Is Bullmen or Bull People more common?
I feel like we should have a title crowner for this type of thread. Anyway, my suggestion would be Bovine People.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."I guess Bovine People works.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Same.

Either Bovine People or Our Minotaurs Are Different will work for me.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI like both choices.
Kirby is awesome.Since the reason for why this trope misused is because of the name, does anyone want a Crowner for this one?
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."A crowner would work, but it's too soon to have one. We have to wait until at least the 27th before making a crowner, per the Three-Day Rule.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Bovine People seems nice.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."The description seems to only talk about minotaurs, so if it's meant to include bovine people in general that should be made more clear. If it's only intended to be about minotaurs, then I'd support renaming to Our Minotaurs Are Different.
The wick check doesn't have any non-minotaur bovine people, so they're probably rare. We can apply Tropes Are Flexible to any that pop up.
Yeah, I think if a work had, say, an Ox-based Minotaur it'd still be a Minotaur, just a unique kind of one.
I like Our Minotaurs Are Different, mostly for consistency's sake.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI was thinking specifically of firbolgs from Critical Role (humanoids with bovine facial features and long, furry ears); would they apply to this trope?
That sounds more like Beast Man to me, but maybe.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI like Bovine People, since Our Minotaurs Are Different seems to be a bit bandwagon-y.
For every low there is a high.Nearly all of the good examples on the wick check are specifically called Minotaurs, though. How about Minotaurs And Bovine People?
That's a pretty good compromise and I don't mind that being the new name.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Isn't A Load Of Bull a subtrope of Beast Man?
Anyway, Minotaurs And Bovine People is a pretty good name. Maybe Our Bovine People Are Different could work as well, since minotaurs are bull men by definition.

Vi: Well, it's not like we're getting attacked by a giant wasp spider guardian! | Leif: Never combine those words ever again. So, we're all in favor of renaming the trope and making the original name a disambiguation between the old name and Brutish Bulls? So we can just skip straight for the new name crowner? Gotta clarify before I'll get to making it.
Vi: Well, it's not like we're getting attacked by a giant wasp spider guardian! | Leif: Never combine those words ever again.Sounds like a good idea.
Crown Description:
A Load Of Bull is commonly confused with Brutish Bulls. What should be done with A Load Of Bull?
So, here's an issue: A Load Of Bull is supposed to be a trope about minotaurs and other bovine humanoids. The name, of course, does get the "bovine" part right...but the part where it's supposed to be bovine humanoids is, sadly, not illustrated well, which, of course, leads to the trope suffering from misuse, even though we already have a trope about non-humanoid bulls — Brutish Bulls.
A wick check was made to determine the amount of misuse, and the results showed that:
So, the best suggestion to fix the issue? Rename the trope. A Load Of Bull is a bullshit name for a trope to describe minotaurs (and other bovine humanoids). Old name can be kept either as a redirect or a disambiguation between the new name for the trope and Brutish Bulls. As of new name, we can decide it during the discussion. (Our Minotaurs Are Different? Minotaurs And Bullmen? Bull People? Bovine Humanoid? Your suggestion? Time will tell what name will be picked!)
