The worst Isekai anime.
It's not SAO.
The premise sounds like that borderline hentai called Himekishi ga Classmate, but the execution seems to be even worse somehow… Didn't think that was possible.
Actually, it's been a while since Geoff last trashed a terrible anime, hasn't it?

The bit about the two twins and the child slavegirl is just.... ewww O_O
WTF.
As someone whose borderline hobby is reading terrible isekai(by checking out first few chapters of new isekai manga whenever they pop up) to see if things can indeed be even lower, I can comment that is way too common thing

I follow a blog that lists detailed information for every anime that comes out every season........... and I STILL... NEVER... heard of this isekai anime! :O I suppose it's a testament to how bad it is.
What in the actual fuck.
And to think there are people who actually enjoy this garbage.
It doesn't even look entertaining enough to qualify as a guilty pleasure, it just looks terrible.
I couldn't even tell its based off Norse Mythology for God's sake.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."People whom enjoy this are maximum neckbeards that are on the FBI watchlist.
Like this is way beyond what should be considered acceptable anywhere. I don't know how this youtuber could stand watching this long enough to burn it.
That show doesn't really do anything particularly unusual for isekai power fantasies (if anything it's somewhat restrained by not giving the MC any superpowers), it's just an especially bland execution of tropes standard to the genre. And, no, it's not actually popular in any way
I was kinda surprised to see him use Knights And Magic as a reference point for shitty isekai, since I found it pretty enjoyable, if dumb, once it got past the rushed beginning. Particularly with that godawful Death March anime not long ago
I wouldn’t say that.
It’s just a bad show. Generalizing people that enjoy it doesn’t really make the show itself any better or worse.
Watch SymphogearI don't think So Bad, It's Good applies here but I admittedly have never gotten that trope to begin with.
Oh, Christ... (*queues The Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter" and does his best "Old Soldier" impression*)
Yes, I effing know it's satire, but part of me still hates that video for triggering my PTSD from actually paticipating in past Waifu Wars—which in hindsight turned out to be more pointless than The Vietnam War.**
Five fucking years I've "fought" for various waifus—seeing some waifus I like winning and seeing others that I've grown attached to become casualties instead. And certain characters from anime series that I would have otherwise loved became nothing more than personal hate sinks that I'd happily kill with fire—justified or not.
That being said, the vid did redeem itself for praising Nendoroids note , as well as the subtle "take thats" to Kirino, Asuna, Sagiri, and little sister fetishists. Also, I feel like bringing an actual small bag of salt to the next anime convention I attend. Or at least print pictures of certain characters to paste on "shit waifu" trash cans.
(*"Old Soldier" impression off*)
(** - No offense intended to actual Vietnam vets. o7 I just finished watching PBS's The Vietnam War on Netflix, and... Damn. Just Damn. Also, that era had awesome music.)
EDIT: Turns out there's a trope page for the series.

"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."Is this a new copypasta?
Nah, just a reply to / laying my thoughts on that particular video as a "Waifu War veteran."
Also, RE: that worst isekai anime: And I thought In Another World With My Smartphone was already lowbrow (if a bit of a Guilty Pleasure). That other series set the bar even lower.

"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."I watched the first episode the other day with a friend. Yeah, we pretty much agreed that it was terrible. It's vapid wish fulfilment shlock with a constant parade of "pretty" girls expressing just how much they want to jump this one asshole's dick. And that is the first episode. Normally, a show at least makes a token effort to introduce the harem girls as characters in their own rights, but here they were all like "please fuck me, master" from the very first moment we see them.
It is an assault on the very concept of good taste, and I hate it.

What are your thoughts on Geoff's stance on High Guardian Spice? Is it off topic?

I mean, he's ignoring that Crunchyroll has its priorities completely backwards, putting money into making original series would be less objectionable (no matter what they were) if the actual website was functional.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"If Crunchyroll ever got any serious competition (and no, Netflix having a handful of anime shows is not serious competition) they'd either improve their streaming service to be actually watchable or they'd get absolutely steamrolled.
Monopolies encourage laziness, and that's exactly what Crunchyroll is. Their only actual competition is pirate sites, which means the people who are getting the most screwed are those who for moral reasons don't pirate anime.

"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"I've tried multiple times to watch stuff legally on Crunchyroll, but site is such a badly designed crapshoot that I end up falling out everytime.
Geoff is ignoring that this debate is a bit more nuanced than just piracy is bad.
Does Wakanim do stuff in English? Because they have two features that seem to be sorely lacking on CR − a download button and the choice between subscribing or paying for individual series (which is what I did for SG0 and AOT S3).
Hate Crunchyroll's Flash player. And I hate MB for ousting them in connection with a promising-looking original cartoon.
I think most people would love to watch anime through legitimate channels but when piracy offers a better quality experience than official channels it's hard to ignore the temptation
You're going to pay a price for every bloody thing you do and everything you don't do. You don't get to choose to not pay a price.FYI Crunchyroll has announced it's switching to a HTML 5 player September 28th.
.... you can tell they would NEVER have announced this had 1. Digibro and MB never raised a s*** over it publicly online the day before, or 2. Adobe never gotten rid of Flash Players on all browsers by 2020.
My personal favorite video of his is his isekai survival guide:
