Still going down the List of Listicles for Cutlisting... and I've learned some time back that a new Rolling Stone list has been created since we've tackled the AFI lists. Figured I'd use this opportunity to tackle all the Rolling Stone lists, and if at all possible the remaining Music publication lists (NME, Acclaimed Music). Basically for similar reasons (copyright, adds nothing except the contents of the list). Can the film publications in the list of lists be included too?

So yeah, cut these:

And can the scope be expanded to include the following?

Music

Film

I'm in favor of cutting because these pages copied lists from other works that we don't have permission to host, so it could be copyright infringement. Same reason why I was in favor of cutting the AFI pages.

I added banners to all the pages listed in the opening post, including Website.Acclaimed Music (which was brought up because of the lists on the page and not the fact that we page a page about that website at all).

I understand that those indices could run afoul the plagiarism rules.

No qualm against cutting them either, they contribute to index bloating.

I don't know why I was alerted to this, since I don't remember ever touching these (if I ever did, it was just some gnomish link fixing)...but yeah, cut.

I definitely agree to cut based on infringement concerns alone.

I will say for the Rolling Stone ones specifically, the red links were useful in showing albums and artists lacking a page on here. I know Works' Pages Are a Free Launch, There Is No Such Thing as Notability, and all that stuff but it does make me wish for some sort of page that was like "Works in Need of a Page" if you feel like a work page would make sense to exist, but you may not be familiar enough with the work to start creating it/placing tropes.

Admittedly the first page for Rolling Stone's "greatest albums" list is the only reason why I made the article for Changesonebowie; that said, given everything described here, the list and its ilk can all be cut. Not only is it possibly copyright infringement, but speaking from experience, they also encourage inappropriately including audience reaction talk (including critical reception) on work pages.

I'd say move the redlinks over to Summary.Music, then cut.

It seems like all the artists unaccounted for in the original editions of the Rolling Stone lists have been listed before. I have just added all the artists unaccounted in the recent revisions of the songs and albums lists.

In terms of albums... I'm not sure. I added a few glaring omissions that resided near the top of the album list, but I feel like a lot of them are redundant if the artist is most known for one album, at least in terms of individually listing them in the summary page. Once the artist page is created, then it can be a springboard for the album page existing if so desired. Because of this, I am all for cutting the pages ASAP if you all are ready.

I hollered to ask the mods if it was safe to call, but either they weren't online when I sent the message, or they overlooked it (they've said recently that a holler is automatically sent every time an Image Pickin thread is made, and those can potentially drown out manually sent hollers).
