Not to mention Bruce himself acknowledges her control over her anger, due to, as Jen stated, having to do it more than him.

The point that Jen is making, that as a woman her anger is not as accepted (meaning: not in as many situations and treated more harshly) as a man's, even if that man is Bruce Banner, is still accurate and never refuted by the show.

If anything its supported by the one time that Jen does lose control of her anger, its owing to a situation that is explicitly a weapon used against women and something that would definitely not have been in Bruce's little how-to binder.

From the page for Velma:

  • There are a lot of things Velma is probably never gonna live down from viewers. Chief among them being:
    • Being convinced Fred is the murderer purely on the basis he's rich and white.
    • Reading Daphine's diary and exposing her mental health issues in front of the whole school in order to win a wrestling contest.
    • Faking a hallucination in order to manipulate Daphne.
    • Twerking in victory on top of the dead body of Fred's mother in front of Fred himself and not showing any concern for Norvile who's currently dealing with the fact he killed someone.
    • Locking her father, his girlfriend, and baby sister out of the house so she can be alone with her mother.

This seems like complaining without explaining how its exaggerating. Cut?

I also feel like NLID is supposed to be specific to one moment that stands above the others in the minds of fans, but these are just things that Velma has done fans dislike. They're not even exaggerated since this is just who Velma is as a character. Cut.

A new example, can’t add it though because I’m suspended

Hilda and the Mountain King

  • Never Live It Down: No matter how well-meaning and remorseful she was, fans will never forgive Trylla for essentially kidnapping Hilda by turning her into a troll against her will, and the physiological trauma her actions gave to both Hilda and Johanna

You shouldn't use this thread to get us to post examples for you.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

But I didn’t even want so. I wanted to ask if this is an example, because on reddit several fans hate Trylla for that

From the page for ''Super Smash Bros. Melee. Does it really count if they are indeed low tier?

  • Never Live It Down:
    • Mewtwo will always be remembered for being considered the worst character in Melee, as it was considered the worst on the very first tier list, and considered worst on the tier list at the time of Brawl's release (a tier list which also stood for two years). In actuality, Mewtwo hasn't been considered the worst character since 2008, with its position on the tier list having jumped quite a bit since then, and it is considered to be "merely" low tier instead of bottom tier at the time of this writing, while no one considers it anywhere near a candidate for worst character, with Kirby, Zelda and Bowser typically being in that area. Mewtwo continued to be derided for being one of the worst characters in the game in spite of this, however. Part of this is due to the discrepancy between its canon appearance and its Smash appearance; in the Pokémon games, it is considered to be among the most powerful Pokémon, even among legendaries. At the very least, Mewtwo has become a feared top-tier character in the fourth game, which makes it a lot closer to its canon appearance as an unstoppable force of nature.
    • Roy is in a similar camp, despite always having at least five characters below him on every tier list and even making mid-tier on some of them. This is because of his nature as a clone of Marth, who has been top-tier for the entirety of Melee's competitive history. Also like Mewtwo, his status as one of the worst isn't helped by his attacks being flashier than Marth's but having worse properties than them, which gave him a curiously determined following back in the day (one particular claim was "a skilled Roy can beat any Fox", which sparked many a sarcastic joke about how phenomenally deadly a skilled Roy might be).
    • Pichu stopped being a contender for the worst in the game, being ranked 22nd at highest in a tier list. However, Melee Pichu's image as an intentional joke character and former consideration as the worst character haunt it even to this day. It's often considered the worst character by many fans just because it's Pichu, despite its recoil damage not mattering that much (its best moves are not electric-based), and it having several advantages in speed and power that give it legitimate (albeit still weak) options to use in serious matches, unlike the truly terrible characters in the game such as Zelda and Bowser.

NeverLiveItDown.Web Original

  • Gravity Falls fans will probably never let WatchMojo.com live down their "Top 10 Hated Disney Animated Shows" list, in which Gravity Falls was included for the vague reasoning that it seemed to skew older than most Disney shows. They would rescind on this years later, opening the show's entry on their "Top 10 Cartoon Shows of the 2010s" list by asking viewers to pretend that previous judgement call never happened.
  • One of the reasons The Mysterious Mr. Enter is so divisive around the internet is for his early reviews, where he insulted the creators, constantly brought up My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic unprovoked, and got really loud at times. Even after expressing regret towards his earlier reviews and even redoing some of them, the internet still won't let him forget.
  • Women's wrestling website Diva Dirt:
    • Melanie, one of the original writers, for the first two years on the site couldn't live down her obvious dislike of Candice Michelle - which could get petty at times, lest you think this was Candice fans being sensitive. One especially petty moment was when she mocked Candice's short haircut, which happened when she donated her hair to Locks of Love. Not helping matters was Melanie's only defence being that it was her blog and she was entitled to her opinions. Once the site started getting noticed by female wrestlers, Melanie and co wisely reigned in more antagonistic writing styles.
    • Melanie's other fellow writer Erin for ages couldn't live down how often she got the names of moves wrong - when she was a wrestling journalist. She would frequently complain about Kelly Kelly doing "variations of a Frankensteiner" and even calling a victory roll a "reverse Frankensteiner" (two extremely different moves; the former is a pin, the latter is an impact move often used as a finisher).

Diva Dirt I believe is misuse because it's against real life persons violating NLID being NRLEP. Mr. Enter I believes is valid because it's against his persona as opposed to RL person but want to ask about the line regarding that. WatchMojo.com might be misuse because it's it's a work not a character being exaggerated, but given it's about the reviewers might it apply to them?

I believe they're all misuse. These are just things people did fans dislike, not minor actions that get flanderized or focused on by fans despite not being a normal way they act. And I do think they all violate the "no character" role (how much of Enter's stuff is actually a character bit anyway? Knowing how the guy actually is...)

Enter doesn't have that much of a persona. In fact, the problem with his earlier reviews was the fact he was genuinely letting himself be angry due to some personal triggers, as opposed to Nostalgia Critic where it's an exaggerated bit. I also don't think it's enough of a "boil it down to one thing and exaggerate it" since it's multiple incidents.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

With regards to Enter, the reason people bring up him insulting creators is because his fans would then go on to harass those writers on social media. So that's not really something relating to Enter's persona (if he even has one), but a real life controversy involving his fanbase.

YMMV.Aliens Colonial Marines

  • Never Live It Down:
    • People were using the Never Trust a Trailer mentality that this game brought about for the game's pseudo-sequel, Alien: Isolation - even though Isolation actually has a playable demo and was made by a different studio. Likewise, criticism of Gearbox exploded after this game's release. Recall that ACM has worse reviews than Duke Nukem Forever.
    • In addition, the scandal around ACM would forever tarnish Gearbox and Randy Pitchford's reputations, which most certainly played a part in the poor performance of their next major game, Battleborn.
    • As if the game's reputation wasn't bad enough as is, it got even worse when it was discovered that a 1-letter spelling error wrecked the game's AI - suffice to say Gearbox won't be hearing the end of this anytime soon.

These are all RL examples. Time to throw these in the trash compactor. Bonus points for natter.

Unrelated, but I should get around to writing that Critical Backlash entry at some point.

[up][up][up] I’d say Mr enter counts just needs to be reworded. Despite disavowing the majority of his older videos he still tends to be seen as the guy who attacks writers and say they should be blacklisted

[up]The example admits that this controversy is fading into the past, and I haven't really seen the “Turning Red 9/11” jokes and mockery for at least a year. It could probably fit under Memetic Mutation, because it seems like everyone involved wants to move on from that bad take.

It's too soon for a NLID entry and belongs under Overshadowed by Controversy, where it already is (because even people who never cared about Enter before or after that review think of him as the Turning Red 9/11 guy).

Enter can't be added because it's NRLEP. That's why it's relevant whether or not he's a character.

That game already has an entry on its YMMV page. So the NLID entry was redundant on top of being just complaining.
