Does Not Illustrate (runoff crowner 4/27/19): Long Runners

Current illustrates The Other Darrin / Long-Runner Cast Turnover. Here's a take on the current that better illustrates the concept:

Quick question though: Does it really count as a Long Runner if reboots are involved? In both the current and my suggestion, only two are in the same continuity. One of them's not even in the same medium. Plus, there are several years-long gaps between these installments.

If this is an issue, we could just use the DVD cover of a Long Runner:

"XV" isn't quite accurate...

1.2 works best. Elegant and gets the essence of the trope.

1.2 is okay, but a DVD for the tenth season is a bit modest, as 10 years is the minimum requirement for something to be considered a long-runner.

How about a similar pic from one of Simpsons' later seasons, such as this?

These from Kamen Rider. 45 years is impressive and the sheer number of characters might give it scale.

1.2 is still my favourite. Other suggestions are too cluttered.

The Simpsons are overused for page images; this one is not bad, but I simply like the SG one better — the number of the season is more prominent, and I like the format and size of it better as well.

[up] 12.2 has a watermark, no?

I would prefer something that's been running longer than 11 years. Is Doctor Who off the table as well for having a changing cast?

The exact number of seasons is not important. It's not a contest.

10 years is pretty solid for a long runner. 10 or 11 is not that relevant, methinks. :-)

I think Doctor Who is an example; changing cast does not disqualify it.

Doctor Who, season 11

Not bad, but I still prefer 1.2.
