Looks just like a list of funny quotes.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupEsElyuTeh: Has been going out of his way to remove all labelnote formatting from a page despite being a new troper. Any good reason to do that?
TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanup...meh? Is it a rule that it must use that specific formatting?
I'd like to apologize for all this.If you believe the top of every Memetic Mutation page... kinda.

It's kinda controversial, from what I've heard. A lot of people think it's fine, but a lot of others want it to use the same formatting as every other page.
I mean, like with the indentation issue I'm totally down to do that but at the moment the current rule does appear to be enforcing the inconsistent handling. This is a wiki talk issue.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessVery well.
Can I get an answer for this since it got pagetopped?
I'd like to apologize for all this.Without knowing further these sounds like the same joke
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupFound this on YMMV.The Legend Of Heroes Kuro No Kiseki
- Memetic Loser: Prior to the release of the first Kuro game, Elaine received ridicule among some fans, whether it be because they thought she was destined to "lose the 'Van Bowl'"Explanation or because she was almost completely overshadowed by Shizuna in the fanart department.note Not so much post-release, however, as barring a few scenes,ENDGAME SPOILER she's more or less turned the tables; as of the 2nd popularity poll, she is now the most popular female character, note , and the game itself shows that Van has more romantic tension with her than any of the other girls.
Do we list tropes like this if they are no longer applicable? Because the end shows that she did grow out of this.
She/Her | Currently cleaning N/AYMMV.Sonic The Hedgehog 4 has most of the Memetic Mutation entries lacking explanations and basically are ZCE.
- Memetic Mutation:
- A common photoshop deduced the shaded picture for the first teaser to be Pikachu wearing a sombrero◊.
- "Sonic 4 as you truly imagined it!"
- Many refer to Episode I music as having "dying cats", due to the odd synth instruments being used.
- The "Green Eyes" meme, created after an infamous rant made by a YouTuber following the first official trailer of Episode I.
- Castlevania Zone.
- WHITE CASTLE! SYLVANIA PARK!
- The intro of Oil Desert Zone Act 2 has been jokingly referred to as "dying ducks."
Found this Memetic Loser entry on the YMMV Mortal Kombat 1 page:
- Kotal continues this trend too. His sole mention in the game's story mode is a line where he lost to Raiden offscreen.
I had previously removed this entry as, while he may have been a Memetic Loser in the previous game, not only was Kotal not the only character Raiden defeated offscreen (two other characters, Sheeva and Motaro, were also listed among those that Raiden had defeated offscreen and even then it’s stated that Raiden had also defeated many others besides them, those three were just the only ones to get name-dropped) but the fan base itself has not singled out Kotal’s loss specifically, in fact this moment has barely been talked about by the fan base at all thus far.
However I saw that someone has recently re-added the entry without an edit reason. As the person who removed it initially, I obviously think that the entry should be removed again for the reasons that I’ve described, especially since no reason was given for adding it back.
Looks like they're trying to start an edit war.
MB Pending | MB Drafts | MB DatesSo you agree that it should be removed?
Bringing this over from ATT.
This is a Memetic Mutation example from YMMV.Starfield - does it look like a valid example of the trope?
And is it really an example for Starfield, or would it go against HeelsvsBabyface, as suggested on the ATT?
Thanks!
It doesn't actually explain how it's used as a meme, so it's hard to say.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. Will reiterate what I said in the ATT: the "meme" that I would see people be laughing about isn't even really about Starfield, it's about an unrelated critic being angry about pronouns in a way that people find funny, with Starfield being a totally incidental element to it. Inversely, Starfield isn't about HeelsvsBabyface, so what he has to say about it isn't relevant, and feels like it's breaching ROCEJ (basically put up to go "look at this anti-woke idiot, let's laugh at him").
Thanks for playing King's Quest V!I'd consider it a meme, but it's a HeelvsBabyface meme, not a Starfield meme.
It could literally be any other other game that has pronoun options (a lot of games btw) and he'd probably still react the same way. I'd say remove it.

Thank you - cut from the Starfield page as per feedback.
i wanted to get the OK before changing this, but i propose this edit on Memes.Anime And Manga to the "its a trap" example:
- Funny thing is that it already overlapped with the whole Trap Card meme, so, you'll usually see photoshopped cards of Bridget and Jun, among other lesser known traps.
in a perfect world I'd chop the whole "trap" example tree with prejudice (the entire page reeks of old TV Tropes tbh) but since its (unfortunately) an established meme i tried making it sound less... weird, what do yall think:
- This eventually overlapped with the "trap card" meme, where popular crossdressing characters were photoshopped and edited onto these cards.
Even putting aside the transphobia factor, the edit is just simply more descriptive and concise so I'm for it.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.while i'm still on that accursed example tree, is the triple trope pothole in the Admiral Ackbar quote really necessary? imo i'm pretty sure just one of those tropes is enough to illustrate the context of that meme. also it just looks ugly in edit mode

Most Memes.Regular Show entries lack the "explanation" part
