- Species: Ghost
- Age: 16 (at time of death)
- Appearance: She wears a fancy pink dress and a tiara, as the night she was killed was supposed to be the night she went to a ball. She has a hole in he chest from the gunshot. Her hair was blonde, but is now white. Her eyes are purple.
- Backstory: Senki grew up in a rich family, and she was very popular. However, her and the rest of her family were shot in a robbery, and the robber is now a very successful person, much to her chagrin.
- Personality: Hateful, mournful and unhappy. Her spirit can't rest until the robber who killed her dies. She still retains some traits from life, such as her spirit and pride.
- Strengths: Able to walk through walls and make creepy moaning sounds in order to distract a person.
- Weaknesses: Will quite literally do ANYTHING in order to get the robber his comeuppance, making her easy to manipulate if this is promised to her.
- Misc: Her parents' names were Obashi and Shiyi, however they have already ascended, while Senki has unfinished business.

- Appearance: He has the form of a black cat with a tail that separates itself into two in the middle and lits up in fire when he uses his power, he uses a red collar with a yellow cat bell, and he also has a humanoid transformation that looks like a young cute dark-skinned boy which maintains his double tail, cat ears, and his long fangs and claws.
- Backstory: Coming from the Far East, Yami-chan has always loved adventure, playing pranks, and playing games, tired of things remaining too boring and predictable back home, he began to travel the world in the search of new experiences.
- Personality: He's a mischievous feline that enjoys nothing more than playing tricks on others, he's pretty laid back and lazy and he doesn't really care much about material objects, despite all that, he's generally friendly and enjoys meeting new people, he's also constantly curious and will often ask questions about anything new.
- Strengths: Capable of transforming, casting Illusions, and summoning fire, as well as having the natural agility, instincts, and speed of a cat.
- Weaknesses: He's pretty easily distracted and often acts impulsively without thinking about the consequences.
- Misc: his favorite food is cheese.

- Appearance: He wears a tuxedo and has short black hair. His eyes are brown.
- Backstory: Seikoto started out as a robber in the streets, and struck it rich after getting rid of a few targets. He used his new money to build an empire, and he now owns the most popular video game company around this time.
- Personality: Seems like a nice guy; after all, no one has discovered what he did. He feels no guilt for killing Senki and her parents.
- Strengths: Good at lying, very successful.
- Weaknesses: Has a ghost on his tail.

- Name: Jacoby Sludge
- Gender: Male
- Species: A Gill Man-esque fish creature
- Age: Vaguely 20-something
- Appearance: A bipedal sea-green fish man who is about 6'5''
- Backstory: Jacoby lived in a swamp most of his life and grew up being told horror stories by his peers about what humans do to monsters. Because of this, he was so scared of leaving his swamp for years until his friend, the gargoyle Elisa, convinced him of the effort to get humans and monsters to get along and using a human ally of hers as proof monsters and humans can get along, prompting him to leave his swamp for the first time.
- Personality: Very neurotic, timid, and socially awkward, and is prone to acting irrationally. When the going gets tough and/or someone he cares about is in danger, though, watch out.
- Strengths: Swimming skills are par excellence. Also has considerable upper body strength.
- Weaknesses: Electric-based attacks and high heat.
- Name: Elisa
- Gender: Female
- Species: Gargoyle
- Age: 400, but physically/mentally around the same age as Jacoby
- Appearance: Looks like a violet humanoid pterodactyl with two enormous wings on her back. Wears a blue flight suit of her own creation and a small pearl-shaped charm that enables her to move around during the day.
- Backstory: Fleeing from hostile humans, Elisa's rookery took up residence on a small cathedral in a secluded village and were allowed to stay there by the church's archdeacon (who felt sorry for the rookery and allowed them a safe place to stay). By day Elisa would be in inanimate form on a cathedral, but by night she would fly around exploring her village and the surrounding area. One night her journeys took her to the swamp where she met Jacoby. Her conversations with him about how terrifying he finds humans made her feel sorry for him since she knows humans who can treat non-hostile monsters with kindness (like the archdeacon at the cathedral), and so she took a family heirloom that would grant her the ability to be alive during the day as well as night and began trying to figure out a way to help him get him comfortable around humans and vice versa.
- Personality: Elisa is somewhat vain, openly proud of her figure, her large wings, and flying prowess, though at the same time she is still genuine friends with Jacoby and would like to see humans and monsters be able to coexist, since she feels that her rookery being able to co-exist peacefully with the archdeacon and his family at the cathedral is proof that they can.
- Strengths: Stellar at aerial combat and fist-fighting.
- Weaknesses: Is a Fragile Speedster overall and would be rendered unable to move if separated from her charm during the day.
Hero of Love Town
- Name: Malti Ecal
- Gender: Female
- Species: Alien
- Age: 23
- Appearance: She has the look of a little green man with the size of "4,5" and skinny, with her big black eyes, with no nose and a darker green hair, her outfit is of her normal lab working uniform with her black uniform pants along with a human jacket and shoes.◊
- Backstory: Part of a scouting ship, Malti was sent out along with other fellow scientists to go to an unknown gravitationally bound system of a star, A.K.A our Solar System, they made way scanning each planet learning about what use they can be to them until making way to the star, flying past earth, they came in close to see what power is in this star before they can scan more, a wave comes out of the sun hitting the ship sending the scientists into panic, they ran into an escape pod area to fly away from the failing ship, with one lagging behind, Malti, she gets into an escape pod and tries to fly off only for the ship to hit her pod after the ship was hit with another wave, sending the pod crashing down to earth without the others to know of Malti surviving, the pod landing in the house of something before being forced to run after the owner opened fire at Malti leaving her to hide away in an old barn.
- Personality: Malti being a alien of science is one to be acting with her brain for what happens and what to do, even with that she is a optimistic alien with a showoff like ego.
- Strengths: Being not just an alien but also a scientist, she is very much smart, once again the mix of being an alien and her smarts let her use a weak form of telekinesis on small objects to move them.
- Weaknesses: From how strong (to her) the gravity of earth is, her body is very much weak, making her take hits poorly and her hits being nothing, along with her easily getting tired.

- Name: Rosamund Sveynsdóttir
- Gender: Female
- Species: Werewolf
- Age: 45
- Appearance: Typically concealed almost entirely by a heavy white and cyan robe, traditional of the clergy in her homeland. At most, padded and clawed hands, a sliver of muzzle and a few strands of long silver hair are visible. When she prepares for battle, or on the rare occasion where she decides to relax and cut loose a little, the robe comes off to reveal a sleek, grey-furred werewolf with long silver hair and pale grey-blue eyes, clad in simple, practical leather armour. In her rarely-seen human form, her hair is blonde and she has a distinctly Nordic look, with sharp, refined facial features that bring to mind wolves even without the knowledge of her true form.
- Backstory: Rosamund Sveynsdóttir isn't from around these parts. Her homeland was a little monster village in a far-off country, where she was a priest of the local faith, as generations of her family had been before her. She could use defensive magic, but not to any great degree - when would she ever need to fight for her life in such a sweet little town?
The answer, as it turned out, was when a fanatical monster-hunting sect descended upon the town and razed it to the ground. Rosamund was one of the few survivors, able to fend the hunters off long enough to make a desperate break for it, fleeing deep into the woods until she knew not where she was. Since then, she has lived an itinerant life, burdened with the guilt of not being able to save anyone that day - and possessed of an intense desire to ensure no other monster need suffer the loss of all they love. She took any opportunity she could to learn more and more intensive defensive magic, and supplemented it with an intense self-taught hand to hand combat regimen.
Now, Rosamund is a self-styled wandering protector of monsterkind. Many a hunter has been warded off by a sudden magical barrier throwing them aside, and a calm yet stern voice in the shadows telling them to "hunt somewhere else". She wishes she could do more than save only whoever she happens to meet at the right time, but for now, she does what she can.
- Personality: Rosamund initially scans to most as stoic, an impression aided by her concealed face and unwaveringly calm voice. Sure enough, she's very devoted to her purpose, but the truth of the matter is that she's a lot more caring and emotive than she might let on. Hang around her enough, catch her with the hood down, and she'll reveal herself as a gentle, soft-spoken sort with an overwhelming maternal instinct. But your initial impression of her as an unflinching warrior was also correct - she will not let cruel acts in her presence slide, and she refuses to back down in the face of danger.
- Strengths: Possessed of an arsenal of defensive spells that allow her to nullify attacks and disarm attackers in countless ways. Effective hand-to-hand combatant. Courageous and difficult to intimidate.
- Weaknesses: Not nearly so effective when it comes to offensive magical techniques. "The best offense is a good defense" - except when it isn't. Since she's a self-taught wanderer and not a professional in any combat discipline, she can be overwhelmed by more disciplined fighters. Folds easily to situations that exploit her conscience, e.g. hostage scenarios.

- Rosamund's first language is not the native language of the main setting, and she has a noticeable accent. Her voiceclaim is Björk.
- Though she hasn't even seen a church of her faith in years, let alone actively worked as a clergywoman, Rosamund remains devoutly religious, praying in her native tongue before any major undertaking.

- Name: Patch
- Gender: Male
- Species: Crocodile (undead)
- Age: 20-something at the time of his death, chronologically now over 100 years old
- Appearance: A bipedal, skeletal crocodile about 5-6 feet tall, with Glowing Eyelights of Undeath. The source of his life force is also visible inside his ribcage as a glowing ball of light.
- Backstory: After dying at a young age, he was somehow brought back to life as a reanimated skeleton. He doesn't like to talk much about his past life or the circumstances behind his death, assuming he even knows what they are. Now he mostly wanders the forest, looking for a purpose.
- Personality: Serious, bordering on Perpetual Frowner (or would be if he physically could smile).
- Strengths: Being a skeleton, he doesn't feel pain in the same way living beings do and can reattach his bones and even his head if necessary. He also doesn't need to sleep, but is still able to do it when he feels like it.
- Weaknesses: Can have his bones knocked off involuntarily if hit with enough strength, and despite being undead, he is still vulnerable to being "killed" if his core is damaged. He also can't eat food.

Name: "Bird-Thing" ("-what should we call such a horrid thing? Look at it-")
Gender: Male...? (just as likely to be called "it", "they", or "he" by others)
Species: Mildly anthropomorphic bird creature, otherwise unknown.
Age: ("-you know that some crows and ravens can live up to 20 years? How many years have you-") Unknown
Appearance: A strange creature, roughly four feet tall, that resembles a humanoid crow. (the fluttering of wings, and the sound of birds faraway) It has a slight hunchback, accentuated by a long neck that usually remains closely tucked to the body. One eye is black and relatively healthy, while the other is a milky white, swollen orb ("-it's beautiful tonight, you can see the reflection of the moon in the water...") that provides no sight. Its beak has a jagged jawline, and it has a tongue than sharply bends into a hardened, spearlike shape. Its legs look much like the bird it could call kin, while its arms ends in a four-fingered, clawed hands that provide no use for flight. Its whole body -except for its beak, hands, and legs- is covered with shaggy black feathers, with its tail feathers growing long without interference. (something growls, clawing at metal) Otherwise, see this dubious-quality image:
Backstory: Neither Bird-Thing nor others know of its origin. ("-tonight's show of "Strange Things and Other Things, we have-") The first thing it remembers is waking up in the middle of a clearing in the woods, the full moon shining on its feathers.
Personality: Bird-Thing's thoughts are split down from those of a human and those of a bird. It's very intelligent, but has little knowledge of most sapients' cultural norms. Oddly, it shows a notable fascination with humans, ("-what you can relate to, what you can't have-") despite the fact that most tend to be scared by the creature. It primarily feeds and small plants and animals, a diet much like like that of its presumed kind, upscaled. Sometimes when meeting an animal, it can't tell if it should consider the beast friend, foe, or food. ("-described as fighting, fleeing, feeding, and-")
Strengths:
- Vocal Mimicry: While Bird-Thing's voice is normally restricted to bizarre creaks and loud caws, it can mimic a large range of sounds (the sound of machinery, and the spraying of sap) with notable accuracy. While very accurate, a sharp ear can hear the distortions (the feedback of a microphone, and a radio station out of range) present in the mimicry. This is its main way of communicating ("Hi!...Hi? Hi!") with those that can't understand its natural sounds.
- Twisted Oracle: Most of the time, Bird-Thing repeats what it can hear from around it, though sometimes only with loose meaning compared to the original source ("-whether it's "An eye for an eye." or "Turn the other cheek.", does it-") However, long unheard sounds (the sound of fire burning film) and best-hidden secrets ( "-didn't mean it, I didn't mean it! You have to believe-") sometimes find themselves spilling from its jagged beak. It seems to have some limited knowledge of the fact that it shouldn't know these noises, and covers its beak with its hands after the fact.
Weaknesses:
- Smart as a Bird: While Bird-Thing is definitely more intelligent than its handless brethren, its behavior and knowledge tend to be animalistic. While considering itself to be a friend to humans ("-is it true that you only consider things from your point of view?"), its strange appearance and behavior lead to many running away.
- Not Super Strong: While strong enough to dispatch prey with ease ("-the struggling mouse is clenched in its jaws-") and defend itself in a tight situation, Bird-Thing is not strong compared to many monsters. Due to this, it tends to rely on more creative methods of dealing with threads, exploiting its small size and mimicry. ("-can't run, hide. If you can't hide-")
Extra:
- Yes, some crow tongues really do look like that..
- There's not really any voiceclaim I can do here, other than "crow noises but a bit freakier".
- For the sake of easier introductions, should I enter the RP when the characters leave the cave, or when they enter the swamp?

This is the signup thread for my upcoming ITT thread, We Are Monsters on a Spooky Quest. It takes place in an Überwald setting inhabited by all kinds of monsters along with humans, but monsters and humans do not get along at all. Monster hunters have been coming after us monsters for centuries, even those of us that aren't evil.
Your character can be any kind of monster you want, as long as it's not overpowered, NSFW, or otherwise breaks the TV Tropes rules.
You can also use this thread to suggest NPCs. You could create a monster hunter or someone else to be your character's personal Big Bad in their life, or other supporting characters you want to see.
The thread will start in a few days, but you can sign up at any time, and join the thread any time after it starts.
