We need to split the Sun and Moon page. Any suggestions?

Aether Foundation already has its own page, so it can possibly stay. Lusamine herself is at 64,962 bytes, so she would warrant a Character-Specific Page, but let us trim the page further.

I feel that The Worf Effect is misused on several pages for characters for Pokémon: The Series. One example of proper use is when talking about Iris's Dragonite being beaten by Ash's Krookodile, Charizard and Dracovish because he got easily stomped into the ground by all 3. One misuse is applying it to Korrina's Lucario because the only time it counted was when he was beaten by Alain's Charizard and while Korrina's Lucario was beaten by Ash's Pikachu and Dragonite, he still put up incredibly difficult fights. Plus, we didn't see his fight with Korrina's Pokémon.

Went ahead and changed all mentions of Meganekko to Bespectacled Cutie per TRS. Also commented out one example for being vague.

What should we do about this, in the wake of the announcement of Scarlet and Violet?

Wait until there are actually characters to trope?

On Characters.Pokemon Generation II Chikorita To Granbull page, Unown's picture is not transparent. I can possibly create a transparent version of it, or we can just replace with the official artwork of F Unown.

Use F Unown.

Why that one? I don't know if transparency would be worth it if the characters are mostly black (like, near-000000 black). It also has a decent self-aware bit of charm. Keep as is, maybe transparentise.

I don't mind the current image, but the F Unown would also work.

As for why it's the "F" one specifically, it's because that one for some reason has basically become the Face Of The Band as far as the unowns are concerned. Search "Unown" into Google and it's the one that pops up.

I feel like current has a bit more charm.

That said, F Unown is good enough if current doesn't work.

Speaking of images, I recommend that each and every human character should have their original artwork whenever possible under whatever is the remake art just to remind people of how these characters change over time.

I mean, Koga's character folder just shows his most recent appearance in Let's Go... and it looks very jarring compared to the other members of the Elite Four (not counting Bruno) who retain their HGSS. And really, the artwork is all over the place that I'm glad that BDSP just simply did 3D renderings of the original character artworks, meaning that there's an excuse to reuse the old artwork for Lucas and Dawn over their Platinum images.

Speaking of that, several images from Legends: Arceus still have that outline.

The thing with the white outlines is that around the release of Sword and Shield, this has been somewhat consistent design choice in the art. Heck, even the actual trailers keep the outlines in.

I know, but I brought up outline-free images of Mai and Arezu on the Night Vision quality cleanup, and Wilbyr appeared to like those images better.

The white outline/glow is part of the official art; I don't see why we should remove it. Mai and Arezu's images on Characters.Pokemon Legends Arceus should be reverted for consistency.

Re:Unown, when we changed all Pokémon character images from in-game models to official art, the Image Pickin' thread decided to keep the Unown spelling "TROPES" (I believe they spelled "TVTROPES" before) and keep the white background because the Unown are dark gray and would blend in with the Night Vision background.

Shadao: Some tropers falsely believe a new installment being released is reason to change character images without discussion to their most recent appearance. It annoyed me so much that the Kanto characters all had their art changed to the chibi Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! art that before Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl came out, I added a comment at the top of every Sinnoh character page saying not to change the images without Image Pickin' discussion.

I'm hoping we can pivot to the reorganization again. Stuff like images can be better discussed once the new pages are in place.

I brought the issue of the white glows on character images to the Night Vision Image Quality Cleanup thread.

The Sun & Moon Character Page is apparently too long. It needs to be broken up.

As I said before, the Aether Foundation page already has the biggest profile of the human characters, so keeping the page is probably the safest bet.

As for Unown, I did figure there was a proper reason for the image, this is mainly for consistency with artstyle and transparent images.

I think we can just split it roughly the way it was (Protags/Rivals, Trial Captains/Kahunas, Other NP Cs, Aether Foundation) but this time each page will be properly sorted with Characters.Pokemon Sun And Moon Insert Subpage Here.

So, why were the images on the pages for the Generation I-VI Pokémon changed from the 3D models from XY/Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire to the official artwork?
