- This villain. Full stop, enough said.
- Let me elaborate. He may be a minor villain, but everything about this villain’s existence is pure unadulterated Nightmare Fuel, at least for people under the age of 7. That counts for something.
- Look, he’s even on the page image! It’s sure to slightly unnerve the daylights out of you!
- um actually, the image got removed by image pickin’ for being misuse?
- Shut up.

- The Yu-Gi-Oh! card Mushroom Man is absolutely Nightmare Fuel. Why? Because it's a mushroom person. You know what horror movie had mushroom people in it? Matango.
- By extension, every mushroom person in a work is Nightmare Fuel
- WarioWare Get it Together! features a microgame literally called "Nightmare Fuel" and rightfully so, as the game features smoke clouds in the shape of scary-looking ghosts.
- The Railway Series: Some of the vehicles have a face on both ends. Can you imagine if a person had a face on both ends? That would be freaky.
Heck, in the same franchise, train engines have both a mind of their own and a conductor! How horrifying it is to be a sentient vehicle but at the same time have a little man sitting inside your body controlling you?
- Nightmare Fuel: Kermit the Frog is quite possibly one of the most terrifying characters ever created in fiction. Enough said.
- If you thought Kermit was bad, his prototype counterpart from the old Wilkins Coffee commercials was somehow even worse.

Ever wanted to see the most inexplicably horrifying intro to a game ever? The zoombinis are shockingly hideous for a children's game.

Check out my forum game: Rate the above YMMV.The whole of My Little Pony: A New Generation is pure Nightmare Fuel if you take the interpretation that Sunny's in a coma after a horrible skating accident and the whole movie is just her Dying Dream. Never mind that there's no evidence for it in the story itself - you can't prove conclusively that it isn't what's happening, so it must be the case.
I like cute things. You gotta deal with it.- Dust: An Elysian Tail: Fidget makes a joke about biting Dust's face off. It's really gory to think about, even if she never does anything to show that she would be capable of doing this. But it creates gruesome mental images that are sure to stay in your mind for maybe 20 seconds.
- My cat is usually just a cat, but if it's dark, and the angle is right, his eyes will glow.
Every musical ever- Just think about how people randomly burst into singing out of nowhere. It's kinda creepy when you think about it.
BTW, please call me Jake.Doom-shroom, man! Who cares if he's actually a powerful plant that can come in handy?! He's got a frown and a scar! That's all that matters!

It doesn't matter if anything's scary or not. If you can think of anything that's even the slightest bit spooky, then it's 100% Certified Nightmare Fuel! Here are a couple of examples to start off:
- Picking at a hangnail. Peeling at your skin already sounds unpleasant enough, but if you do it hard enough blood starts to gush out. Most of the time, it's a small amount of blood, but what makes it even worse is that it's hyperrealistic.
- From time to time you'll see evil text. It's red text with a black background. Yeesh.
- I listened to a loud song. It had vocals in them but I didn't care if they were "angry-sounding" or not I just got scared :(
Of course, if you need any more examples, look no further than the Nightmare Fuel cleanup thread.Edited by Wafer on Oct 25th 2021 at 3:02:40 AM
