Bullets seem to mildly inconvenience Raiden at best, and unfortunately for MG 338 that's her only method of attack. But she spits out a lot of bullets in an extremely accurate manner, and each of them are basically armor-piercing sniper rounds, so any shot that Raiden doesn't parry away is going to hurt.
Problem is that her namesake machine gun doesn't offer much mobility, and her frame isn't the toughest one around. Bad combination against a Spectacle Fighter protagonist. Raiden has the upper hand here.

Varrick's fighting skills are really pretty abysmal, so MG 338 should have the advantage easily, even with Zhu Li protecting him.
But.
Varrick's tech skills are fantastic. He's shown to be able to cobble together an EMP on the fly in record time, so if she's at all susceptible to those then he has this.
The last thing you hear before an unstoppable juggernaut bisects you with a minigun.
