This is a thread to discuss those Administrivia pages in need of a little updating- you know the ones. The ones that still cite rules we've long since changed, or the ones that don't properly cite our current standards. Some of them are even scattered in Main/!
So, this is the place to take those pages and fix them up with the help of the community.
For a list of current projects, see Outdated Administrivia Pages.
Note: This thread is not for asking mods to make one-off edits to Locked Pages, Administrivia-related or otherwise, such as requesting additions to an Example Sectionectomy index. Please use this thread for that.

That's probably since a decent number of rules arguments on this site are of the "Eddie or Fighteer said such-and-such in a random forum post once" variety.
What would you suggest for some of these alternate titles? Redirects are free.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Well, when I tripped up over List of Shows That Need Summary, my instinctual first effort was Administrivia.Works Needing Summary.
What To Put At The Top Of The Page always trips me too- something like Administrivia. What Goes On The Top Of The Page, while still wordy, is much less clunky.
I can't remember the other ones that keep tripping me up right now unfortunately, but when I do, I'll be back.

Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessFor List of Shows That Need Summary, Works Needing Pages, obviously. Other than that, I don't think I had problems.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)As for people spamming Works' Pages Are a Free Launch, I don't really see a way to stop that besides maybe renaming it to something less catch-phrasey (probably not the right term). I don't know if that will do anything though.
Macron's notesPerhaps cutting it would do? The page is a leftover from the time where TLP nee YKTTW were optional for both works and tropes and we needed to differentiate between the latter two. Given that now the software does that distinction perhaps it's no longer needed?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanMaybe? Yeah, admittedly the only real use it has is telling people "you don't need permission to make work pages".
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI'm not sure cutting it will do anything, since links show up as blue in TLP comments even if they're supposed to be red. People might not even notice that it was cut.
No sense in cutting it; it still serves a theoretical purpose.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool. This line was discovered on Tropes Are Tools
Judging from the page history, it's been there since at least 2010, aka old TVT.
Since it describes a behavior that is no longer in line with policy, any objection to zapping that line?
No objection. It doesn't fit with the tone we're trying to achieve on this site.
Rock'n'roll never dies!Zap it. That page is locked, so a mod needs to remove it.
Keet cleanupWith the removal of that line, there's probably gonna be very slightly less motivation to bash works.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread! If you mean Tropes Are Tools, it actually isn't locked.
Anyway, I don't understand what that is doing on Tropes Are Tools of all pages. "Tropes Are Not Bad... actually, no they are." Plus, Snark Bait was recently made Flame Bait due to a combination of it being used as a non-Darth So Bad, It's Horrible and less negative forms of snark being covered by So Bad, It's Good.
Edit: I removed that part of Tropes Are Tools myself, and noted in the Locked Pages thread that the page isn't locked.
Edit: A different post in the locked pages thread asked for Creator Bashing to be moved to Administrivia/. Was that discussed here? I accidentally closed my tab for this thread, so I absentmindedly ended up missing some of the stuff in this thread while refreshing the tabs for threads I follow. (I'm aware of the thread-following feature; I just prefer to keep tabs open and refresh them from time to time for the sake of, well, keeping tabs on threads I frequent.)

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. Thanks to the current discussion on Edit Banned, I realized that Up for Grabs could use some updating- mostly to note that a draft being UFG doesn't mean you can't rogue launch it- it means it's in need of a sponsor who will care for it and launch it when it's ready.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessNo, can't was correct.
People are under the impression that if a draft is UFG, you can launch it. To them it's not a "rogue launch" since there's no sponsor.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessDouble negative there. "a draft being UFG doesn't mean you can't rogue launch it" = "a draft being UFG means you can rogue launch it"
But yes, the page could use updating to make clear the rules about rogue launching.
No, I said "can't" because people don't even realize rogue-launching rules apply to UFG drafts. That's why I used the wording I did- because people don't think "I'm allowed to rogue launch", they think "It's not a rogue launch".
But yes. We need to update it.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAhh, I see. You used "can" in the sense of "able to", I read it in the sense of "allowed to".
Yeah, that's it.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWell, clearly we'd better not use that particular phrasing
Something more like "Up for Grabs does not mean free to launch".

Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.
I'd second that point. The Administrivia pages are actually quite important, and way too easy to miss. I've seen rules arguments where people didn't actually link the rules they were arguing about, and easier access wouldn't hurt.
