flash passing the Great Test and proving he is capable of being a leader. He is stripped of his ability to fly during the test and is given three tasks to complete while Grand Hoof oversees him. He completes the first task of scaling a mile high mountain using nothing but his own strength. He completes the second task of finding an emblem piece using only three clues given to him, showing his intelligence. The final task is to find a safe way across a 20 feet wide pool of lava without any hints. After thinking it over Flash concludes there is no way he can safely cross it, believing he has failed the final task. Grand however reveals he has passed since the final task was impossible and it was meant to test if he could judge if he should attempt it or not.
  • "The Misadventures of Springer" give Springer a Day in the Limelight, showing him protecting Ponyville while Flash is gone for two days. Eventually he chases after a robber that stole Bon-Bon's bag and in the process learns his Bone Breaker attack. He defeats the robber while the citizens cheer him on.
  • Flash and Iron Core's expedition match at the Grand Galloping Gala. Iron holds the advantage for most of the match, brushing off most of Flash's attacks and being physically stronger than him. Flash however manages to get a few moves in too by using his Celestic Gear's magic, catching Iron off guard. Eventually time runs out for their match and it is declared a draw.
  • The entire Battle of Canterlot.
    • Lightning Blitz interrupts the Fantasia Festival, declaring himself the new ruler of Equestria while under the influence of the Alicorn Amulet. He shows that he has already armed his friends with several forbidden spells and they turned the Mane 6 and Princess Cadance to stone off-screen, and he traps Grand Hoof and the princesses using a magic rune to prevent them from interfering.
    • The magic runes around the city force the civilians to fight each other in order to get to Lightning and his friends. Turning friends against each other and slowly wearing down their numbers.
    • Ligntning's friends, Solid Script, Wild Smile, and Gorgenia, each show themselves to be massive threats too by defeating Trixie, Soarin, Big Mac, and Shining Armor during the fights around town.
    • The heroes finally make a comeback when Cadance is freed from her stone prison and defeats Gorgenia, freeing the Mane 6 from their own imprisonment. But Lightning, instead of admitting defeat instead prepares to use his father's creation, the Thunder Tomb to destroy Canterlot unless his demands are met within his time limit.
    • Pinkie Pie showing to be a Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass by easily defeating Wild Smile. Outmaneuvering him at every turn and tricking him into accidentally destroying a Thunder Tomb so he will get zapped by it.
    • Twilight overpowering Solid Script and his magic runes in their own battle.
    • Flash and Iron working together to defeat Lightning, even as he is powered by the Alicorn Amulet and using several dangerous spells against them. The fight ends with Flash attacking Lightning himself and punching him several times in the chest, destroying the Alicorn Amulet in the process.
    Flash Sentry, Chaos and Disharmony
  • Flash's mysterious powers appear again. First they protect his wings from being removed by Discord on the first try, forcing the draconequus to focus to remove them. Then they appear again to save Flash from Discord's mind games and save him from being mind screwed by helping Flash remember serval childhood memories. Flash's resistance to his magic actually makes Discord confused for a moment and try to figure out what's going on, showing that he's not as in control of the situation as he claims to be.
  • With most of the girls corrupted and Twilight all but out of faith in the situation, Flash and Springer go to confront Discord themselves. Despite being outmatched by the Lord of Chaos, Flash manages to keep him off balance and actually manages to anger Discord by turning his own jokes and laughter against him to the point Discord starts having a Villainous Breakdown. The whole thing also serves as a Shout-Out Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker which featured a similar "The Reason You Suck" Speech against the titular villain, which fans use to compare Discord to back in his villainous days.
Discord: Alright, you made your point funny guy! Real funny...
Flash: Can't say the same for you. I haven't laughed once this entire time, and everypony thinks I have a great funny bone
Discord: Annoying little brat! Come out right now!
Flash: What's the matter? Can't hit the broad side of the good old chaos barn?
Discord: Shut your mouth! No one makes fun of me, no one!
Flash: Oops! Looks like you missed again. Too bad! Missed again! Looks like the old stone statue bit made you loose your aim. That or you never had any lessons to begin with. Though to be fair, you're not that good with the chaos stuff anyways, are you? I mean, there's nothing but junk that's not even worth mentioning around here and you still can't find me.
Discord: Oh shut up! Don't think you can upstage me colt! I am chaos incarnate!
Flash: No, I think you're just whiny baby who can't seem to figure out who he really is. Yeah...I think I'm right. You're just a clown who doesn't get how to cope with anypony.
Discord: Don't play psycho analyst with me birdbrain. I am chaos! There's no way you can understand the beauty of my power.
Flash: Oh yeah? Is that why you chose to make Ponyville the chaos capital instead of Canterlot? You know, because its an easier place to set up shop than a city full of humorless tightwads?
    Discord: What do you know?
Flash: I know that the real reason you're doing all this is because all you want is attention. That's all you really wanted, isn't it?
    Discord: I'm not hearing this...
Flash: Wake up, you oversized jigsaw puzzle! Isn't it obvious? You just want someone to laugh at your dumb old chaos, which makes perfect sense as to why you would leave Canterlot. The whole place is nothing but humorless droning nobles...that and stone-faced guards. Though to be fair, I'm a guy who can laugh at anything and I'm not finding you to be in the least funny. At all.
    Discord: Shut up. Shut up!
Flash: I mean, look at what chaos is to you! There's chocolate rain, cotton candy clouds, animals with slightly longer legs...yeah, I know what that is. Boring! that's what it is! Where's your A material? You have all this power and you can't even be remotely funny?!
Discord: Show yourself! Come out and face me right now!
Flash: You make me laugh, but only because I think you're kind of pathetic. (Flash begins to laugh and Discord literally turns red with anger)
Discord: Cut it out! Stop that!
Flash: What's the matter? Can't take a joke? Or are you mad because the only funny joke I can find with you is that you're a big old baby?
Discord: Stop it! (Discord plugs his ears with his horns) Stop laughing at me! Stop it right now!
Flash: Why?! Don't you want ponies to laugh at your stuff?
    Discord: I SAID SHUT UP!
Flash Sentry, Defender of the Peace S 2
  • During a training exercise, Flash and Springer get caught in a storm but discover a new aura power where Flash is able to see through Springer's eyes. They use this new power to make it through the storm uninjured and save a group of Flufflepuffs. Also, when Flash and Springer reunite with Twilight and the others, they discover that Springer can suddenly talk, meaning he can now speak to everyone instead of just Flash.
  • Soarin and Rainbow's race in "The Skies the Limit". One of the highlights being Soarin demonstrating the Theta State to completely dodge a rock slide, shooting past Rainbow in the process and forcing her to do a Sonic Rainbow to catch up to him. Soarin ends up winning the race just by an inch.
  • The rules during the contest against the Flim Flam brothers in "Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000", there is a slight expansion in the rules. The contest is divided into two rounds. The first round is cider making like it was in canon, except each team gets one point for each barrel they make, the second is quality testing, where both teams will pick three of their opponent's barrels and those barrels will be pitted in three one on one tests and the team that wins the taste test gets an addition 10 points for a total of 30 points available in the round. Though the Flim Flam brothers win the first round, with 95 barrels to 78, the rule of the opponent choosing which barrels to use for the taste test portion forces the Flim Flam brothers to use the bad cider they made from rushing. Thus, unlike in canon where the Flim Flam brothers quickly ran off after technically winning, here they officially lose the contest fairly.
  • When Scootaloo is stung by a Scorpentine in "Into the Forest", Flash is determined to make sure she will survive by hunting down the Scorpentine to get its venom for the cure. He is joined by Rainbow Dash and even gets help from two Royal Knights who come to Ponyville to visit, First Aid and Heather Bloom.
  • Springer's second focus chapter, "The Misadventures of Springer 2: Dreams of a Jakhowl", where he goes to Appleloosa to investigate the possibility of another jakhowl due to Princess Luna repeatedly seeing one in the dreams of a filly that lives there. Though Springer discovers that the "jakhowl" there is actually a creature called a "trickster", the natural enemies of the jakhowls, named Shade. Despite Shade's dirty tricks of controlling the citizens and buffalo to fight Springer for him, Springer still manages to win with his new power, Steel Paw. Though Shade manages to escape, Springer says he'll be ready for the next time they meet and he'll be sure to bring him in.
  • Flash realizes that Cadance, actually Chrysalis in disguise, is not acting like her usual self, just like Twilight did. He manages to trick her into revealing herself by asking her if she remembered when she taught him how to fly and he crashed into a carrot dog stand, an incident that never actually happened. When she says she remembers, he realizes she is a fake.
  • The Scorpentine that stung Scootaloo is in the caves beneath Canterlot, acting as a guard for the prisoners Chrysalis puts there. When Flash, Twilight, and Cadance encounter it during their escape it remembers Flash and wants revenge against him for what he did to it before. Flash uses this to his advantage, telling Twilight and Cadance to go on ahead while he deals with it alone.
  • Ever since seeing Soarin use the Theta State, Flash trained himself to try to use it to throughout the remainder of the season. During his battle with the Scorpentine, he finally manages to use it himself. Except unlike the normal Theta State, which only lasts a few seconds, this version seems to last indefinitely and Flash can control when to activate it whenever he wants. Thus, this version is called the Theta Mode.
    Flash Sentry, Crystal Darkness
  • The return of the Crystal Empire includes the return of another Royal Knight who was inside the empire when it vanished, Ruby Scarlet.
  • Sombra is a much bigger physical threat than he was in his canon debut.
    • Not only does he managed to defeat Ruby in a one on one battle, he manages to do the same to Flash too, being the first antagonist in the series to completely overwhelm Flash, even when he and Ruby team up against him. He nearly kills Flash, leaving a giant X shaped scar across his chest.
    • Sombra nearly overwhelms Cadance in a Beam-O-War in the climax, but Flash and Ruby use the last of their strength to stay conscious and blast Sombra from behind with their Celestic Gears, distracting him long enough for Cadance to overwhelm him.
Flash Sentry, Defender of the Peace S 3
  • When Spitfire is going to make Lightning Dust the lead pony and Rainbow her wingpony, Soarin manages to convince her to switch their roles, by convincing her it will be the best for both Rainbow and Lightning. Not only does he end up helping Rainbow with this, he shows he isn't afraid to call out Spitfire when he feels she is making a mistake, pointing out she was playing favorites with Lightning Dust because she reminded Spitfire of herself when she was in the academy.
  • Lightning Dust's attitude with Rainbow Dash gets worse and worse due to Rainbow being made lead pony instead of her, with her disobeying all of Rainbow's orders to try to one-up her and getting punished by Spitfire each time. Eventually, Rainbow loses patience when Lightning's tornado stunt almost gets her friends killed and she doesn't care at all, and ends up tackling and pinning her down, screaming that caring about others is basic "ponanity".
  • When Gremlins invade Ponyville and nothing anyone does is able to stop them and their pranks, Pinkie comes up with an idea on how to get rid of them, Beat Them at Their Own Game. Instead of trying to catch them, they just ignore their pranks and lure them into their own pranks, forcing them to leave in humiliation.
  • Flash, Iron, and Springer are all summoned to go on an official mission with most of the other Royal Knights to stop Grand Hoof's son, Doom Raizer, from obtaining the Omni Sphere and gaining its magic.
  • Flash has an aerial battle against one of Doom Raizer's followers, a bat pony named Toxic. Toxic can harm anyone with his poison just by touching them, so Flash struggles for most of the fight and his unable to land a solid hit due to Toxic's speed as well. Despite all the damage he takes from the poison, and eventually gets Toxic to stay still by grabbing his hoof. Fighting through the pain the whole time he holds on to Toxic, Flash blasts Toxic with his Gear at pointblank range, with Toxic only able to scream to let him go. The blast shoots Toxic through the sky, sending him crashing through several towers and the third to collapse on top of him. Toxic himself realizes that all it took for Flash to beat him was one shot.
  • One of Doom Raizer's servants, Hiveena. She is the daughter of Chrysalis and true heir to the Changeling throne. Unlike the other Changelings, including Chrysalis, Hiveena can perfectly copy the magic of any creature she changes into, including the knowledge of how to use it. She was actually so powerful that Chrysalis herself saw her as a threat and ordered her killed, with her only escaping thanks to help from Thorax. She manages to give Ruby and Heather a tough time during their battle, but they ultimately push her to her very limit to the point she causes her own defeat when she ends up dropping her most powerful attack on herself due to going beyond her limit and not having the energy to toss it at Ruby and Heather.
  • Grimhorn the minotaur nearly overwhelms Skybreaker, Iron, and Tidal with his pure strength and thirst for battle, practically going crazy when they manage to injure him even slightly. Skybreaker however, manages to defeat him with his most powerful attack, Sky Force Exceed, striking Grimhorn with a giant tornado. Tidal himself even describes this as an ultimate Celestic Gear attack, something only the strongest of knights can achieve.
  • Shade is revealed as the final servant of Doom Raizer. He allowed himself to be subjected to Doom's experiments to unlock his battle form at such a young age. He quickly manages to capture all the knights with his shapeshifting powers, and nearly overpowers Springer. Springer however, proclaiming his resolve to protect his friends, unlocks his own battle form, the youngest jakhowl to ever do so naturally, and proceeds to Curb Stomp Shade. This feat actually manages to impress Skybreaker, who apologizes to Springer for everything he said to him before and offering to recommend to the princesses to put him on the short list for becoming an official Royal Knight.
  • Doom Raizer overpowers the knights when they finally face him, and takes Flash's Celestic Gear, Lightbringer, claiming it belongs to him since his wife, Live Wire, was the one who created it. As Doom prepares to kill Flash, Flash doesn't react at all to Doom, and when Doom asks him if he is even afraid, Flash glares and answers that he is terrified by refuses to give Doom the joy of seeing it.
    • This moment is immediately followed by Lightning Blitz blasting into the room to save Flash and the knights, revealing he had been helping them from the shadows all day and that he is there to stand against his father.
  • Doom Raizer uses the Omni Sphere to transform into a colossus form and drains Grand and his Celestic Gear of their magic. The rest of the knights still stand together, and rush in to battle Doom while saying Grand's Catchphrase: "Now... COUNT UP YOUR SINS!" What follows afterwards is an entire chapter of the knights facing the giant Doom, climaxing in Flash encouraging everyone else to keep going, with each knight tearing into Doom and basically tell him he is just a foal throwing a tantrum as they use their weapons to restrain him and slowly drain the magic he has back in the sphere with Flash delivering the final blow against him.

    Flash Sentry Chronicles: EQG
  • Flash manages to win an argument with Celestia on why he should join Twilight on her journey through the mirror.
  • Flash, despite struggling with his new body just as much as Twilight, manages to score a goal against Rainbow Dash in their soccer game.

Flash Sentry, Defender of the Peace S 4
  • Flash and Scootaloo finally reunite with their birth parents in "Family Reunion". Though Flash spends most of the time mad at them at first for abandoning him and Scootaloo, he eventually comes around in time to help save his entire family from a pack of Timberwolves. Even having a brief glimpse of a new mysterious power while protecting them. Also, facing his fears and forgiving his parents unknowingly earns him an item that will become one of the keys to unlock the chest.
  • While Spike and the Mane 6 have their Power Ponies adventure, Flash, Springer, Iron, and Trixie have a similar adventure when they are sucked into Springer's Kamen Pony comic. This also ends up helping Trixie overcome her Inferiority Superiority Complex.
  • When the Mane 7 meet Daring Do, she reveals she knows Flash's parents. She later says that since he is their son she knows she can trust him, and he is the only one she initially accepts coming along with her on her adventure.
  • Springer goes to hell and back in "Jakhowl-Day" due to suffering from a "Hedgehog Day Loop". But in the final loop, when it seems that the town is once again going to be destroyed with the loop broken, Springer is willing to sacrifice himself to contain the explosion and save all his friends. Luckily, his life is revealed to never have actually been in danger, but this act is ultimately what allows him to finally end the loops and wake up. He also shows that he still has all the skills he developed while he was stuck in the loops.
  • Iron Core's arc comes full circle in the two parter "Iron's Revenge". When Iron learns that Longhorn, the murderer of his parents, has escaped prison, he sets out to his last known sighting to hunt him down and get his revenge. His first encounter doesn't go well, with him getting Curb Stomped by Longhorn, his Gear getting broken in two, and Fluttershy getting kidnapped. After Iron regains consciousness, Flash calls him out on his recklessness and for being so willing to get himself killed. When Iron eventually catches up to Longhorn, despite Longhorn being even stronger than he was before due to finding the strength increasing plant he was after, Iron finally realizes that all these years his hatred was just holding him back. Instead of fighting with hate to simply stop criminals like Longhorn, he decides to fight to protect everyone he loves like Fluttershy, and his gear responds to his realization by changing from its regular spear form into a suit of armor for Iron, that can change parts of itself into different weapons, allowing him to easily defeat Longhorn. Afterwards, Skybreaker recognizes how far Iron has finally come, and shortly afterwards he is officially knighted as the newest Royal Knight. Iron truly went from a jerk who only wanted to stop criminals and saw civilians as weaklings for not being able to defend themselves, to a true hero who is now willing to risk his life to defend everyone he loves.
  • "How To Train Your Flash Sentry 101" has everyone trying to bring out Flash's mysterious powers that he has demonstrated briefly several times before. After several failed attempts, their final plan is to try to recreate one of the previous scenarios it activated in, by having him fight against a unicorn, a pegasus and an earth pony. The three ponies they choose as his opponents? Lightning Blitz, Soarin, and Iron Core. Flash is quickly overwhelmed by his opponents at first, until the pressure successfully activates his powers, allowing him to defeat them with one attack each. Though unfortunately, they discover afterwards that this form is so strong it overloaded Twilight's device that was going to scan it, meaning they ultimately learned nothing about it except for getting a brief shot of it with a camera.
  • Tidal Wave gets A Day in the Limelight in "A Pirate's Life For Me". He leads Flash and the Mane 7 in defeating a group of pirates, and defeats their leader Dreadbeard in one on one combat himself.
    • When interrogating one of the pirates, Tidal shows a surprisingly vicious side by cutting off his oxygen to get him to reveal the information he needs. When Twilight tries to call him out on this he simply tells her I Did What I Had to Do. Twilight seems to have taken his words to heart, since later during a battle with Dreadbeard's pirates, she knocks several of the pirates overboard into the water for threatening her friends and then zaps them with an electric spell, not enough to kill them, but enough to knock them out. Even Rainbow calls it brutal.
  • When Lightning Blitz and Solid Script are framed for having stolen a famous painting, the Mona Lipizzaner, and the police are too lazy to investigate any further, Flash and Discord work together to handle the investigation themselves. They interrogate all the suspects, search the area for any clues, and eventually reveal who the real culprit is just like in a detective movie.
  • When Tirek goes on his rampage after making his return, and drains nearly every other pony of their magic, including the Royal Knights, Flash, Springer, Lightning Blitz, and Trixie eventually make their stand against him in Ponyville. This includes several great moments, like Trixie demonstrating she has learned ice magic after her comic adventure in "Kamen Pony" and Flash and Springer finally getting their Combination Attack they have tried to do all season; using Flash's light magic to reflect the light around Springer's Aura Blast and turn it invisible, striking Tirek in the face. Flash even once again taps into his mysterious golden power and manages to overwhelm Tirek with it. He likely would have defeated Tirek all by himself with it, had he not once again frozen before delivering the final blow, allowing Tirek to counterattack.
    Flash Sentry Chronicles, Rainbow Rocks
  • When Sunset confronts the Dazzlings in the hallway, Flash is there to back her up. After Adagio tries offering him to join them when they are done with the school, and pointing out that her sister Sonata likes him, Flash once again doesn't hesitate in shooting her offer down, just like he did to Sunset in his first visit, and with much better results.
  • Flash gets a few minor moments when he calls out several of the Brainwashed and Crazy competitors on their bad attitude and poor sportsmanship:
    • After the Royal Knights are eliminated in the semi-finals and all begin to blame him for the loss he tells them to just get over it and leaves them to check on his friends, saying that spell or no spell he is disgusted by what they have become.
    • When Trixie mocks the Rainbooms backstage and taunts Sunset for tackling Rainbow in a "fit of jealous rage", Flash defends Sunset by saying she is trying to change and points out Trixie doesn't have any place mocking others for their mistakes since she and her band cheated in the first round. He also claims that he likes his world's version of Trixie better since she is a lot nicer.
Flash Sentry Chronicles, The Forgotten Darkness
  • After the origins of the Jakhowls have been shrouded in mystery ever since Springer's debut, this story finally shows what happened to them and the Tricksters of the past, showing how Springer and Shade became the last of their kind.
  • Credit where it is due for Shade, after escaping capture from the Royal Knights in Omniara, he managed to make his way back to Equestria, survive all by himself, and spent months building his machine to trap the Mane 7 and drain them of their magic. Then when he was ready, he managed to infiltrate Twilight's castle and kidnap Springer and the Mane 7 immediately after Flash and Twilight return from the human world, right from under the noses of Lightning and Iron.
  • Dark Mist proves himself to be quiet the Manipulative Bastard. Before the Final Battle between the Jakhowls and Tricksters, Dark Mist warned Sharp Paw and Luna to revoke the law against Tricksters, or he'd use a new power to destroy every Jakhowl. This made Sharp Paw paranoid, and before the battle he connected his aura with that of every other Jakhowl to give himself a power boost. This turned out to be exactly what Dark Mist wanted him to do, since even if he was weaker than Sharp Paw was now, all he needed to do was tag him with one of the special runes Vile Rune had created to make him part of the sacrifice, and since his aura was connected to every other Jakhowl they all became part of the sacrifice too. Dark Mist managed to wipe out nearly an entire race just by anticipating his enemy's actions and using his own mind games.
    • He even gets one after his own death due to his contingency plan. Although he was perfectly willing to sacrifice himself and every other Tricksters to ensure the destruction of the Jakhowls, it turns out he chose one young Trickster, who showed a deep desire to kill some Jakhowls himself, to carry on should the plan somehow fail and any Jakhowls survive. Its revealed when Flash destroyed the Alicorn Amulet he unknowingly freed one Trickster from it, and that Trickster, the very same that was chosen by Dark Mist so long ago, was Shade!
  • Despite Vile Rune's boasts that the Alicorn Amulet will make him the strongest pony alive, it ends up being a Power Up Let Down when Luna utterly delivers a Curb-Stomp Battle to him, showing just how powerful she really is. Then when she realizes she can't remove the amulet herself, she infiltrates Vile's dreams while he is unconscious and tricks him into removing it himself in his sleep.
  • Throughout Springer and Shade's battle, Shade constantly tries to gloat to Springer, only for Springer to interrupt him each time by punching him in the face! A hilarious Running Gag? Yes. An awesome moment for Springer giving Shade what he deserves? Definitely.
    • After Shade eventually yells for Springer to stop doing that, the next time Springer interrupts him is with a Groin Attack instead.
  • When it seems like Springer is beaten by Shade, Twilight eventually manages to figure out that Shade can't drain them of all their magic like he claims he can, because he would have done it already if he could and they are all still alive despite him already creating a new Alicorn Amulet like he was trying to do. So they all manage to break out of the machine by using their Rainbow Magic, like when they beat Tirek, and use it to recharge Springer. This gives him his Mega Form and a Heroic Second Wind, allowing him to decimate Shade and destroy his amulet.
  • With the reveal that Springer is Sharp Paw and Calm Paw's son, and was the egg seen in the flashbacks, it shows just how powerful Luna's protection spell was, allowing him to survive a spell that was meant to kill his entire species and survive inside the Tree of Harmony for over a thousand years, waiting for the day to hatch and meet his partner.
  • While Shade is imprisoned, Luna visits him and taunts him that now that the Jakhowls and Tricksters have returned to Equestria, it is her duty to add them back to the history books, and she plans to make sure that Dark Mist is remembered as the dumbest Trickster ever whose stupidity almost destroyed both races. Her taunting manages to actually get under Shade's skin, who is enraged that Luna would disrespect the Trickster he worships so much.
    Flash Sentry Chronicles, Our Town
  • The simulation room seen in the beginning, which lets the Defenders simulate battles in any location they want.
  • Flash's powers let him No-Sell Starlight's attempt to steal his cutie mark, and he manages to escape Starlight's trap and steal her "staff" from her.
  • Flash captures Double Diamond when he comes looking for him. While holding him hostage and interrogating him he manages to point out everything wrong with the village and its ideals, pointing out how they are all basically criminals now for what they did to his friends and holding them against their will, including a princess of Equestria, and that he should by all rights get reinforcements from Canterlot to tear the village to the ground.
  • After Flash and Fluttershy discover that Starlight is a fraud and still has her cutie mark, Flash actually manages to convince Double Diamond to help him and his friends by proving to him that Starlight has been lying to him, by asking him what Starlight's real cutie mark looks like.
  • The final chapter has Flash Sentry receiving a scroll from Grand Hoof calling to the Crystal Empire for a test to become a Royal Knight. After waiting for years, Flash Sentry finally gets the opportunity to become a Royal Knight.
Flash Sentry Chronicles, the Knight of Friendship
  • The first battle between Flash and the Royal Knight Cold Steel. Cold demonstrates his magic abilities, which appear to be ice versions of Ruby's magic style, until he shows that although he modeled himself after her he also changed things to specifically suit him. Not only can he make weapons out of ice, he also can create dynamic constructs out of ice to fight for him.
    • Flash is pushed to his limit during the fight. None of his old tricks seem to work on Cold, not even his Theta Mode. Cold freezes him alive and he only has 30 seconds to break out or he loses the match, until he manages to break out with his powers, the Sacred Light, awakening again. Flash probably would have won with that, had his powers not once again frozen on him in the middle of the fight.
  • When Cold Steel tries to prevent Twilight Sparkle from leaving the Crystal Empire to try to find Flash Sentry, because he believes Flash is a lost cause, Twilight proceeds to put him in his place, by reminding him that Equestria is made up of the ponies that live in its borders, that Flash Sentry has saved Equestria many times, and she uses her authority as a princess to get him to stand down and let her go rescue Flash from the mountains, while also making him stay quiet about where she has gone by threatening to use her authority as a princess to strip him of his knighthood if he doesn't obey her. She also tells him she knows why Grand wanted Cold to be Flash's opponent. It wasn't because Cold is a strong Knight, but because he is Flash's opposite. Cold starts to take it as a compliment and that Twilight finally understands what he has been saying, until Twilight explains she means Flash is better than him, because unlike Flash, Cold doesn't have any friends.
  • While traversing the mountains looking for Flash, Twilight gets ambushed by a Yeti. After holding it off for a while, Flash pulls a Big Damn Heroes moment, and together, they fend it off.
  • Flash’s Heroic Rematch against Cold Steel. He finally learns that the Sacred Light cannot be controlled, it can only be borrowed and can only be used in self-defense or to protect others, never for pure offense. And by borrowing its power, Flash is able to defeat Cold Steel, and pass his final test needed to become a Royal Knight.
Flash Sentry, Defender of the Peace S 5
  • Ponyville has become quiet the attraction due to being the home of the Princess and Knight of Friendship.
  • Double Take can create illusions so powerful they look and feel real. His boss, Wolf, forced him to join his criminal gang because he claimed he owed Wolf for saving him from life on the streets, until Iron convinced him to do the right thing and take control of his own life. Wolf attempted to escape only to end up caught quickly by Flash and his Sacred Light powers.
  • Lightning and his friends manage to defeat a gang of criminals who use Cutie Markers to change their talents. Each of them manage to quickly analyze what powers their enemies are using and find a weakness in it. They also each emphasize how they won by thinking outside the box and using stuff other than just what they specialize in as a talent.
  • Lightning manages to save Canterlot from an exploding crystal the criminals were planning to use. Using the spell he uses to teleport himself to where his knives are, he has his friends take one of his knives as far away as they can get it, with Wild putting it on one of the floats in Canterlot for the Fantasia Festival and have it float away from the city. Lightning then teleports himself and the crystal to where the other knife is, on the float high above the city, and then strikes it with his own magic to make it detonate before it can fall back to the city, willing to sacrifice himself in the explosion if necessary. Though, luckily Flash manages to save him from the ensuing explosion, with Lightning just needing some time to recover afterwards.
  • Flash and Cold defending a village from Gold Hoof and his goon's.
    • Gold Hoof tries to invoke a Sadistic Choice for them and the town, force everyone in town to sign documents that exonerate him of the crimes he has committed and hand their entire village over to him and have Flash and Cold sign another pair that makes it so they can't arrest him, or else he'll blow up the bridge with the paper bombs he placed on it and have his goons throw Swift into the sea, making it so they can't save both of them. Cold ruins his plans by taking a third option, pretending to go along with Gold's demands and sign the documents while ordering Flash to do so too, while discreetly using his magic to freeze the bridge's support beams sold, causing the paper bombs to go soggy and become worthless, and then freeze the documents themselves solid, forcing Gold to drop them in the sea and have Flash quickly rescue Swift.
    • With his plan ruined, Gold orders his goons to retreat and two pegasi thugs grab him to fly away while the rest row away in boats. Cold simply fires a spell at the lake, freezing it and causing spikes to shoot out of it that strike the two pegasi by their wings before ice wraps around them and Gold, trapping them.
    • There is also a villainous example for Gold's mysterious 'business associates'. When Gold is captured, he is quickly killed by the symbol they had on him causing him to blow up so Cold couldn't get any information out of him. The scene changes to show the villains watching the whole thing from an unknown location. The mysterious leader orders his two servants, Tempera and Armalum, to gather the rest of their forces as soon as possible, since he has now apparently taken an interest in Flash.
  • Flash quickly catches up to the angry mob that tries to storm Twilight's bed chambers and quickly puts them in their place, stating that doing so was an act of treason, and explaining how Twilight was not to blame for anything that happened in the last several hours.
  • In "Party Pooped", after several failed attempts to keep the Yaks calm, Iron questions if it is even worth trying to make friends with the Yaks since all they do is destroy everything around them, and Lightning doesn't see any benefit to befriending them. Twilight shuts them both down, saying that they can't judge an entire kingdom from the behavior of just a small group of ambassadors, pointing out how ponies like Big Score wouldn't set a good first impression for ponies, and that making friends isn't about gaining advantages, but it is simply her and Flash's responsibility to spread friendship as the Princess and Knight of Friendship. This also addresses some criticism fans have with the episode too.
  • The Knights defeating Slushy and her recruits Electra and Banshee in "Retirement".
    • Pinkie shoots confetti at Electra using her party bazooka and covering her mane in the stuff. Then when Electra uses her magic, the confetti in her mane is hit by the heat and catches fire. While Electra panics and tries to put it out, she is distracted long enough for Flash to knock her out.
    • Twilight sees a weakness in Banshee's screaming magic. She uses a silencing spell on her, since her magic enhanced her voice to make her screams so powerful, meaning she is powerless without it.
    • While everyone is distracted by Electra and Banshee, Slushy plans to sneak underground below her intended target and rob it blind. Everyone originally thinks the target will be the castle vault since that contains all the treasure in the castle, but her actual target is the research lab, which contains several rare magical items being studied. Grand however, was there waiting for her, having seen through her whole plan and correctly predicting everything she thought they would do before defeating her all by himself. Not a bad way to end his career as a guard before retiring.
  • Trixie reveals that she has been studying and learning how to perform dream magic herself, with the intent of helping Princess Luna with her duties in the dream realm. This allows her to travel through the dream realm with Luna and help her chase the Tantabus.
  • Thanks to Thorax, Hiveena is released from prison and slowly begins her own Heel–Face Turn, under the agreement that she and Thorax will help prepare Equestria for when Chrysalis makes her return and in exchange they will help her retake the hive from Chrysalis and be crowned the new Queen, with peace between the two nations.
  • The whole setup in "The Lost City". Flash receives a vision from the Sacred Light in a dream, showing him the location to the Lost City of Faust, the original home of the alicorns. It is agreed the team he will take with him is everyone he saw with him in the vision: Springer, Soarin, Trixie, Ruby, and Cold. Meanwhile, the mysterious cult that Cold has been investigating for so long finally make a proper appearance, including their mysterious master that had been hidden in shadow for the whole story, with each of them demonstrating their powers against a royal guard pony. Both teams head to the city, unaware of each other. The whole thing sets up for the next original story, with both these unique teams set to clash.
  • Twilight, Spike, and Starlight working together against the Evil Flash in his timeline. He tries to steal their time-travel spell so he can control going to different timelines, wanting to travel to every single one in the multiverse and kill the different versions of Flash in each one so he will be the only Flash in the multiverse. The three of them manage to lead him into one big game of "keep away" with the scroll all around the destroyed version of Ponyville using every means they have to outsmart him and keep him away from the spell. One noteworthy moment is Spike uses his breath to burn the scroll when he is cornered, but instead of this destroying it like the Evil Flash expects, it instead gets sent directly to Starlight, like how Spike sends letters to the princesses.
  • Throughout the whole chapter, the Evil Flash constantly boasts about how he is not just the best version of Flash in the multiverse, but the best pony period, who deserves to rule everyone. After he is outsmarted by Twilight, Starlight, and Spike, Twilight finally tears into him about how he is better than no one and is the worst version of Flash. She tells him that he might have power, but he is the only version of Flash who didn't rise above his past and became a bitter pony who had to put others down to feel better about himself, and wants to kill the other versions of Flash because he was jealous of how superior they were to him.
  • When Twilight, Spike, and Starlight begin to travel to the past one last time, the Evil Flash stubbornly tries to follow them through the tunnel, still trying to take the scroll from them. Starlight considers simply letting go of Twilight and stranding herself in the terrible timeline with this evil version of Flash to secure his defeat, but Twilight won't let her since the two of them are friends now, and instead the two of them join together and blast the Evil Flash backwards into the time tunnel, with him declaring that they haven't seen the last of him. Even after the timeline is properly restored, Twilight can't be sure they have permanently dealt with him since her understanding of time-travel is limited, and says it is just as likely he ended up somewhere else in time all together and they could deal with him again in the near or distant future.
    Flash Sentry Chronicles: Friendship Games
  • The human Flash Sentry is described as being The Ace for every sports team. He has only helped them each with one game, but he was the reason they won each of those games. He just chooses not to join a club or team full-time since he wants to focus on protecting Twilight.
  • The human Flash gets magic of his own due to the portal mistaking him for the pony Flash and zapping him with magic in an attempt to "recharge" him. He later uses his new magic during the race, helping Rainbow Dash fight off the magic plants.
  • Human Flash gets a small sample of the Sacred Light from his pony counterpart to help stop Midnight Sparkle.
Flash Sentry Chronicles: War of the Lost City
  • Flash's team briefly recount the two weeks they spent traveling and all they went through off-screen together during that time:
    • They fought living vines, which Ruby claims she still has a sore back from when they tried to completely wrap around her.
    • They crossed the ocean on a homemade raft and were almost sucked into a whirlpool.
    • Springer saved a clan of Breezies from some wolves and they treated him like their god. Springer himself claims that he was a fair ruler during his brief reign.
    • Cold Steel fell into a volcano and needed everyone to save him.
  • The first chapter ends with the cult arriving at the city shortly after the heroes do, but with an entire army of creatures at their command.
  • Flash's team takes on the Cult of Shadow's army, with it being revealed that the army is actually just Tempera's drawings brought to life with her magic.
  • The first official clash between Flash's team and the Cult of Shadow. Many of the heroes struggle against their opponents due to being caught off guard, even experienced knights like Ruby and Cold have trouble against their enemies. But eventually Flash manages to turn the tide of the battle in their favor with his Sacred Light powers, sending his enemy Wingill flying and crashing into a building, before he unleashes an attack of five bolts of light, each one shooting in the direction that the other fights are taking place and blasting the other cultists. Flash himself is then attacked by the leader of the cult, Shadow Corrupter, but Flash manages to trick the leader and destroy the mammoth he was riding on, sending him crashing to the ground and forcing him to fight him directly.
  • The end of the second chapter; right before Flash and Shadow can clash, both they and their respective teams are consumed by a sudden light and taken to the crystal chamber that both Flash and Shadow saw in their dreams. With everyone frozen for a moment, only able to move their heads. Suddenly, two lights, a black one and a golden one, surround Shadow's transport and Heart and Soul's house respectively, transforming them into giant castles located on opposite sides of the city and both teams sent to their respective castles. The war has just begun.
  • Whatever is making the two teams fight is apparently so powerful it has locked away Flash's and Shadow's powers.
  • The first battle between Flash and Shadow's teams in this "game" they are forced to play.
    • Both teams need to figure the "rules" out as they go, but three fighters for each time are randomly selected and transported to the city while the rest of the team watches from the castle.
    • Flash faces Storm in an epic aerial battle, with the two of them clashing blades and Storm stating that he was trained by Grand Hoof just like Flash.
    • While Flash battles Storm, Soarin and Trixie try to deal with Salix and Terror Card themselves. The two manage to come up with a clever hit-and-run strategy. While Trixie uses her magic to hide from Salix and Terror, she manages to use Teleportation Spam on Soarin, which along with his own speed makes him almost untouchable. They use this strategy to get Soarin to beat the crud out of the two cultists, delivering powerful blows to them and then teleporting away before they can counter. They even mix it up a bit, when Trixie teleports Soarin right as he is in the middle of attacking, making him change targets and confuse the cultists.
    • Flash manages to defeat Salix by blasting him at pointblank range, sending him flying into a building. When Salix's teammates go to check on him, the kirin ends up being Reduced to Dust in front of them.
    • Soarin manages to keep it together even as he is slowly being turned to dust like Salix, due to taking too much damage from Storm, and sees a strange glowing orb inside a building. While everyone else is distracted fighting each other, Soarin manages to pull himself to the orb and touch it. This instantly heals him and transports the fighters back to their castles, with Team Flash scoring the first official win.
  • Shadow is chosen for the second battle, and he quickly shows that even without his powers he is still not an enemy to underestimate, when he manages to defeat Cold Steel. He then manages to beat Springer in a final race to the orb, winning the battle for the cultists.
  • Both teams discover after the second battle that anyone reduced to dust during the fights doesn't actually die, they are just transported back to the castle to heal. This means that nobody on either side is in any (apparent) danger of being killed or killing someone and they can go all out.
  • Soarin and Cold managing to work together to defeat Storm and Terror, tricking them into thinking they are arguing with each other and positioning them so they end up blasting each other when they dodge out of the way of their attacks. Though despite their success and Cold learning the value of teamwork, it is still only a Pyrrhic Victory, since Tempera managed to find the orb completely unopposed while the heroes were distracted fighting.
  • After Wingill's defeat against Springer in the second battle, Shadow Corrupter experiments on him and his pearl shard to try to give him a new power. He succeeds, and Wingill discovers he can now control water. The other cultists are confused by this, since Wingill hates water, but he quickly proves to be quite deadly with this new ability regardless of how he feels about it.
  • Shining Soul is selected as a fighter for Team Flash in the fourth battle, to the shock of everyone, including herself. She seems like a liability at first, due to only being a filly and Flash and Ruby struggling to protect her. But after Flash is defeated saving her she reveals that she is an alicorn, and proceeds to defeat Salix, Wingil, and Armalum with a single shot! Then, since one team has all of its members defeated, the orb both teams were searching for suddenly appears in front of Soul and Ruby, giving Flash's team another win at last.
  • Trixie’s rematch against Terror Card. When the two first fought against each other, Terror Card gave her a brutal curb stomp along with a breaking speech about how weak she was. After Trixie figures out that Terror Card has the power to see the future, Terror Card tries to tell her that Shadow Corruptor is the only one who can decide his future, and that her future is set in stone, only for Trixie to prove her wrong and defy Terror Card’s future sight, and defeats her.
  • In the middle of one of the battles, another section of the city is suddenly cornered off and a second battle begins, with Cold guessing that whoever is in control of this game is trying to speed things up. Though this battle is given less focus than the other one, it is clear that Flash and the others are in top form during it. Flash and Springer absolutely trounce Storm and Wingill, showing the two of them what real teamwork is, and Cold toys with Salix the entire time, never struggling against him and showing him that Salix doesn't have the advantage over him he thought he did just because of their powers.
  • In "Soul’s Destiny", Shadow Corruptor’s luck finally runs out when he tries to absorb Shining Soul’s alicorn magic. As Shadow tries to drain her magic, a voice tells Shining Soul to let got of her fear and unleash her full power on him. When she complies, Shining Soul sends out a magical blast wave that knocks out Shadow Corruptor, along with Salix, while healing Ruby and Trixie, and securing another win for Team Flash.
  • Fire Heart gets his own moment in "Courageous Burning Heart", when Shining Soul gives him a power boost to help him fight alongside Flash and Cold. She grants him the ability to use fire magic, and together with a Combination Attack with Flash and Cold, knock out Salix and Storm Blade, giving Team Flash two victories in a row. And for a cherry on top, Fire Heart gets his cutie mark.
    • Taking place in the same chapter, Cold Steel's fight with Wingill before he helps Flash and Heart against Salix and Storm. Although Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors didn't do anything to help Salix against Cold, it certainly helped Cold against Wingill since he was able to freeze all of his water attacks. When Wingill eventually threw Cold in the lake to try to get an advantage over him, Cold simply created an ice platform underneath himself and let physics kick in and have the platform race him to the surface. After quickly catching his breath he quickly freezes the entire lake solid with Wingill inside it. Right before Wingill is turned to dust to indicate his defeat, Cold tells him that although he doesn't know what happened to him in the past to cause him to join Shadow, it doesn't give him the right to do the things he has done.
  • In the chapter "Discarded Honour", Shadow’s team won their fifth battle, allowing Shadow Corruptor to regain the power of the Corrupted Shadow. And when he’s chosen for the next battle in "Bonds", surely this means that Team Flash will be defeated right? Wrong! When Shadow fights against Springer, thanks to Springer remembering why he fights, he’s able to regain his Mega Form, and with it, he defeats Shadow Corruptor! Karma is still collecting its due.
  • After spending most of the story as Team Flash’s Butt-Monkey, Soarin finally wins his first true victory in "A Thief’s Tale" when he unlocks the Theta Mode, and uses it to defeat Wingill, forcing Terror Card to retreat.
  • Both parts of "Seven on One: The War's End" are basically two huge big battle royales happening at the same time. Flash and Shadow both take on the six other members of the opposing team by themselves.
    • Flash first defeats Armalum, constantly taunting him to make him angry and sloppy, only to lure him into a trap by tricking Wingill and Lightning into striking him and then finishing him off while he's in pain. Flash then manages to defeat Terror Card, making it so she can't keep healing the other cultists with her cards. He manages to get Wingill and Salix together before taking them both out at the same time. After an intense sword fight with Storm Blade, Flash defeats him in a Single-Stroke Battle, after telling him that Storm is not a knight and already gave up his pride a long time ago. Finally, he defeats Tempera with his ultimate attack. Just another battle for the Knight of Friendship.
    • As this is all happening, the rest of his team all put up their best fight against Shadow Corruptor. Though it is clear Shadow has control for most of the battle, none of Flash's team goes down without a fight. Some of their best moments were Ruby and Springier doing a Combination Attack on him, then the others trying to knock an entire building down on top of him, and Trixie using her illusions to create an army of Soarin as he attacks Shadow. Also, Flash arrives on the scene just in time to see Springer be the last one defeated, indicating that Flash managed to defeat the cultists faster than Shadow was able to defeat Flash's friends.
  • The final battle between Flash and Shadow. Faust transports them to a pocket dimension, allowing them both to go all out with their powers without fear of causing any damage to the world, where the loser will have their powers sealed away and the winner will be able to become either an alicorn or umbrum. The two clash with full force, giving it everything they have, during which Flash's sword gets broken and both he and Shadow are beaten down and begin bleeding heavily. The battle culminates with both of them fighting in their armored forms and having a Beam-O-War, with Flash managing to win thanks to the power of his friends and finishing off Shadow with his broken sword! Shadow is still standing after the blast, but is clearly struggling to do so and is bleeding heavily from his face and mouth, not even able to finish his taunt before finally collapsing face first. The war is finally over, and Flash has won!
  • When Shadow is unable to accept his loss against Flash, or allow his powers to be sealed away forever, Armalum temporarily puts himself on Shadow to give him a power boost, and Shadow tries to drain Faust herself of her magic. This does not go well for him, since Faust gives him a simple I Warned You, before easily overpowering him, giving him way more magic than he can handle at once. Then, as punishment for this, instead of just sealing the Corrupted Shadow away, she removes it from him entirely. She earlier compared this to losing a vital organ, but it was clear he pushed his luck too far for her to care anymore. She then teleports him and Armalum out of the city before they can do anything else, not sure if Shadow was alive or dead but confident that even if he is still alive he will be crippled and won't be a problem for Flash anymore.
    • She then mind wipes the rest of the cultists and teleports them out as well. She explains that she wiped their minds of everything but their names (including the aliases they gave themselves) believing that without Shadow's influence on them they might have a chance to better themselves and find redemption.
  • Faust attempts to keep her end of the deal before the final battle ,and make Flash an alicorn for his victory. Despite having the chance to become stronger than all four of the princesses combined and be ruler of Equestria, Flash politely declines the offer, saying he knows he isn't suit for the role and he just wants to protect Equestria, not rule it. Faust is touched by this noble choice, but believes he must be given something as a reward for his efforts, so instead she changes it to increase his Sacred Light powers, giving him a new armor, new powers to learn, and repairing his broken sword while giving it a new design.
Faust: May I present, the Shining Guardian!
  • Before leaving, Faust gives Springer the two eggs previously seen in the images she showed Flash, Sombra, and Shadow. She explains they are the last two Jakhowl eggs, and it will now be his duty to watch over them, and when they hatch he must mentor them, teaching them the ways of their species, as the first steps toward the restoration of the Jakhowls.
Flash Sentry, Defender of the Peace S 6
  • When the Crystal Heart is broken and an Endless Winter slowly invades the empire, Flash helps Celestia and Luna fight back the weather using his new Shining Guardian form.
    • Flash gets a small Badass Boast in when Shining Armor tries to stop him.
Shining: Are you nuts?! Didn't you not hear what Celestia just said? That storm is way more than any normal pegasus can deal with.
Flash: (transforms) I'm not your average pegasus.
    • Despite the form not being tested yet, Flash manages to keep up with the princesses. Later when they are slowly being overwhelmed, he accidentally activates one of his new powers, creating a giant alicorn avatar similar to the one used to beat the Dazzlings in Rainbow Rocks, and temporarily completely clear all snow from the empire.
    • Hiveena joins the three of them partway in and manages to keep up herself.
  • Ruby and Soul also help Starlight and the alicorns keep the Crystal Heart together with their magic, showing their magic is on par with the rest of them.
  • The Screebit actually manages to prove quite challenging. It grows to a massive size as a defense mechanism when it feels threatened, and in this form it is practically indestructible, not even noticing the Defenders attempts to stop it, including Flash's Shining Guardian form. Once it is explained that it needs citrus to maintain this form though, and that it will take days to return to normal after how much it has consumed so far, Heart has Twilight and Starlight surround him and the Screebit with a giant shield, and then he turns his fire powers up as high as he can, causing the Screebit to sweat out the citrus until it returns to normal.
  • The start of "Newbie Dash" has Rainbow reading a newspaper article about Soarin, who won his seventh straight race. Rainbow also says he did this without even using his Theta Mode. His flying has just gotten that much better since returning from the war.
  • During the race between Rainbow and Spitfire, they need to reach the center of the Lightning Labyrinth, a maze made entirely out storm clouds. While Rainbow gets lost in the maze, Spitfire easily manages to find the center by checking which path has more static electricity. By the time Rainbow gets to the center, Spitfire has already gotten out. How does Rainbow catch up after falling way behind? She flies through the maze as a shortcut, getting zapped along the way but breaking through the walls.
  • Rainbow Dash busts through a collapsing mountain with a Sonic Rainboom while carrying an injured Spitfire.
  • After Spitfire and Rainbow Dash just barely manage to survive an encounter with Quarry eels and a mountain falling on them, Spitfire thinks the directors are going to try to keep Rainbow out of the Wonderbolts through some loophole or force them to do it all over again. She threatens them that if they try to keep Rainbow from what she deserves anymore, then she quits the team, and the rest of the Wonderbolts make the same promise. Luckily, the directors were just trying to admit that Spitfire was right about Rainbow the whole time, and officially accept her into the Wonderbolts.
  • Flash and Lightning work together with Flash's godparents, Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood, to fight and imprison the Loucarcolh.
  • When Shining Soul's magic starts going crazy from stress, she actually manages to temporarily injure Discord, blasting a hole through his chest. Really emphasizes how much potential she has.
  • Fluttershy stands up to Cold Steel when he makes it clear he wants to kill the Fire Salamander to stop it from hurting anyone and points out all she has accomplished on the mission when he continues to dismiss her as useless. She at one point uses The Stare on him, making him flinch. She eventually gets through to him, making him go along with her plan.
  • Hiveena and Ruby working together throughout "The Bug and The Princess".
    • They track down the pony who attempted to kidnap Flurry Heart to Fillydelphia, with Hiveena finding the store they were looking for by looking in the mail directory.
    • Hiveena uses her shapeshifting abilities to turn into an attractive mare and lure their target outside, where she and Ruby ambush and interrogate him.
    • After finding out that the mastermind behind Flurry's attempted kidnapping is still in the castle, they set up a trap for him. When the mastermind attempts to assassinate Flurry in her sleep the next night, he instead finds Hiveena disguised as Flurry, stopping his blade right before he can stab her, and is immediately arrested by Ruby.
  • Shade finally returns in "The Misadventures of Springer 3: Springer the Teacher". He has clearly suffered from Sanity Slippage during his absence, and has an even bigger Villainous Breakdown when he learns that there are more Jakhowls around now. He ends up getting beaten by Springer once again with some help from Ace and Mira, reverting to his regular form in the process before once again running with his tail between his legs.
  • The entire battle against Mecca-Flash. It is such an unstoppable machine that is powered by the Corrupted Shadow and can hold its all against all the Mane 6 and Defenders. It actually gets to the point that they need help from the Princesses to deal with it. It is also revealed that the mysterious mastermind behind it is responsible for the bugs that have been biting the Royal Knights all season, and appears to have even more cyborgs ready.
  • Hiveena and Chrysalis having a Shapeshifter Showdown in "To Where and Back Again Part 2".
Flash Sentry Chronicles: Legend of Everfree
  • Unlike in canon, where Cadance replacing Cinch as Principal of Crystal Prep was only mentioned in passing, we hear a much more extended and detailed explanation of how it happened. Cinch tried to get the school board to shut down CHS by reporting that Celestia and Luna were doing "illegal student experimentation" and creating "magical super solider students". Of course, as was warned in canon, the school board didn't believe any of her ramblings about magic. When they were questioned, Celestia, Luna, Cadance, Ruby, and even all the Crystal Prep students denied witnessing any magic during the Friendship Games, making Cinch look even more crazy. This lead to her having a Villainous Breakdown, screaming that it was all true, until the school board forced her to step down from her position, classifying it as a "stress induced mental breakdown".
  • Flash confronts Timber Spruce to find out what his intentions with Sci-Twi are. He says although he won't interfere with the two of them, he warns that if he ever breaks her heart he will be on him like that, snapping his fingers. This is punctuated by him (accidentally) shooting lighting at Timber.
  • Flash training to control his powers, and gaining enough control within a day that he can fight Gaia Everfree one on one.
    Flash Sentry Chronicles: Dragon's Awakening
  • Malafear quickly establishes himself as a dangerous threat. He takes control of Flicker's body, defeats Ember, and brainwashes the entire dragon race to become his personal army.
  • Everyone in Ponyville fighting back against the invading dragon army. While the Defenders do most of the fighting and the Mane 6 get everyone to safety at Twilight's castle. Fluttershy manages to get in on the action though, growing to her giant size and using her giant wings to blow the dragons away.
  • Spike actually manages to get through to Ember when she is under Malafear's control, holding her hand through the barrier and freeing her.
  • Silverbolt's first appearance in the flashbacks, where he manages to save Starswirl from erupting lava and demonstrating his magic.
  • The entire battle in the Crystal Empire:
    • Malafear launches a full-scale assault on the city to capture Ruby, with the heroes only managing to get there so quickly thanks to an emergency Rune Gate.
    • When it seems like the Knights finally managed to defeat the Wood Dragon, Malafear summons two new dragons to assist it. A Lightning and Iron Dragon.
    • After realizing that their avatars can't harm the dragons alone, Springer and Flash end up combining them together to take on the dragons.
    • It is revealed that the dragons everyone has been fighting have actually been the Royal Knights Malafear has kidnapped, transformed by him into dragons. After he captures Ruby and transforms her too, all he needs is to capture Flash and turn him into a Light Dragon to continue his plans.
  • Ember stealing the Bloodstone Scepter from Malafear, freeing all the other dragons from his control and reclaiming her title of Dragon Lord in the process.
  • Spike manages to recreate the sealing spell that Silverbolt originally used on Malafear. Malafear is blasted by all of the ponies-turned-into-dragons he created that were previously freed from his control, with Ember joining in as the Fire Dragon, and Spike finishes it to seal Malafear away, willing to sacrifice himself to save everyone. Luckily though, Spike's soul is spared, since the last remaining piece of Silverbolt's soul that remained inside him substituted as the sacrifice for him.
Malafear: You think you can seal me away?! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!
Spike: I am Spike... Pyro Dragon, son of Silverbolt and Fira! AND I SEAL YOU AWAY!
(Lightning shoots off of Spike, engulfing him and Malafear in a blinding light)
    Malafear: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
    Grand Hoof: The Legend Begins
  • Seeing Grand Hoof and Doom Chaser in action as Royal Guards, with Grand personally taking down Big Score (the grandpa of the one we all know in the present) by dumping cement on him to trap him.
  • Grand and Doom fighting against Bomber and Technica for the first time, with Grand demonstrating he was even able to battle against opponents with powerful magic even without a Celestic Gear.
  • Doom Chaser scarifies himself to get rid of a giant stone slab that Bomber turned into a bomb, flying it into the sky to stop it from destroying Canterlot. This is similar to how Lightning Blitz did something similar back in Season 5, but sadly unlike Lightning, Doom did not survive this.
  • Grand manages to figure out who Bomber really is by recognizing the horn-writing when he left a warning message for him.
  • When Grand accepts his responsibility as a Royal Knight and uses his Celestic Gear at its full power, he manages to defeat Technica. With her legs crushed and some fuel nearby is ignited, Grand tells her if she answers his questions about who the real mastermind behind the Cutie Markers is, he'll save her. She refuses to answer anything though, believing he is obligated to save her. She is wrong, and when she won't tell him anything, he simply walks away, leaving her to die, as she starts panicking and begging him to come back and save her. Grand just keeps up his Unflinching Walk as Technica is consumed and killed in the explosion behind him.
  • The final battle between Grand and Bomber, his old friend Number Cruncher. By the end of it, Grand has fully accepted his role as a Royal Knight and vows to stop the Cutie Markers from ruining any more lives.
Flash Sentry, Defender of the Peace S 7
  • The opening chapter continues the storyline of the mysterious mastermind from Season 6.
    • Flash and his family are attacked by another cyborg at the carnival they are attending together. This one being a clone of Heather instead of himself this time.
    • Scootaloo ends up helping her family during the fight. First, when Mecha-Heather has Flash pinned with a giant spike and about to get him with some mini-claws, she fires a water gun from one of the booths at the cyborg, distracting it long enough for Flash to free himself. Later, when she sees her family struggling, she realizes the only thing strong enough to penetrate it is itself, grabbing the claw Flash decapitated earlier and slamming it into the cyborg's chest.
    • The mastermind, though frustrated by another failure, still has more trials planned, giving us a hint of what is to come when we see the progress of Trials T, R, G, and C. We also learn that this mysterious pony is also apparently named "Void".
  • Shining Soul manages to cure all of Ponyville of the plague, the same one that wiped out the Lost City of Faust. Her healing magic turns out to be her special talent, with it being so powerful that she could potentially become a princess with it someday if she wanted.
Celestia: I don't know about you, but the title of... Princess of Life, has a nice ring to it. Wouldn't you agree?
  • When Flash and Springer are attacked by another Trial sent by Void, Flurry Heart constantly struggles to get back and help them fight it, even ignoring the offer to play with her toy snail Whammy instead. Then when she arrives she makes quick work of the evil clone by blasting it with her magic, weakening it enough for Flash to easily finish it off. She may just be a baby, but she already has the heart of a princess and a hero, just like the rest of her family.
  • When Trial-R attacks Flash and the others in the Crystal Empire, Jaden Chalice, a young colt Heart met earlier, helps save the day by using his Master Archer skills to strike Trial-R in its chest with a crossbow all the way from the castle. This ends up impressing Ruby Scarlet so much, who Jaden was already a fan of, to making him her official apprentice.
  • The two-part chapter "Reinforcements From the Future":
    • Flash teams up with a Future Badass version of Fire Heart, who is now a Royal Knight himself and has the title of "Ig-Knighter", chasing a rogue changeling named Tragus from the future who has come back to sabatoge an important peace conference.
    • The Future Fire Heart constantly says how they need to stop Tragus without changing any details about the conference in order to ensure the future remains unchanged. Flash eventually realizes something though, Fire Heart doesn't remember ever being told about this mission from his own Flash, and the only ones who know about Tragus right now are them, Twilight, and everyone at the conference. If they stop Tragus but not tell anyone about him, and just say in the official report that everything happened the way Heart described it, then the future won't change. Flash even outright says history is Written by the Winners.
    • Flash learns from the Future Fire Heart that at some point in the future, Flash will sacrifice himself to save every kingdom. Heart initially wants to tell Flash about it so he can potentially avoid this fate, but Flash says not to, out of fear of changing the timeline too much. Though Flash seems to accept his fate, by the end of the chapter, he remembers how Heart said Twilight was heartbroken over his sacrifice and never moved on. So, he silently swears to himself that whatever happens in the future, he is going to survive his fate and change the future for the better.
  • Fluttershy and Iron Core helping Tidal Wave defeat Muerojo, the pirate that murdered Tidal's father. Fluttershy gets one of the best moments in the fight, by realizing that the Eyepatch of Power Muerojo is wearing only lets him see into the future when he is threatened by something. So while Iron and Tidal distract him, without causing him any harm, Fluttershy manages to sneak up behind him and tear it right off his face, leaving him powerless.
  • The battle against Trial-G in "Birthday Battle Blitz". If it wasn't clear before that these trials are learning from their failures then it certainly is now. It takes everything the heroes have to defeat this one, and even in defeat it nearly manages to kill Grand. The scariest thing though, is that there is still one more left.
  • Seeing Fangpire get overthrown. In the span of just one chapter he quickly establishes himself as one of the most despicable villains in the series, acting as a tyrant to the batponies, orders the execution of Rogue when he was just a child and thus being responsible for him not having any memory of his past, forcing Rogue's mother to remarry and have a second child to replace Rogue, and forcing his son Foxhelm to fight his battles for him to keep himself safe. So, it is satisfying when Rogue puts his end to a rule, showing all the batponies they don't need his rules anymore, and Rogue's mother and half-brother use their own Sonic Screams on Fangpire to protect Rogue from him.
  • The first half of "Web of Memories" shows the origins of how Luna and Sharp Paw met. Luna first met him after he was exiled from his camp after he lost to his corrupt chief Strong Strike, and she quickly offers to help train him for the next three months so he will be strong enough to beat him and become chief himself. Luna ends up putting him through a Training from Hell montage for three months, but you can't argue with the results. Sharp returns to his camp and challenges Strong to a rematch, putting the Dirty Coward in his place and becoming the chief of the Jakhowls. His first order as the new chief? Exile Strong Strike to put an end to his dreams of leadership and abuse of power once and for all!
  • The final battle of the season against The Pony of Shadows and Trial-C:
    • When the Pony of Shadows is first freed, Flash surprises everyone, including the Pillars and the Pony of Shadows himself by being able to harm him with his magic.
    • Part 1 ends with Void proposing a Villain Team-Up between the two of them, with the Pony of Shadows keeping the others occupied while Trial-C deals with Flash and steals his Sacred Light, which the Pony of Shadows accepts.
    • In order to combat the force of the combined villains, Flash calls in all of the Royal Knights for backup. This also leads to an amazing Bait-and-Switch moment, where they managed to trick Trial-C into attacking the wrong group by using a special gem to disguise Flash and Iron as each other (as well as their weapons) and temporarily dim Flash's Sacred Light powers so Flash could help face the Pony of Shadows while the Royal Knights and Springer to deal with Trial-C.
    • It is revealed that the "darkness" that transformed Stygian into the Pony of Shadows was actually the Corrupted Shadow, with the temple they fought him in essentially being a counterpart to the temple of the Sacred Light Flash was born in.
    • The Royal Knights and Springer managing to defeat Trial-C by utilizing brand new Combination Attacks that Trial-C has no data on because they are using them for the very first time.
  • For anyone who disliked Starswirl's bad attitude, seeing Flash constantly talk back at him and state all of his mistakes in the past they ended up dealing with can be pretty satisfying.
  • The penultimate scene of the season reveals that Void is working for the Storm King, and sets up for the events of the movie. Tempest Shadow and Grubber also make quick appearances, with Void even managing to defeat Tempest when she tries to zap him.
    Flash Sentry's EQG Chronicles
  • When Flash, Sci-Twi, and Rarity confront the Shadowbolts over stealing Rarity's music video idea, Flash gives them all a great "The Reason You Suck" Speech before storming out with the girls.
Flash: You know, I never liked how you always belittled others and flaunted your achievements over them, but I at least respected that you actually earned those achievements. Crystal Prep's always stating it's the best. But now I'm starting to wonder just how much of that is true. I'm glad I left this place.
  • The Shadowbolts recruited Lightning Blitz to write an original song for their music video, which he initially agrees to. But he is present when the Shadowbolts are confronted by Rarity and her friends and learns they stole Rarity's concept for themselves. It is later revealed that Lightning revoked his help after this, not wanting to help them cheat to win.
  • "Let's Rev It Up" has several moments:
    • When Flash makes a deal with Rusty, that if he helps disassemble a few cars in the junkyard then he can work on one of them to fix it up for himself, he uses his magic to get the job done much faster, able to disassemble the cars and sort their parts much quicker than would normally take.
    • Flash works for several weeks on the car, and eventually manages to make it look good as new with it resembling his Cool Car from canon. It actually turns out even better, since thanks to Sci-Twi he manages to use his magic on it to make it go even faster.
    • Springer's counterpart finally makes an appearance, with him helping Flash fix up the car and being credited as his "assistant" and officially being adopted by Flash as his pet at the end. Also, even though he only briefly appears in one scene, Shade's counterpart also appears as a black fox, setting up the possibility of him being an antagonist in the Equestria Girls world too.
  • The Royal Knights manage to impress Smash Hit with their performance, offering to let them record their songs and make a CD, saying they can be the next PostCrush.
    Flash Sentry Chronicles: The Movie
  • When the Storm King's army invades Canterlot, it proves to be a much better showing for the heroes, compared to the Curb-Stomp Battle they were delivered in canon. The Royal Knights manage to fight against the Storm King's forces before Void's machine causes them to vanish, and several other supporting characters also help fight against the army and help the Mane 7 and their friends escape before they are eventually captured.
  • It is confirmed that the armored pony that was seen with the Storm King at the end of Season 7, was Armalum. He survived wherever Faust teleported him and Shadow, and joined the Storm King to get revenge on the ones responsible for the death of his master. He also ends up greatly wounding Flash during the battle, shooting him with a cross-bolt that was infected with the Corrupted Shadow, leaving him weakened after the battle.
  • Void shows how dangerous he is on the battlefield, managing to absorb everything the Royal Knights throw at him and send it right back at them.
  • While in Capper's home, Soul finds some paper and a quill, allowing Spike to write a message to Ember and Thorax and get their support to stop the Storm King.
  • Springer fighting Armalum in Klugetown. Armalum confirms that his deceased master gave him a parting gift, the ability to use the Corrupted Shadow himself. Though he seems to have Springer on the ropes for awhile, Springer manages to get a Heroic Second Wind and sends him flying back before rushing off to join his friends in their escape.
  • When Twilight, Flash, Heart, and Soul are captured, they discover Void's true identity. He is none other than Shadow Corrupter, who survived having his Corrupted Shadow powers removed by Faust, but has slowly been dying without it. His new powers were a result of having his Corrupted Shadow removed, leaving a void inside him he could fill by absorbing the magic of others. But he discovered he has a limit before he runs out, so he plans to absorb Flash's Sacred Light powers, a limitless supply of power that will heal his body and keep him alive as long as he needs.
  • Springer's Rousing Speech to the Mane 5 on what to do when they return to Canterlot. It shows how he knows his friends enough to form strategies for each of them to use, and that when Flash and Twilight aren't around he is essentially the leader of the group.
Springer: Rainbow, you're cocky and confident. Tempest probably thinks you'll go in guns blazing without a plan. So use that. Let them think that's what you're doing to lull them into a false sense of security, then hit 'em where it hurts with your super speed. Applejack, you care about others more than anypony I know of. Especially your family. They'll probably try and use them as a shield to beat you. But a trapper's trap can trap the trapper. When we get there, find your family and anypony else you know can help and free them.
    Applejack: You got it.
Springer: (to Rarity) You might seem ladylike and nothing to fear, but I've seen you become the most brutally dangerous pony when you wanna be. Show the Storm King being beautiful doesn't mean being weak. (turns to Fluttershy) You're one of the most special ponies in the world. You see the good in others, when even they don't see it in themselves. I can't imagine the Storm King's army is one hundred percent bad. Find those who seem hesitant and show them the Storm King doesn't have to dictate how they live their lives.
    Fluttershy: Okay.
Springer: Spike, your loyalty to Twilight speaks volumes. You'll go above and beyond for her. And you're not some weak little kid like you used to be. You're a Mystic Flame Dragon. Son of dragon heroes. Show the world why you hold the title of number one assistant.
    Spike: Oh yeah.
Springer: And Pinkie. You might act like a brainless goofball, but you're one of the smartest ponies I know. Even smarter than Twilight in some areas. But it's that goofball side of you that makes you so dangerous. You're so unpredictable, it's impossible to figure out what you'll do next. So use that to throw them all off.
  • Once the group is found out when they try sneaking back into Canterlot, Springer fires a beam of light into the sky. This turns out to be a signal for the dragons and changelings to begin their attack and help them fight the Storm King's army.
  • Even as Flash is chained up and unable to defends himself from Void's torture, he refuses to give in and activate his Sacred Light. He continues to remain defiant and talk down to Void the whole time, and gives Void a "The Reason You Suck" Speech on how he is no leader and that no matter who he manages to defeat, his so-called reign will never last. His most epic line though was what he said at the beginning of Void's torture.
Void: Willing to play ball now?
Flash: (after taking several deep breaths) Drop dead.
  • Fire Heart defeating Void with the help of Solid Script's Master Gem to borrow the magic of Flash and the other Royal Knights that came to help.
Flash Sentry Chronicles: School's in Session
  • During Flash's first class, Smolder mouths off that a class on Courage is lame, because she's not afraid of anything. Flash's response?
Flash: Oh... So you're an idiot?
Smolder: What did you just say?!
Flash: You're an idiot. Either that, or a complete liar. You see, there are only two types of creatures that believe they have no fear. Those who are lying to themselves and hiding their fear, or those who are so stupid they can't see the danger of a situation right in front of them. So if you're really fearless, you're either a liar, or an idiot. Which is it?
(Smolder says nothing, looking away and crossing her arms)
  • Flash reveals that he had a training room secretly installed into the school, with a perfect copy of the gem that's in Twilight's castle. He intends to use the room for his own classes at the school, to create different situations for the students to help them practice what they learned in their other classes. In his first class, he divides the students into two groups and creates a scenario where they need to work together to put out a house that's on fire and save the occupants trapped inside.
Flash Sentry, Defender of the Peace S 8
  • In the opening chapter, "Flash Magnus", Flash Sentry teams up with his ancestor Flash Magnus to save a village being terrorized by Banshee and Electra.
    • Flash manages to completely protect himself from Banshee's sonic screams by making earplugs out of some moss. He also taunts her throughout the battle by saying he met someone else named Banshee awhile ago who also had a sonic scream, but despite just being a kid he's way tougher than her. At the end of their second fight, when their attacks collide with each other and create a cloud of smoke, Banshee accidentally inhales it and starts coughing so she can't use her scream, allowing Flash to get behind her and spin her around before throwing her to the ground, knocking her out.
    • Magnus has a Heroic Rematch against Electra. After losing to her previously due to not knowing common knowledge of how water conducts electricity, he manages to lure her into a trap. At first it seems like he is trying to trick her into crashing into a river and shorting herself out, only for her to easily avoid this and fire another shot of lightning at him. But instead, he has lured her to an aqueduct and uses his shield to redirect her attack at it, blowing a hole in it and causing her to get blasted by the water shooting out. He plugs the hole quickly and proceeds to knock her out with his shield, but makes sure to repeat the same thing she said to him previously first.
Flash Magnus: Don't you know water conducts electricity?
  • When Soarin plans to ask Rainbow Dash to marry him, Fleetfoot and Misty Fly are both excited because, according to them, if she says yes then it will mean that Rainbow and Soarin will be the first married couple to ever fly together in the Wonderbolts.
  • Soarin finally proposes to Rainbow, and in one of the most dramatic and beautiful ways possible. He lures Rainbow Dash to a mountain with the prospect of racing her to a picnic there, only to secretly setoff a firework show that explode in the colors of her mane, then skywriting a message for her in the sky.
    RAINBOW DASH,
    WILL YOU MARRY ME?
  • Seeing the Student Six perform Flash's exercise in "Plan Bee". It is easy to see their improvement from their disastrous first performance in the previous story. Also, Silverstream's "Eureka!" Moment when she figures out how she and her friends can find out why they failed by checking their results from the beginning one step at a time, and they all realize that saving the bees was the answer they were missing.
  • "Heart and Jaden's Big Adventure" features the two titular apprentices going on a journey as a test given to them by their mentors to determine the future of their training. The two need to get three gemstones from Cold Steel, Skybreaker, and First Aid, while passing challenges that show their invisibility, indestructibility, and insight respectively. After obtaining all three gems they need to make their way to Ghastly Gorge where they need to deposit them gems while also demonstrating all three skills once more in order to pass.
  • According to Flicker, dragons normally go through The Molt for about a month, with each of the symptoms lasting for about a week before they finally grow their wings. To his surprise though, he learns that Spike has been experiencing all the symptoms at once and that they only last about a day. Apparently, Mystic Dragons evolve much faster than regular dragons.
Spike: You guys had to go through all that for a month?!
Flicker: Yes, though it looks like your molt's effects are far more intense than a normal dragon molt. I guess your race's evolution decided spending a day or two in absolute agony is better than a month of rather moderate pain.
    • Also, when Spike learns about The Molt and Molt Effect, he checks Silverbolt's spell book and finds there is actually a spell that will nullify the side-effects of The Molt if done correctly and prevent the Molt Effect. Unfortunately for Spike, it requires a dragonic incantation and he can't do it properly due to his uncontrollable volume shifts affecting him too much by that point.
  • After everything the Mane 7, the Defenders, and Starlight suffered from the Super Fleas that Big Score and his goons gave them, it is absolutely cathartic when after they finally get rid of them with Solid Script's help, they reprogram them and unleash them on Big Score, Rickashay, and Boulder as revenge.
    Big Score: This is cruel!
    Lightning Blitz: It's called karma.
    • The final cherry on top is as the three criminals are arrested, Twilight takes the Headband of Inner Truth, the same artifact they were trying to steal, and places it on Big Score briefly, where his inner self reveals if he had started a legitimate business instead of turning to a life of crime, he would have made a fortune years ago, causing Big Score to scream as Twilight takes the headband back.
  • The return of Storm Blade in "A Returning Storm" has plenty of these:
    • Springer has a hard time locating Storm Blade's aura. This is revealed to be because of a large number of crystals in the area that are blocking his aura abilities. The chief of a group of tribal ponies tells the story behind these crystals, how long ago there was a creature that could not see but was apparently able to sense the aura of others and hunt its prey. But the chief's ancestor discovered that the crystals made the beast blind and used them to defeat it, with everyone in the tribe carrying the crystals to protect them should the beast ever return. With their knowledge of the crystals locations, the tribe manage to map out the areas their effects cover, giving everyone an idea on where to search for Storm Blade.
    • After being discovered, Storm Blade causes an active volcano to erupt to keep everyone busy so he can escape. While Soarin and Cold go after him, everyone else stays behind to battle the eruption and save the nearby villages, cutting down trees so the lava doesn't cause a forest fire, Flash and Rainbow creating channels to divert the lava with their Shining Guardian form and Sonic Rainboom respectively, and Trixie using her ice magic to help slow the lava down.
    • Cold and Soarin working together against Storm. After Storm used up too much of his Celestic Gear's magic on Soarin, he is left completely defenseless against Cold, who freezes him solid, finally avenging his deceased mentor Noble Banner and taking back the Celestic Gear that was rightfully his.
    • Storm, in one final act of defiance, manages to break out of the ice statue he was frozen in, and despite his body almost being frostbitten, he grabs a sharp piece of ice and charges at Cold, intending to stab him to death. Before he can make it though, Soarin, despite being heavily injured himself, is the first to react and strikes the side of Storm's head, knocking him out. This serves as some great In-Universe Catharsis for Soarin, getting the defeating blow against Storm and finally evening the score against him for The Lost City.
  • Iron Core and Gallus work together to stop a forest fire in the Everfree Forest in "The Griffon and the Knight". Afterwards, Iron Core tells the others that after Gallus graduates, he plans to make him his apprentice.
  • First Aid confronts his Evil Mentor Biopsy after discovering he is the one who has poisoned a village, and easily defeats him by firing a magical bolt at him that numbs his muscles and essentially leaves him paralyzed until he can be locked up. Then he destroys the mad doctor's entire lab to put an end to his so-called "research" and schemes.
  • "The Epic of Tempest Shadows" has a pretty epic premise all on its own. Flash and Spike go on a friendship mission together from the map and meet up with Tempest, Starswirl, and Celaeno's crew and go on a quest for treasure together. The individual moments throughout the chapter are a bonus.
    • Gruber reveals to have become a successful businessman since the Storm King's defeat, with a few Storm Creatures employed under him. He has has four different emergency exits in his office for quick escapes.
    • With some help from Starswirl, Spike learns another mystic dragon spell. He can now teleport himself short distances by covering himself in flames, similar to how he sends letters. This skill gets used in the climax to teleport himself and the others back to the ship when the cave is collapsing.
    • Tempest's Friend-or-Idol Decision, where she ultimately decides to give up what is perhaps her last chance to repair her horn and get her magic back in order to save Captain Celaeno. The two then use one of the relics in the cave, the Blade of Space, to get themselves safely out of the cave and back to the ship. The ending scene has Flash using the sword to open a portal and send the ship and everyone on it to Ponyville for a visit.
  • Sombra finally completing his quest to find all the broken pieces of Amore's statue, with some help from Ruby and Jaden, and restores her back to life.
  • Fire Heart helps teach the Kirin how to control their anger so they don't accidentally destroy their own home again. He is now essentially the mentor for an entire species.
  • "The Misadventures of Springer 4: The Final Trick":
    • Shade returns yet again, making another plan to kill Springer. He infiltrates the prison north of the Crystal Empire and releases all the prisoners there, causing a massive prison riot and taking a few guards hostage. This leads to Flash and Ruby confronting many villains from throughout the series at once, from minor reoccurring ones like Big Score and his goons, Electra, Banshee, and Slushy, to even major ones that haven't been seen in a long time like Doom Raizer, Toxic Fang, Grimhorn, and Longhorn. The two knights manage to defeat most of the inmates, but when they seem to be on the ropes against the remaining villains, Lightning Blitz and Iron Core arrive to assist them.
    • Shade forces Springer to fight him without using his aura due to setting up a rune that will torture a guard he has taken hostage if he does. He obviously thinks doing this will give him an advantage against Springer. He's dead wrong, and Springer proceeds to beat him senseless without any aura attacks or his Mega Mode. Springer even reveals he has found a way to use his aura to give himself a Healing Factor, meaning there is essentially no way for Shade to beat him.
    • Springer continuously talks down to Shade throughout their encounter. He points out how Shade always resorts to cheating against him and how it never works, and says he pities him for living in the past. When Shade continues his Villainous Breakdown, ranting about how they both exist just to kill each other, Springer announces he is done fighting Shade for good and chooses to walk away from him and the pointless feud between Jakhowls and Tricksters, ignoring Shade's demands that he come back and face him.
    • Lightning shows up just in time to assist Springer with Shade, zapping Shade so hard he is knocked out of his battle form and reduced to his regular form. This shows that despite all this time Shade still hasn't reached adulthood like Springer yet, and he is basically just a Psychopathic Manchild like Springer says.
  • In a villainous example, the magic draining spell Cozy uses that Tirek told her about causes even more problems here. It slowly drains Flash of his Sacred Light, which will result in his death if he loses it all. Not only that, it is also slowly draining Faust of her magic too, and if she dies it is only a matter of time before the world is destroyed without her maintaining it. The really scary part about that though? Neither of them had any idea this would happen, so the two of them nearly killed a God and destroyed the world by complete accident!
  • Neighsay gets a bit of Adaptational Karma here:
    • When he imprisons the Student Six and Jakhowl pups, Ace and Mira contact Springer telepathically to deal with him. Springer is naturally pissed at Neighsay for his actions and taking over the school, outright calling him a tyrant for his behavior and actions, and threatens to have him arrested. Though Neighsay casts a spell to force Springer out of the school or he'll pass out from the pain, Springer still gets a hit in against him by hitting Neighsay with an Aura Blast, which slams him painfully against a wall and damages his badge.
    • Due to the damage to his badge, Neighsay ends up teleporting into the middle of the woods instead of Canterlot, and by the time he gets there Springer has already informed the princesses without him. After Cozy is dealt with, Celestia and Twilight both make it clear they are not happy with Neighsay and he will need to have a lot to make up for if he wants to both keep his job in the EEA and avoid being arrested.
    Flash Sentry Chronicles: Jakhowls Rising
  • The Jakhowl elders, once free, are able to reach out with their aura and pull Springer, Ace, and Mira's spirits to their location to tell them to find them. Apparently this is so powerful it would have worked on any amount of surviving Jakhowls in the world, but they were shocked to find there were only three.
  • The fight against Mirage and her friends. During this, Mirage shows off another aura ability that lets her make copies of herself. Though everyone keeps trying to say they are not their enemies, once Springer finally loses patience with her he just goes into his Mega Mode and sends her and her friends crashing into the mountain.
  • Razor Fang shows he has a Mega Mode of his own, and before the fight is called off by Sirius, Razor seemed to have a slight advantage, even if only due to the surprise of his form.
  • The elder Crystal Clair allows Flash to see a vision of a possible future. In this vision, he sees multiple enemies from the past, including Void, Evil Flash, Mean Flash, Shake Shocker, Big Score, Rickashay, Boulder, Electra, Doom Raizer, Banshee and Storm Blade. Could this be a brief glimpse at a potential new Legion of Doom?
  • The final battle against Razor Fang.
    • Starting as a kysongsai, a challenge to determine who will have the right to lead Aurarora, things quickly escalate nearly immediately. Ace and Mira stop Snivel from cheating for Razor by attacking and defeating him away from everyone else, and Springer ends up revealing that Razor was the one who murdered Sirius by using the Aura-Scape on him.
    • When Razor goes on a rampage with his Mega Mode, Springer unlocks a new form himself via his bond with Ace and Mira, thus proving that Springer's the jakhowl of the prophecy, which itself is another huge blow against Razor's entire ego.
    • When it seems like Razor still has the upper-hand against Springer, Mirage, the elders, and every other jakhowl in Aurarora share their own aura with Springer, allowing him to defeat Razor with an attack called Aura Destroyer.
  • Springer officially being made the new chief of Aurarora, essentially serving as a Awesome Moment of Crowning for him when Chrome uses some ash to draw a symbol on his forehead.
Clair: Do you swear to lead our tribe with honour, to uphold justice and to never use your position for any form of personal gain?
    Springer: I swear.
Core: (speaking to the gathered masses) The chief...has come home!
    Cress: Long live the chief!
    Flash Sentry Chronicles: Evil's Uprising
  • With Sombra reformed in this continuity, his role as a villain is filled by the return of the Evil Flash from the Season 5 finale, now going by the name "Shroudheart". He also explains after his defeat he was blasted into a dimension outside of time and space, where all he could do was view the multiverse for several millennia, to the point he now claims he knows everything that will happen in any timeline.
  • Flash finally faces Shroudheart himself after only hearing about him from Twilight in the previous stories.
  • The ending scene has Mean Flash searching for something that Shroudheart sent him to find. It turns out to be Armalum's mask, buried where he and Void were defeated. But the mask suddenly activates due to Shroudheart's shadowy essence flying into it, and it forces Mean Flash to become its host, resulting in the resurrection of Armalum, who apparently has all of his old memories plus those of Shroudheart, and the one thing on his mind is the destruction of Flash Sentry.
Flash Sentry, Defender of the Peace S 9
  • Flash mentors three new guard recruits, pointing out each of their Fatal Flaws that are holding them back. He then manages to defeat Odin the Eye-clops by identifying his weakness. He can only absorb one type of magic at a time, and can only absorb and shoot magic through his eye. So, using his Shining Guardian form, he continuously fires a giant magic ball at Odin, which is too much for Odin to absorb at once without firing it eventually, causing him to blink and be consumed by Flash's attack, also causing him to go temporarily blind from the strain.
  • "Frenemies" has a lot of moments for Armalum:
    • Armalum spies on the Legion of Doom, observing if they are worthy of him teaming up with.
    • Using his new shadow powers, Armalum manages to make it up Mt. Everhoof on his own long before anyone else. He uses some runes to disable the force field to the bell, but discovers there is a secondary security system that activates when the barrier goes down, dropping him down into a chamber where he faces an armored golem. He ends up handling the golem well, but it keeps regenerating and he eventually is forced to escape back outside and restoring the barrier to get away from the golem. It is implied he could have destroyed it, but chose to save all the hated he has been gathering for when he faces Flash.
    • When Armalum reveals himself to the Legion, he explains he no longer needs a host, since when Mean Flash dug him up, Shroudheart transferred his dark essence to him, so now he is fueled by the hatred that Shadow Corrupter, Shroudheart, and Mean Flash all had for Flash Sentry, as well as still possessing the Corrupted Shadow.
    • Armalum explains he knows the future thanks to Shroudheart, and proposes an alliance with the Legion to defeat their common enemies, saying that while they continue with their own plan and deal with Twilight and her friends, he'll handle Flash and the Royal Knights. He departs saying he still needs to gather more strength, assuring them he will be back when they are ready to attack.
  • Flash manages to explain how playing a card game called Dueling Creatures is better training for Heart than chess.
Flash: Chess is a good way of teaching strategy, but every move is predetermined. A good player can move a piece and see every way their opponent can counter. It's good for teaching somepony how to look ahead and predict what'll happen next, but in a real battle, you might not be able to do that. In a real battle, a million different possibilities could happen. The environment could affect the fight, or a freak accident could tip the scales in your favor. Chess doesn't have accidents. This game teaches you to react and shift strategies to better suit the situation.
  • Spike uses his Mystic Dragon magic to stand up to Garble when he tries bullying him. However, even though he could easily kick Garble's butt now, he only uses his magic for self-defense against him, openly stating he doesn't use his powers to bully others.
  • Trail Blazer and Misty Vail decide that while they are living in Ponyville, they will take over teaching Flash and Twilight's classes at the School of Friendship once Twilight becomes the sole ruler of Equestria.
  • Fluttershy and Iron Core end up passing the trials of the Temple of Animarium.
    • This includes moving giant rocks to press four buttons down at once, figuring out how to safely cross a laser-filled hallway, and solving a puzzle as the ceiling starts closing in on them.
    • The temple has some kind of protection that prevents other from getting in except with a key. Even Discord can't get in.
    • After passing the trials, Fluttershy and Iron Core gain access to the spirit animal forms. For Fluttershy this means she can turn into a rabbit, but for Iron it means his armor gains some tiger-like qualities.
  • Ocellus and Smolder are called by the map to go on a friendship mission to Applewood, the Equestria equivalent of Hollywood.
  • "Let's Do the Time Warp Again":
    • Armalum sabotages Twilight's Temporal Scroller, since he realizes it could possibly ruin any chance he has of staying secret. This results in time portals opening all across town, bring multiple creatures from the past to the present, and pulling several characters into different periods in the past.
    • The climax of the chapter when everyone arrives back in the present, and has to fight off a group of Changelings from the Canterlot Wedding that followed them back. During this, Applejack saves a baby version of Apple Bloom from one of them and the battle ends with Flash kicking the squad leader through the portal back to the past.
  • Armalum tracks down the other former cultists in "Lingering Shadows", and restores their memories hoping to restore their hate for Flash Sentry and absorb it like he did with Storm Blade and several other villains throughout the story. Instead, they are all horrified by their former memories, recognizing Shadow for the monster he truly was. Also, since Flash and Heart were summoned to the village by the map, they have learned about Armalum's presence now and what he's been up to. Essentially, Armalum has lost the element of surprise he has been trying to maintain, and it is his first real defeat since his resurrection.
  • When the former cultists all reunite with their family and loved ones, in-between the heartwarming moments everyone else has, Tempera gets an awesome moment for herself when she tells off her Abusive Parents for how they treated her, starving her for love her whole childhood and making her blind to what true love is, which was why she fell for Shadow originally. When it becomes clear they are only sorry for her running away due to their own reputation and not her safety, she promptly cuts them out of her life for good, stating she has found a real home with loved ones.
  • In a villainous example, Armalum finds the Lost City again in "Flash's Life" and confronts Faust. After a hard fought battle, Armalum actually emerges victorious against Faust, partly because Faust is still recovering from her Near-Death Experience from Cozy's draining spell but still. Armalum consumes Faust, destroying the Lost City in the process, and gains a dark version of Flash's Shining Guardian form. He declares that Flash's time is up, emphasizing how the Final Battle is approaching.
  • Faust for her part does not make it easy for Armalum, nearly beating him despite her weakened state and constantly talking down to him during the battle, calling him a parasite and just as idiotic as his deceased master. Even as he is absorbing her she warns him that he will still fail and claims that in her entire existence one of her favorite things to witness time and time again has been a hero rising up against impossible odds and defeating villains like him.
