"Roz Mosis" is supposed to be a Punny Name for a drag queen. What's the pun?

- But that's not that funny? How does it relate to being a drag queen, unlike the other Fran Tasia, which is a Fantasia pun?

- True. Fantasy-themes sorta fit the location / theme of dressing up and being flamboyant?

In any case, an off-theme pun is still a pun.

Yeah, it's still a pun. Not all drag queen names are related to drag.

Re: Smashing guitars — I can't find anything one way or another. The vagueness makes it hard to fact check, although I found plenty of articles about the history of smashing guitars. The anecdote reads very "and everybody clapped" to me.

Re: Mega Man — Idk about repentance, but Wily survives in the original Japanese version of Mega Man Battle Network 6.

Take That, Audience! claims that Karen's after-battle quote in Pokémon Gold and Silver is intended as a Take That! to competitive players. While in later years it's often used as such, I don't believe that was the intention back then (as in 1999 there was basically no such thing as a competitive scene from Pokémon as far as I know), and actually was more intended as teaching the lesson about how your rival's way of thinking is wrong.

You're correct. The competitive battling scene as we know it didn't exist yet.

This is a commented out entry on Trivia.Xenoblade Chronicles X since there is no citation, so I want to know if it’s true or not.

• Troubled Production: The development team for this game was relatively inexperienced, and had a great deal of difficulty implementing the multiplayer mode on top of the open world map, with discussions on whether to scrap it altogether because implementing it was proving so troublesome. The Animal Crossing examples on ArtisticLicensePaleontology.Video Games are all fine, but this one caught my eye:

"tachi-e" literally translates as "standing picture" but specifically refers to the character sprites when used in a visual novel context, yes. danbooru's definition:

So there is a popular claim that I tend to see a lot not only here, but everywhere else. That being the idea that Gopher was intended to replace Piglet in Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree. However, I have trouble believing this to be the case.

Not only are there no real reliable sources for such a fact (the oldest source comes from an old Pooh fan site (which has since gone down), which claims Wolfgang said it, but I don't see anything directly from Wolfgang himself that says Piglet was replaced by Gopher in interviews and the site doesn't cite any sources), but there is arguably more evidence that suggests Piglet was planned to appear in the film but was scrapped at the last minute, as he is featured in the opening theme song, concept art◊ and the promo◊ posters◊ (alongisde an scrapped Truer to the Text design of Tigger), and a plush toy of him appears in the live-action segment at the beginning of the short.

There is also this documentary that goes into Gopher's origins and nowhere does anyone in it say he is meant to replace Piglet, it's true that he was added to add an American flavor to the story and to give American kids someone to get attached to, but it seems there are no verifiable claims to the idea that he was meant to outright replace Piglet.

Could anyone find any verifiable claims to this factoid.

I guess they mean that Gopher replaces Piglet in a narrative sense, because IIRC Gopher fills the same role that Piglet did in the original story.

I can't find any evidence of this under What Could Have Been on Trivia.Half Life Decay. It was originally added to WhatCouldHaveBeen.Half Life by ~Samz, but then Matthew Wayne moved everything on that page to the games' respective Trivia pages for some reason, only leaving unreleased games. Samz, where did you hear that?

• Unused voice lines indicate you could tell the AI partner to follow you/stand still, as opposed to always having to switch characters to move them.

Chip's Challenge: Looking at the blurbs, I can't see any censorship, just a story change?

Is it the Win the cold heart bit?

• Bowdlerization: In the Lynx version, Chip only goes through the challenge because he wants to go out with Melinda to the prom (with the cover art blurb implying he's in it for the sex). In the Microsoft version, this is toned down to Chip being genuinely interested in joining the Bit Busters club and proving his worth to his peers. Chip's Challenge 2 sticks with the Lynx canon.

Can someone confirm this from DevelopersForesight.Pokemon (Go, specifically)?

• While most vulgar names for your character are rejected with the standard "this name contains inappropriate text" message, attempting to name your character any term for male genitalia will cause the game to display the message for an extremely short character name ("This is not long enough").

Why are there no citations on this site? It makes a lot of What Could Have Been entries seem dubious

I try to link to a source in every What Could Have Been entry I write; see Trivia.Eleutherophobia for an example.

There aren't no citations, it's just that most things don't require them.

x5 Pokémon GO is free to download.

I play it every day ever since it was first launched in 2016.

IDK if it's worth downloading a whole app just to test the name thing, but then again I don't enjoy Pokemon Go and it just ate my phone data so I'm biased.
