In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

"what the complete, unabridged, 4k ultra HD fuck with bonus features" - Mark Von LewisGot a new pair of glasses after accidentally breaking my old one two weeks ago.
On my wave, passing oooooooonI have some good news. It took me a while, but I corrected each and every mistake I accidentally made while writing my seventh novel. Now I'm ready to release it to the world at large. :)
Flora is the most beautiful member of the Winx Club. :)Looks like my family will be getting a new washing machine soon.
Update: Never mind. Washing machine is working and not stinking to high heaven.

Blog linkWisconsin is currently being fucked over multiple times by flooding and severe thunderstorms. I already dealt with a nearly 5-hour power outage yesterday, and now my county just got a flash flood warning. How wonderful.
Update: Oh, and a state of emergency has been issued for my county as well (for some of the more flooded areas). Hope I don't need to evacuate...
Update 2: My town didn't get flooded and no evacuations needed. Hallelujah. Still doesn't make up for our shit late-summer weather the fast few days.

Hey how you doing well I'm doing just fine I lied I'm dying insideGoing to college!
Peace is the only battle worth waging.Congrats!
A great Mascot Mook.Dang, I went through a combined 31 hours of blackout in these last two days.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Yikes.
HiNothing new, really. Blackouts, especially long ones, have been a thing in Venezuela since 2016. The government's workers, like everybody from the government itself, simply don't know how to actually mantain the electrical network of the country, so they have to make blackouts to "try" to fix the two missteps they make for every attempted step forward.
For two nights in a row, I have had to sleep in the house's roof because of the darkness, the heat and the plague of flies. It's not pretty.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Yeah Venezuela is pretty much falling apart due to a variety of things, but have you tried finding ways to get visas or green cards?
HiDue to the current US government, they're sadly out of the picture. Our plan instead was to have my brother have a communitary residence in Europe via his marriage, and from there he could request our admission, but they split shortly before the transition period was over, so in the end it was all in vain. Recently, after over four million Venezuelans have migrated to the various neightboring countries of South America, there is an ongoing international project to put an halt to the influx of Venezuelans moving to those countries in search of better life chances.
Indeed, instead of looking for a potential solution for the suffering people from this country, many organizations are now trying to avoid our problem from becoming their problem as well. You said something about us leaving the country? Tell the sorry fuckers that say are my "family" that they should have planned that three years ago, because it's getting too late for that.note

HiThere’s a girl in my class who I really like. I’m going to see if I can get to know her better.
Peace is the only battle worth waging. So several months ago I posted that I was dying.
I still have ALK-related lung cancer, and had to go to the hospital for twenty days due to a nasty bout of pneumonia shortly after I made that post. The doctors weren't sure I would make it, but my oncologist prescribed Alectinib and pulled a couple of strings to get me some earlier than normal and it's no exaggeration to say that it turned my health around in less than a week. It's been almost seven months now since they said I had 3-6 months left to live and my tumors have shrunk over seventy-five percent with few if any side effects.
Alectinib only works for an average of 2-5 years in test subjects, though, meaning that this is a temporary respite rather a cure. Nevertheless advances like this make me hopeful for the future.
I'm on that and and like twelve other drugs right now for pain relief, mood stabilization, and misc. other things, and I hate sitting on my duff and collecting disability but I'm alive and I plan to stay that way as long as I can.

"I had such a pretty MIND! Oh, God, I wish I had that pretty mind back!"Well, my dad's gonna be absolutely insufferable this week. After both Mom and I told him that he was "delusional" for thinking that Kentucky(both parents alma mater) was going to beat Florida in football when they hadn't done so in thirty-one years, Kentucky not only won, but won in spectacular fashion. And just two days after his sixtieth birthday. I think he might be a bit justified, though.
Blog linkWell, Hurricane Florence is headed for my area so that's gonna be fun. We're expecting a power/internet outage at least.
On my wave, passing oooooooonOkay, Florence is done and we've actually been just fine (can't say the same for other parts of NC). My 21st birthday's come and gone this month but a lot's happened and taken priority over that so we didn't get this totally big family gathering that we usually do (and no I'm not drinking).
On my wave, passing oooooooon
Just discovered by coincidence that I share a building with someone who looks almost exactly like me. That was an awkward elevator ride.
