Well, I've been moving the on-page examples each time I dewick. So none of the tropes have been turned into redirects yet, but...

One of them has: The Tale

Not all enormous tropes get split. Only when they have to. And individual cons aren't worth splitting from The Con, especially since most of them barely have any wicks with context. (Most of what I've been deleting are either misused examples or just "character does this".)

The con has less than 300 wicks right now even after several tropes have been dewicked. I think we'll be fine.

No offense, but I don't think this is the place for broad, sweeping criticisms of common practices. Still, I'm amenable to splitting these tropes back off at some point if enough examples to justify doing so can be found.

Well then, it sounds like you have valid reasons to be upset. Honestly, I've been saying for some time that we need some easy way to spread the word about these discussions in advance.

The very next post after that is a potential explanation: "I'm thinking The Mark got concensus as it's an integral part of The Con. Can't have a con without a mark."

That is a separate issue that should be tackled externally, and we are trying various methods to get the word out. But it is simply infeasible for the TRS to sit around and wait for new folks to find out about new discussions and join in. It took almost a month for this thread to get that crowner started, which is already quite a long time.

You can hang around the workshop forums (this, Trope Talk, etc) to see if folks are likely to bring a page you like for repair. But complaining that a decision got made without your input is not constructive.

You're allowed to be upset, but coming in here and asking if it's a "fucking joke", sending complain-y PMs to Tabs, and refusing to even listen to the other side of the argument while dismissing everything we say as nonsense...yeah, there's a huge difference between coming in to protest in good-faith, and coming in to rant and insult the people who made the decision.

Point is, you're not here to argue in good-faith. You want to complain. You're allowed to be upset but you won't get anywhere by being a dick about it.

It's not like the decision would have been different if you came in earlier, as everyone else was in favour of the merge.

Yeah... maybe we shouldn't say things that might discourage participation in TRS. I think you might wanna strike that through.
