Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Well also on their page is an apparent refusal to read P Ms, so maybe something more drastic is in order.
Honestly, I don't think that fits Creator Backlash because "wishing that one relatively minor thing was different" isn't the same as "creator hates their own popular work."
... that said, it's at best Right for the Wrong Reasons and could probably stand to go to discussion. Has his homophobia seeped into his other edits?
Edited by Larkmarn Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.^ I checked some of his more recent edits (he's incredibly active for someone who claims to not like this site), and no. He loves to chain sinkholes, but I couldn't spot anything particularly offensive.
Pretty long edit history so I can't say for sure, but it doesn't look like it. Yet. Given the tone of his personal page and edit reason I'd argue a warning is in order, but as JRads pointed out he'd probably just delete the PM without reading it and block the moderator who sent it.
I mean, he self-describes himself as an outsider.
Not to mention, I would prefer to know where is that sourced statement of the actor wishing for the characters to be gay.
Edited by Tomodachi To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Isn't blocking a mod, in itself, an offense?
If not, it should be. Or at least it shouldn’t be possible.
^^^ Here's one of the articles on it (it was a pretty heavily discussed interview), though at this point I think it's fair to admit the entry wasn't a fit for Creator Backlash.
Edited by Dirtyblue929I'm curious, what is the Tv Tropes policy on people outright stating that they are homophobic, even if borderline?
Edited by pikachu17 17 pikachus all in a row.I know expressing homophobic views on the forums and the wiki is usually a one-way ticket to Bannedville, but I'm not sure how mods handle such things when it's written on one's own troper page.
Though I suspect mods can still kick such people out if they don't want such people hanging around our site and potentially causing problems.
I really dont like Tropers doing that, but its his page, so that's "Forget it Aegis, its Chinatown". But it shouldnt leak into actual pages, that's not allowed.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.IDK, Ol' Khrunwahl20 got the boot and all that was needed was some biased, agenda-driven reviews and a ridiculous troper's page outing them as being a bigot. Their views never leaked onto the wiki proper.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAre reviews not "the wiki proper"?
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. Not necessarily, I meant their views didn't leak into wiki edits or examples or anything. They made garbage reviews, they didn't shoehorn their beliefs into examples or delete valid information or anything.
It's just, there is a precedent for taking action based on what someone writes on their Tropers Page, is all.
Edited by WarJay77 Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe reviews really did it in that case. We've had some questionable troper pages before, but usually action has been corroborated by activity elsewhere.
On further review, Phoenixion has been suspended on the basis of bad editing habits, apparent blocking of PM's that include said notifiers, and agenda-based editing/promulgation.
The following entry was removed by Phoenixion from Trivia. The Rise Of Skywalker:
The edit reason given was:
Troper's personal page opens with a rant about how TV Tropes is "too gay" and that we "[shouldn't] blame [him] for being borderline homophobic!" (EDIT: As pointed out below, he also claims to block anyone who PMs him and immediately delete all messages without reading them.)
The first half of the edit reason is a huge can of worms I won't open, but the second half I disagree with; Lando's sexuality is never really on display in the film beyond some vaguely flirtatious mannerisms and only came from some ambiguous Word of Dante; the actors mentioned in the entry have been very vocally supportive of a romance between the two characters in interviews and Isaac's quote about how "people are too afraid" is real.
