Any interesting Seldom-Seen Species you know about?

Look at the spiny orb-weaver spider. I've seen some in real life before, but I never knew what they were called until now.

No "Bowser's Fury" questions please. I haven't played it yet.

The fossa is probably one of my favorite obscure animals, partly because it's an excellent showcase of convergent evolution and partly because it looks like a cat and dachshund ended up in a G-rated teleporter accident.

The kakapo is a flightless parrot from New Zealand, and it's adorable. Unfortunately they're also extremely endangered, but there are captive breeding programs going, and apparently they've been quite successful this year.

[up][up] The related blue glaucus is quite a beautiful little creature.

Also, the awesomely prehistoric-looking hoatzin.

More people need to know about the Australian Giant Burrowing Cockroach. I love hissing cockroaches, and these guys remind me of them.

Greenland Shark. Because, uniquely among animals, it lives for centuries, thanks to the freezing arctic waters slowing down its metabolism.

Anoa. I think only Indonesians will know. They're basically mini bulls. Also: - Wolverines actually exist. - Vaquitas, probably. It's kind of sad to see this species only having around 19 specimens left.

Trichoplax. They’re little blobs, like amoebae but hairy, and animals!

Cambrian animals sure are weird, am I right?
