Spun off the main odd confessions thread; this thread is for odd confessions related to TV Tropes itself.
Excessive complaining isn't allowed anywhere on the site. Keep it out of this thread.
I felt guilty about having to remove some of the real life examples on Mandela Effect. I would not have removed them if they didn't violate site policy. I enjoyed reading those examples, and I'm sure the people who wrote them are not happy about them being removed.

I vaguely remember something like that happening, but I also remember a lot of other cases of ATT being backed up, so it could just as easily have been one of those times.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI checked the ATT queries from December of last year and didn't find anything like that, but that does sound like something that could have happened before more mods were recruited last year. In particular, I'm positive I've seen Edit Banned posts from mods saying why things are slower in December, and I previously mentioned that's probably the most I could do if Edit Banned gets backed up later this month.
Also, maybe the rest of this discussion should be moved to the meta thread.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Months ago I was really into the idea of getting BoBoiBoy into the Trope Pantheons, but my priorities were a mess at the time, and it doesn't help that I'm still behind on the sequel series too. I did get an idea of how stuff works from lurking the Pantheon discussion thread, but I probably overcomplicated how I'd introduce myself that I never got to do it lol.
The idea's not fully discarded, just on the backburner for a while. I prefer to prioritise working on the work's actual pages instead (when I do get back to that, maybe I haven't in a while cuz I was making pages for other works).
So far I've just the images to use and a couple of interaction ideas at the bottom of my sandbox. Though this image was from a sandbox forum post so I'll just have it here for safekeeping, even if I get to the idea (no problem if anyone steals it lmao, another BBB fan with that dedication would be a blessing to witness)

Pantheon Wick CleaningI am kind of glad that Analysis.Stock Food Depictions is getting more attention than Main.Stock Food Depictions because of the scope/tropeworthiness issues that some stock tropes/proposals have. I probably should have kept it in TLP indefinitely though.
Macron's notesThe image is great. As someone who has ascended a profile before, here's a tip: cooperate and follow the rules. If you don't, you'll have a hard time. Also, since you might be a starter, focus on single character profiles instead of group profiles. The latter is a pain to write.

Thanks for the compliment, as well as the tip . Hmm, maybe BBB won't be my first profile to work on in that case, I recently found the perfect trope for him but it also involves his elemental counterparts. I mean they're technically the same person but I'm accounting each of them so... oh well. A singular rework could be my first project there then.
But I'm gonna curb my enthusiasm for now and make participating in the Pantheon a new year thing for 2023. For something that I said was "on the backburner", I spent around 90 minutes of my study time working on it after my last post here 😅.
Pantheon Wick CleaningOkay I'm not posting Youtube videos again having to contextualize them anyway removes the fun of getting to put them in a post.
That now tropes have to specify they has to be significant is a both hilarious and sad anti-chair patch to appearance tropes.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupNo, the really sad part is that it's not necessarily even working.
Perhaps they can be monitored, and if someone is caught adding ZCEs, they can be suspended. Or immediately have an automatic PM sent to everyone who edits a Personal Appearance trope or wicks one telling them to make sure it's significant, but that sounds like way too complicated, and after that, they don't get that specific kind of PM anymore. The latter sounds a bit complicated though, as you'd need the bot to be able to tell if a page is edited, and by someone who hasn't edited it before since the bot's activation. It would also need to crawl through pages to see if any edit after it's activated has some wikiword that is specifically a personal appearance trope.
In total, this is a very complicated and difficult to solve problem. I don't think some of the people are even reading all the way through. A less drastic, but on a cleanup scale idea, would be to have bold italic text on each Personal Appearance trope and its subpages that tells the readers that before adding an example, they should check if it's significant.
wait this isn't the wiki side of the forums
Actual confession: I like the way TVT downgrades the quality of my art, which would cause it be clear that any person who stole my art didn't really draw it due to lacking the actual image with the actual high quality.

Implementing an automated PM system for the wiki would require more coding on the admins' part, and there are already a lot of other things we need more coding for. It would be simpler to just stick to the current system of users sending ZCE notifiers themselves and filing ATT reports when that doesn't work.
And speaking of coding changes, I was hoping the engineer position would have been implemented by now. (For the selfless reason of lightening the workload, not the inflated ego I joked about in this post.) Yeah, I suppose this confession isn't really odd, but at least I got the "TV Tropes confessions" part right.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.People are already suspended if they add too many ZCE after being warned. Appearance tropes are problematic not necessarily for being ZCE magnets, but because they often have no context other than the character's appearance, which means even the "good" examples are bad. That's why we're weeding them out; Significant White Hair, Dark Skin, for example, is different from the original trope because it has a significance requirement.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSpent evening working on as much Administrivia.Images Without A Source as I could for no reason but at least some work is done there.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI always have Show Spoilers on.
Some call it stalking, I say walking just extremely close behindOn a similar note, maybe not too "odd" but I wish you could turn off/on Show Spoilers for specific work pages. For works I've finished (or don't care that much about), I obviously don't mind, but I still don't wanna get spoiled for stuff I'm interested in but haven't experienced yet

"Leftover items still have value!"Me too. I'm a Spoiler Cat, I guess. :p
Cibrylls have trouble picking which avatar to use at times, so it changes on a whim at times~Speaking of Spoiler Hound, really loving example-less trope pages.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI keep spoilers on unless there's a work everyone is talking about that I don't want spoilers for. Then I shut them off.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI keep spoilers shown both because of being a Spoiler Hound, and not liking seeing giant walls of white in posts/ articles.

"How can I bring joy when I now know we are bringing misery to thousands of innocent people?"I keep Show Spoilers on too.
THE GOLDEN AGE WILL RETURN AGAIN!I don't care about spoilers but I do care about checking the markup is working as intended for a potential reader.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupOne time when I was talking to one of my friends, I paraphrased the description about how multiplayer in the first two Diablo games could be just as much of a drawback as an advantage, and so I used the Soup Nazi's catchphrase for something that has more than four syllables. ^_^;;
"Have a bad Internet connection or just personally prefer single player? No high level equipment for you!"
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.I sometimes watch interesting Edit Banned/Suspended cases to see how they end. Mostly because it's a Troper I know, they have an interesting way of writing, the situation is much more different than others, or just because I want to.
It's like watching a series which has the episodes come out slowly with each post, and the verdict of whether or not a person is released is like the ending. I've seen both good and bad endings. Good being releases, and bad being bans.
Made myself a notepad script to sort lines disregarding brackets, namespaces and "The". Feels good to know to code because I don't want to spend an hour alphabetizing one page.

If I can't recall something clearly, I default to thinking I must be imagining things, because it's likely. I'm not sure if it did happen, but there was a case of vandalism and nobody responded in ATT or moderation thread for way over a day because at least two mods explicitly said they'll be busy with families.
