Glee's heyday was in the early 2010s, and it shows in most of the subpages. However, its most problematic section is the recap pages, many of which have:

  • Overly long summaries. For example, as of this writing Recap.Glee S 1 E 1 Pilot has about 20. Recap summaries should be a few paragraphs max; they should not be play-by-play of every little thing that happens in the series. Feel free to refer to other websites for a summary of what happens (but don't plagiarize).
  • Snarky commentary and fan reaction: These need to be summarily excised and rewritten to be objective. For example, Recap.Glee S 4 E 4 The Break Up begins with:
You see the title, you know what's coming, so let's get through it. Oh, and just to remind you, Tina/Mike broke up off screen, because it's not like they were the most stable couple on the show having dated for TWO YEARS!
  • YMMV and ZCE in the examples: Routine cleanup, commenting out, removal, or moving. For example, Recap.Glee S 4 E 7 Dynamic Duets.

My experience with the show is strictly Pop-Cultural Osmosis, but wasn't there a significant culture around episode recaps or something that leads to much wordier recaps than most pages?

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

Yeah, I remember NBC used to call the Recap Episodes Glee-caps, and it would be a big deal in the fandom.

Also, you can find overzealous fangirliness not just in the recap pages, but on any subpage.

For example, this is at the top of the YMMV page:

Please keep in mind that Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment still applies here. If you just want to rant about your love or hatred for a particular character/ship/event, take it to the Glee discussion thread.

Well, this got ATT'd for the xth time, so I finally cleaned out Recap.Glee S 1 E 1 Pilot. I put the formerly very long description in the discussion in case anyone wants it for reference and then removed misuse, trivia etc. from the examples list.

Copying this from the main Recap cleanup thread to save time typing (not completely awake at the moment):

I don't know if I'll get very involved in this thread, but I thought I'd bring up that the Glee Recap pages had a dedicated page in the WebOriginal/ namespace (WebOriginal.TV Tropes Glee Recaps) at one point. It was cutlisted per this ATT query for Auto-Erotic Troping. Have these Recap pages been problematic in the past?

The immediate issue that comes to mind is the level of snark. While snark is good, the Recap.Glee pages are overly so, almost to the point of bashing.

Yeah, that's in the OP. Complaining/bashing is a big no-no and you can go ahead and remove snarkiness that edges on that.

Sorry for necroposting, but I hope to get the ball rolling again by doing this; I've skimmed through every single of the pages so I can give y'all a checklist of sorts for all the episodes that still need cleanup. Without further ado, they are:

     Season 1
Ep. 5: The Rhodes Not Taken (A little saltiness here and there, but nothing major)
Ep. 7: Throwdown
Ep. 8: Mash Up
Ep. 9: Wheels
Ep. 13: Sectionals
Ep. 14: Hell-O (The summaries are only gonna get longer from here...)
Ep. 15: The Power of Madonna
Ep. 16: Home (oh god we're starting to use ship names now)
Ep. 17: Reputation
Ep. 18: Laryngitis ("human cockroach Jacob Ben Israel" just bugs me)
Ep. 19: Dream On
Ep. 22: Journey to Regionals

     Season 2
Ep. 1: Audition (Seriously, this guy's beef with this one minor character is INSANE)
Ep. 5: The Rocky Horror Glee Show
Ep. 6: Never Been Kissed
Ep. 7: The Substitute ("No, there won't be a substitute recapper." At this rate, I wish there was...)
Ep. 8: Furt
Ep. 9: Special Education (No tropes? Not even one? Seriously?)
Ep. 10: A Very Glee Christmas (Again, zero tropes!)
Ep. 11: The Sue Sylvester Shuffle
Ep. 14: Blame it On the Alcohol
Ep. 17: A Night of Neglect
Ep. 22: New York

     Season 3
Ep. 18: Choke
Ep. 20: Props (Hey, only two; not bad, guys! [tup])

     Season 4

     Season 5

     Season 6

Just wanted to give y'all a helping hand!
