This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Yes, since it's a follow-up on the original example, it would not do to have them on separate second-level bullets and the correct thing to do would be to incorporate it into the parent example. But leaving it on its own separate bullet, let alone with the nattery "to put this into perspective..." phrasing, is totally wrong.
However, you added background production details instead of what's actually in the work. Those are better fit for Trivia and not Main/ tropes, so it doesn't need to be added. See What Goes Where on the Wiki: Facts that occur during or around the production of a work but are not elements written to tell the story. If any of it were to be kept, it would need to be heavily truncated.
~faunas — We'd like bigger picture understanding: you are not to use Useful Notes in general as tropes at all, and for you to understand and follow everything else on What Goes Where on the Wiki.
Further, you were asked: "But in the future, what can you do if someone wrongly deletes an example you added instead of Edit Warring?"
While I appreciate the clarification I think it's clear there's a difference in how I write articles than what the mandate of style allows. As you said I've been notified about this a lot and I'm just not getting it. After reading the post above mine I've come to the conclusion that I would simply end up here again if given the opportunity to resume editing.
The way I view the articles is as if everyone contributing is speaking at the same time to the wider audience (with each top-level bullet acting like a kiosk or museum exhibit where readers can stop at and look at what's there) so if a contributor is adding something to an existing entry it's like they're interjecting to add more detail to the first editor's point, hence transitional phrases such as "To put this in perspective...". Not entirely necessary but allows for that conversational-esque flow to exist for easy and casual reading. However I can see I have a skewed view of how editing is meant to be carried out. So I'll just spare the site's admin from having to explain later why I've had my editing rights permanently revoked and simply take the hint now. It's been a good run.

Hi.
I'm coming back to check on my case. I was originally suspended for indentation issues and appealed about two weeks ago. During that time, I'd correctly identified what I'd done wrong to a moderator and said what I should have written instead.
I definitely feel that I can now make changes without messing up the indentation. Is my case still being discussed?

~rt2012 I told you to tell us the context you were missing for each example but it appears that you missed that. Anyways, let's go through these examples, shall we?
- Grumpy Bear: While these examples show us how these particular characters are grumpy, they don't have enough context to illustrate the rest of the trope. Despite its name, Grumpy Bear is not about grumpy characters. It's about pessimistic or cynical characters who live in a Sugar Bowl world and how their outlook on life clashes with the setting. If the Grumpy Bear examples in The Fox and the Hound are correct, they need to elaborate on how the pessimism or cynicism of these characters clash with their idyllic setting.
- Foreshadowing: This example looks ok at first glance, however, it's relying on a pothole to provide relevant context. Without the pothole to Revenge Before Reason being there, there would be no way for us to know that breaching the nature preserve was an action that was done without considering the consequences.
- You Are Grounded!: Context-wise this example is ok. However, "this happens" or "happens when" is Word Cruft and should be avoided because it doesn't tell us anything about the example. It is better to just explain the scene where the trope happens in full.
- Shout-Out: This entry doesn't tell us anything about how the scene in the film is reminiscent of the Goosebumps book. You need to connect the shared elements between the two scenes together so that we can see the actual shout out moment.
Additionally, we have noticed that some of your entries (Grumpy Bear and You Are Grounded!) contain multiple examples under one entry. That's not how examples should be formatted on the wiki. Tropes with multiple examples within the same series need to be indented with second level bullets. Seeing that you have 5 indentation notifiers and that your last notifier was for improper indentation, I think that's another issue that we need to go over with you. Please read over Administrivia.Example Indentation In Trope Lists and then come back and re-indent your Grumpy Bear and You Are Grounded! entries.
~X-FALCONER You have been suspended in for edit warring. Edit warring is when you edit an entry, someone reverts your edit, and then you reverse their edit. The third edit is the threshold for edit warring and is grounds for a suspension for anyone that crosses that line. Please read Administrivia.Edit War and then come back to tell us what you can do to avoid getting into another edit war.
Additionally, while edit warring was what ultimately lead to your suspension, we have noticed other problems with your edits including poor grammar, natter/example indentation, and example shoehorning/misuse.
We can go over natter and shoehorning after we are done going through our edit war policy with you. However, your grammar is below our standards, so we can't release your suspension until you show improvement in that area (and a general understanding of our editing rules). We want you to try to get at least three posts through the Get Help with English thread that don't need any grammar corrections after we have gone through your other editing issues on EB.

The Big Damn Heroes example you just did will be included. Please read our Zero-Context Example page and then come back and tell us the context you are missing for each trope and then edit the entries to include said missing context. Also, some of these examples improperly indented so we would like to try to fix those as well.

- Brick Joke: In every shot of the house floating through space, a bicycle is seen orbiting the house. In the final shot of the film, the bike crashes back into the front yard after everyone leaves.
- Walter to Lisa, which earns him a Death Glare from her: [[spoiler: "Still think I have gorgeous eyes?"
- My God, What Have I Done?: The Astronaut describes this as his genuine reaction when he made the mistake of wishing his brother away years ago and could not complete the game without him.
- Or what she almost done. Lisa's reaction upon learning that her crush the Astronaut is actually a future version of her brother Walter.
Lisa: Oh my God! And I wanted to... - An Aesop: The Astronaut to Walter and Danny: "There's just some games you can't play alone and you must work together as a team".
- Big Damn Heroes: The Astronaut is this to Walter and Danny, helping them fend off the Zorgons, the giant robot and other dangers in the game.
- Lisa is this to her little brothers, using a piano to crush a Zorgon.
- Heel–Face Turn: The robot after it is reprogrammed.

~Dezz Marie 95 (addendum because this keeps not happening whenever we try it): by "tell us the context you are missing for each trope" we mean for you to break down the trope to its necessary components from reading the description, then tell us which components are not present in the current writeup. Here's what we want that to look like:
- (Sample example) Dumb Blonde: Johanna is the ditziest and most sheltered of the group. She freely admits she is bad at school.
- Your answer: The example does not say that Johanna has blonde hair.

bummer. can I still suggest edit on a forum and ask users to add to pages for me? Like, i have in mind that Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters could use a gameBreaker entry. can i go to a forum to make this suggestion?
I have looked through the rules, and I know understand that rogue launching is bad because it is stealing from the original sponsor, and that a draft must be at least three days old, must have a full description, needs at least five hats, has to have least ten examples, and needs twelve page links. Discussions on the draft must be complete, let others know of intent to launch 24 hours before doing so, and refrain from making changes within those 24 hours. I am sorry and I will never launch a trope before it is ready again.

So why exactly am I suspended? I'm totally lost why I am. I've been a member of this site for over a decade and this is the first time this has happened. I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything that warranted a suspension.
