Yes, Lance gets together with Allura in this show.
Okay suggested tweak:
- Keith and Lance in Voltron: Legendary Defender is far more popular than the canon Lance/Allura. Something like half of all Voltron fics on AO3 are these two getting together. Its only real competition is Shiro and Keith (which, though just as non-canon, also outstrips all other pairings by a pretty wide margin). They've had varying levels of Ho Yay throughout the show, but that's about it. This even earned the fandom a somewhat cold reception when Klance outtrended fellow red-and-blue gay pairing Rupphire on Tumblr, on the week that the latter pairing got married. This was emphasized in later seasons with the lion switch, where Keith becomes the leader and Lance becomes his right hand man. There is also preference from the fans due to the writers noting that they had influence from Macross, an anime with a famous Love Triangle. As of the end of the series, though, it's still non-canon.
Doesn't Shiro also have one? Would Shiro/Keith be worth it's own entry?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadProbably. I posted a cleaner version on the YMMV page itself:
- Fan-Preferred Couple: In Eastern fandoms the most popular ship is Shiro/Keith, despite Shiro being ultimately paired with Curtis, whereas in the West, due to heavy Ship-to-Ship Combat, the most popular pairing is Keith/Lance which overshadows Allura/Lance.
Hmm. I like that version. Do we want to use that version?
Anymore opinions on my Draco/Hermione entry:
- Draco/Hermione is the most popular pairing involving Hermione within the fandom and the second most popular involving Draco (after him with Harry). Despite the canon Hermione/Ron still being very popular in the fandom as well and Draco/Hermione being controversial within the fandom, Draco/Hermione outranks Hermione/Ron on almost every site. This is often attributed to Hermione's actress in the films, Emma Watson, admitting several times that she had a crush on Draco's actor, Tom Felton, and fangirls wanting to live through Hermione being with the Trope Namer for Draco in Leather Pants.
Okay this was added to FanPreferredCouple.Western Animation:
- When the sequel comics came out, Zuki (the pairing of Zuko and Suki) became popular as the two were closely together with Suki as his bodyguard, while Sokka wasn't getting a lot of screentime with her. However, it seems to have died down as soon as Sokka and Suki were reunited.
Yeah no this is not anywhere close to being as popular as Sokka/Suki or Zuko/Sokka or even multiple other Zuko ships even the canon one with Mai. The comics are obscure and as such their fanbase was never that big even back then. I am leaning towards cutting.
The troper also removed the creator preferred pairing entries from the Zuko/Katara and Sokka/Zuko ones.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadYeah, that's one for the scrapping.
As for the Voltron one, my friend and I didn't finish the show yet, but I totally believe the Lance and Keith pairing is popular though.

Anymore opinions on the above?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI honestly don't mind their trimming the Zutara one (there's a lot of people stretching rumors and vague statements to "prove" that Zutara was actually intentional). Saying that Zukox Sokka is still less popular than Zutara should be put back in though. And I agree that Zukox Suki is less popular than other ships for those characters.
Yeah in the case of Zutara I feel a lot of the entry tried to stretch things. My slight tweak suggestion:
- Zutara (the pairing of Zuko and Katara) is one of the, if not the, most popular fan pairing and arguably more popular than Official Couple, Aang/Katara. It's fanbase is such that the pairing was even referenced in the episode "Ember Island Players" and the non-canonical "School Time Shipping" short, as well as the satirical "Avatar Book 4" video shown at Comic-Con 2008 (though the former was done in a tongue-in-cheek manner, and the latter was outright mockery).
- Following the resurgence the series has experienced thanks to being broadcast on Netflix, Sokka/Zuko has become extremely popular. It is far more popular than the canon Sokka/Suki, though still less Zuko/Katara.
Thoughts?

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadHi, there, I'm the one who made the ATLA edit. The main reason I trimmed the Zutara section is because the tone didn't feel very neutral to me. As for the Zuki entry, that's whatever; if it doesn't fit the standard for being included (whatever that is) then I don't mind if it's removed.

Find Light in the beautiful Sea. I choose to be Happy. You and I, You and I, we're Beautiful like Diamonds in the Sky.Oh I get the rewrite of Zutara. That entry was a mess. My thing was the removal of the mentioned creator preferred couples which an entry needs to mention.
Also removed the Zuko/Suki entry.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI’d probably say change "one of the, if not the, most" to "one of, if not the most" and we're probably good.
I'm realizing how ahead of its time Legend of Korra was with how movies like Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Scream 5 are similar in structure. The Sequel Trilogy fits that too I suppose.
I just had to remove this from Moon Knight (2022):
- Fan-Preferred Couple: While Marc and Steven are canonically both in love with Marc's wife Layla, the most popular pairing for the show is Marc and Steven with each other, due to their bond being the show's primary emotional focus and because Steven functions at times like The Not-Love Interest to Marc.
Now this is a great entry but sadly Fan-Preferred Couple is now on No Recent Examples, Please! and this can be added back 1 month from this previous Wednesday.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadWell, no. It means an assessment can be made as to whether FPC is in play after one month has passed, not just re-adding the trope back based on fan behaviour from one month prior.
In this case, I have no doubt that the fan reaction will last, but it's worth flagging why the wait period exists.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Yeah. I meant we discuss it once the waiting period is up. Not just adding it back willy neelly. There is a reason the time limit was added.
It might be worth adding a commented out note for new releases like we do with Broken Base.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThat's probably a good idea.

I added the Draaco/Hermione one. Again, for Voltron, do we want to add this rewrite:
- Keith and Lance in Voltron: Legendary Defender is far more popular than the canon Lance/Allura. Something like half of all Voltron fics on AO3 are these two getting together. Or just make a new one for Shiro and Keith as the might not be worth listing together.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadFirst entry is good. If you want to trim it down and put up that second one—if it's fitting—by all means, go ahead.
From Ed, Edd n Eddy:
- Fan-Preferred Couple:
- While the Kevin/Edd pairing always had a fanbase, in Spring 2013, it became extremely popular.
- With the above KevEdd craze Nazz/Marie slowly becomes this.
- Edd/Eddy and Edd/Marie used to be the most popular ships, but lost popularity in favour of Kevedd. They still have their fans though, especially Edd/Eddy, as many Edd fans ship him with both Eddy and Kevin.
- A good amount of people, particularly the ones who prefer May Kanker over her sister Marie, seem to love Edd/May (noticing the pattern?), due to their Ship Tease in the Valentines' Day special.
Umm maybe I am misremembering but where is the creator preferred one. Certianly the entries aren't suggesting that the Kanker Sisters aka the stalkers count as Edd's creator preferred one.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadQuestion: Does Kevin and Nazz count as creator-preferred? Or are they specifically made to be an unhealthy couple? I don't remember much about the two's relationship in the main show but I remember their argument over Kevin caring more about his bike in Big Picture Show, so I'm guessing its the latter.
I’m gonna put some Gloom in your eye.I wouldn't count it a creator preferred. It is made clear that Kevin is more into his bike. Its hard to say the creators preferred him/Nazz in that case.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadNot sure what I can say. I never saw the show really.
Honestly, all of them seem safe to cut, since there are no creator preferred couples from what I recall.
Also the next comment will mark the thread's 100 page-iversary.
I’m gonna put some Gloom in your eye.
From Western Animation:
Does this this have canon competition as this doesn't mention?
