Unintentional indexes (fixed):

Intentional indexes:

  • The Anime of the Game, and it might be a good index to keep? The Film of the Book, a similar idea, is not an index. If it is an index, this will be tough to untangle. Edit the page and make sure only the stuff that's actually an anime of the game (instead of a franchise) is indexed. For example, Final Fantasy carefully puts index tags (closing before FF and opening after the link on that bullet point) so that Final Fantasy is not captured.
  • The Character Ice Cream Bar: For some reason, this was on-purpose. I'm not sure if it should be, either, so maybe just cut out the index markup for this page. There's still bugged bullet points like In-Universe getting indexed anyway. If it stays as an index, you can fix it by making the first Wiki Word link the actual work that should be indexed, so as an example move the Kirby link before In-Universe.
  • JustForFun.Trope Names For A Porn Parody: Also not sure if this is needed. If it's getting indexed on franchises, see above for how to fix.
  • JustForFun.Trope Title Shows: Ditto with the other Just for Fun page.

As a side note, I've been on-and-off untangling indexes for like 2 weeks now, and you can look at my edits on random Main/ pages like Goth Rock or more recently Creator.Way Forward Technologies to get an idea of how to fix indexes "properly"; it involves redlinks and making sure the first bullet point of each indexed item is the work you want to index. There's also a dime a dozen still-broken indexes if you look at the bottom of a page like Ur-Example, if anyone else is bored enough to do this.

Yeah, I did some major cleanup of The Anime of the Game to unindex franchise links before I made the decision to present it and others here. While I can see the value in an index of anime adapted from games, there are still a lot of links that point to the game of origin instead of the anime based on it — not necessarily unjustifiably, if the anime isn't different enough to warrant a separate page, but still.

Regarding larger overall index cleanup, I've been considering going after some of the video game indexes myself; because long-running franchises tend to accumulate a ton of them — something like Mario Bros gets listed on the indexes for every Nintendo console and every game generation and "Video Games of the [decade]", because it's a header bullet for all the Mario games that are specifically in those categories.

Oh, and for the record, now that I know how to deal with "indexes" without index tags, Stray Animal Story was another one that I just fixed.

If nobody objects, I think I'm going to go ahead and unindex the two Just For Fun pages.

Another that shouldn't be an index and doesn't have the indexing box checked: SidetrackedByTheGoldSaucer.Final Fantasy.

I made a null-edit there, did it work?

Even after removing the markup from Trope Title Shows, it's still appearing as an index on Franchise.Pokemon. This can be fixed with a null edit, right? On which page, the work or the former index?

And I thought about it some more and I think I'm going to pull the trigger on The Character Ice Cream Bar. Does anyone have an issue with that?

I fixed GoodBadBugs. The Binding Of Isaac indexing. Maybe we should start a thread for this issue? It doesn't appear to be possible to set page type on the mobile site.

Just a heads-up because I'm not sure people are aware - there seems to be a limit to how many indexes an individual page can show (somewhere around 30, I think). I knocked some off of Franchise.Pokemon and new ones are appearing in their place. The last few indexes shown are also failing to load the Previous and Next links. So anything we can do to lighten the load on pages like this would be good.
