Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Ask the Tropers is for:
- • General questions about the wiki, how it works, and how to do things.
- • Reports of problems with wiki articles, or requests for help with wiki articles.
- • Reports of misbehavior or abuse by other tropers.
Ask the Tropers is not for:
- • Help identifying a trope. See TropeFinder.
- • Help identifying a work. See MediaFinder.
- • Asking if a trope example is valid. See the Trope Talk forum.
- • Proposing new tropes. See TropeLaunchPad.
- • Making bug reports. See QueryBugs.

Hello. How do we increase an images' size? The rules dictate that the image I upload can't go over 350 px. Now the pictures I upload are apparently too small to be seen clearly in the trope pages I want them to appear in. How can I make them larger? Is there like a function or code to increase their size in said pages?
Best regards.

In the film section of Exact Time to Failure, the 1st example has a title, but the next one has no name of the work listed, no potholes, and the only hints are the work above and the phrase "also used in the first movie". Can someone name the work so I can fix it?

I'd like to raise a concern over the user biscuitsngravy. On the one hand he's helpful at sorting out nattery entries on the Bowdlerise index. On the other hand he randomly deletes (valid) entries from indexes including Bowdlerise, Harsher in Hindsight and What Could Have Been. Curiously most of the deleted entries concern Nickelodeon shows (such as Avatar and Rugrats).

We got a guy in YKTTW Who takes offence when one points out that his 4 paragraph definition spends its 2 first paragraph talking about stuff not related to his trope or his trope's media. He also insist on using words that don't actually exist in any actual dictionary beside Wikitionary (And by how own admissions, words that aren't even in use in most of the english speaking world) and lastly gets rather offensive, arbitrarily calling people "Californians" which he hates, for some reason.

New troper Bluedudex2 is showing a lack of understanding of how we work with his terribly made page Nintendo Logic, which I'm going to cutlist.

There's an Edit War going on over at the Smile Pretty Cure! page - one user (a Yuri Fan on a crusade against het pairings, I don't even know) doesn't "approve" of people posting pairings he dislikes and has been deleting them without reasons or using "justifications" like "I don't think they should be here". He's also threatened to report people for reverting his vandalism.
I'm not sure how many socks this guy has, but the offending edits have been made under midoriri3 (not midoriri2, she's one of the people who's been reverting his vandalism), xXxMcKenziexXx, and Michael Cole 2, the last of which has been used to harass people off-site (at FF.net, over het pairings. Shipping is Serious Business, apparently).
I don't know what to do, especially because this guy is so persistent (his bs has been reverted for now, but he'll be back), but this is getting too embarrassing to not report.

Just to be clear, if a trope isn't Omnipresent, aversions should not be listed, right?
I'm pretty sure that's the case, but I'm not positive, so I'm checking before I go tearing through Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkeys, which came to my attention from an edit to 1632 including that trope.

Marshal Valor readded the Barack Obama example that we decided to remove with discussion page consensus for being Flame Bait. Further, we decided to keep a cleaned Real Life section in the Special Efforts thread on RL section cleanup.

The trope page for Transsexual at present has a large set of definitions for terms used by trans individuals in real life, but they seem to take up too much room on there, and don't describe the trope much at all.
Could they be placed within a folder on the page to help with navigation, or should they be left as they are? Or is there another option I'm missing?

There is a troper named Talisha Luvs Pink who posts the comment "Troll review" on all of Tuckerscreator's reviews. It's revenge for something he did, but it's really petty and annoying. In fact, on Tuckerscreator's review for WALL-E, she comments, "FYI: I'm gonna write "troll review" on all of your opinions, don't mess with me and you can try me if you want to". I don't know what should be done about this.

Bertandernie has created three new subpages of Christmas is Here Again for the sole purpose of posting garbage/spam: Funny.Christmas Is Here Again, Analysis.Christmas Is Here Again, Awesome.Christmas Is Here Again
Probably unrelated, Byrd Claw changed this ptitle from a redirect to a declaration that the work in question sucks, reversing FE's ruling on the earlier complaint entry.

I'm new. Do I have to contribute anything to have my book listed as a troper work?
I'm not sure where to put this. I was trying to edit the Live Action Ensemble Dark Horse page with an I Pad and accidentally wound up messing up the formatting. I tried to fix it, but I think I just made it worse. I'm really sorry. I can't fix it on my own since I won't have access to a regular computer for a couple of days.
