Roleplay Namespace Cleanup and Maintenance

Go Tabs! On my end, I went through Characters.We Are Our Adventuring Avatars, Characters.We Are Our Avatars Escapist, and Characters.Weeping Willows Spirithand and gave them all a good clean-up.

We all got stuff we did in the past that we regret. I know there's a couple of RP work pages out there that I edited a good seven or so years ago, and I'm gonna have to get back to them sometime soon. @-@

I'm just glad I never put any of my RPs on this site. I would've if I knew I could've, back then.

Big batch coming tonight to make up for lost time.

Oh trust me, making pages incorrectly is the least of my worries. ._.; But that was back then. I'm much better about it now.

Anyway, I'm not sure the rules on the alignment tropes. I mean, sometimes they are relevant to a character, but I forgot how they worked page-wise.

Alignment tropes have been forbidden due to The Great Character Alignment Debate. They're Flame Bait because they can cause controversy.

Ah. Well, despite the relevance to the character(as it's in-universe), that'll have to go then. I can still easily mention her characterization without linking it or directly even writing it out, though. I'll look into it in a bit. I'm a bit tired right now.

...Oh. I just read the page you linked. I just need to re-write it. She's canonically Lawful Good, and it's in-universe too. Right now it's poorly written without context. I forgot how to do the In-Universe tags too. It also doesn't help I don't remember the context exactly, so I'll need to double check that. It might be only something to put in the character description instead of the trope list.

Wait, it says that canon alignment can be kept. You may just have to say "In-Universe".

Ah, OK. I dismissed them as out-of-universe and therefore a no-no. Of course In-Universe use can stay.

There must be a trope for "the one possession they have left from old times", but I can't think of it. Security Blanket conjures a different picture. The image of Shadow cuddling a gun was amusing, but I figured that really isn't what the roleplayer had in mind.

I'm the same Irene/Hydronix in question. That's actually what I had in mind. But yeah, that's a ZCE and has to be fleshed out anyway.

Though again, tired. Feel free to fix up any small bits and I can flesh it out properly later. It was a huge rp, which is the only reason some characters are shown without information on them(yet). I don't think that's kosher though(though commenting them out is probably a good idea instead?).

• Cloud Coliseum: Danganronpa. Did the old "moved examples over" thing.
• Coalition Of Ponyist States: Had to go link-finding, but luckily, it was easy. Needed a ZCE cleanup. Character's page given usual treatment.
• Code Geass Blood Stained Alternatives: Needed basic cleanup.
• Come Winter's Light: More link-finding. Needed a lot of ZCE cleanup, but there are enough good tropes to keep. YMMV cutlisted as a stub.
• Comicfury Crossover RP: Website seems down. Page itself is small but keepable.
• Comic Fury Werewolf: Long page that needed cleanup. It's a page that tropes an entire collection of Werewolf and Mafia games held on the site. Character's page has no tropes on it, so I'll cutlist. YMMV page also needed cleanup.
• Communication: Big ol' page needing cleaning. Page has so many spoilers I'm considering making it spoilers-off; what do ya'll think?

I've seen worse. The page has had recent editing activity earlier this month, so maybe invite them to give the spoiler tags a-fixing? Little reminder of the spoiler tagging rules and all that.

Maybe later. Cleaning that page exhausted me, so I may need to go back in and make sure I fixed everything I wanted to fix.

I searched for the Comicfury Crossover RP on the Wayback Machine; main board page shows up, but there's only a page or two of the actual RP's available.

Oh, didn't see you mention cutlisting the page, actually. I'll have to rework some bits of mine first. And Sandbox it. Duly noted. Thank you.

Hello! I would like to discuss what's been cleaned up on the Communication page and why.

Hey, there. So you said some of what I removed may not have been necessary removals? Which examples are you referring to?

I'll admit to having gotten tired and disinterested in the cleanup process, so it's very possible I did get sloppy and delete things I shouldn't have.

First: Five-Man Band. Why did you delete that?

Ah, that was more related to my effort as a member of the cleanup for that trope. See, as of now, there's no consensus on whether it's okay for a Five Man Band to have more than two girls. Since no agreement has been reached on that, I deleted the example as misuse. We also don't consider The Sixth Ranger and others to be part of the band, which also contributed to the misuse aspect, but honestly the gender-ratio was my main concern. As of now, the trope only allows for two girls, which I personally disagree with, but on principal I have to chop misuse when I find it.

For reference, here is a link to a page on that thread where the gender ratio issue was mentioned.

...That sounds kinda sexist to be honest. I thought it'd be five people.

Alright, so it HAD to be boys and girls in a group in order for it to count as this trope?

Five-Man Band isn't simply a "group". It's a group of 5 specific tropes instead. Many can easily be 5 members, but they don't fit by that alone. They must be the Leader, the Lancer, the Big Guy, the Smart Guy, and the Chick.

I didn't see the discussion about the female bit, so I don't know why that is what it is. But there's no questioning that it has to be these exact 5 tropes. If it isn't, it's not an example of Five-Man Band. It's just a group of 5.

Hey, don't blame me. Like I said, I also think the gender restriction is silly, but the current limit was decided by Fast Eddie, and there's been no proper consensus to widen it yet. I wasn't part of the deciding group for it, I'm just trying to follow the rules currently set by the trope. If you want to debate for expanding it, please go to that cleanup thread, since there's a lot of opinions on the subject.

As for the roles, yes, only the five people in the band count for the trope. The more members added, the more likely it is that people are being shoe-horned.

I'm all for looking at the trope rules, as it does seem restricting. I feel that The Chick and The Heart would be fair to be interchangeable. It was Admin fiat, and he's no longer the Admin. It might be worth looking at the discussion to see if it's just an outdated thing that may be better to redo.

Anyway, that's my only bit to say on this.
