My bad, I didn't anticipate how many tropers would consider it better with that image than imageless.
I'll get around to finding a few alternatives later on tonight, and maybe more tomorrow, but for the next few hours I'm about to be too busy to do so. But I still think we can do better that something that relies on calling it "dumb" to be skeptical of the motives of those who put the signs there.
I know subtitles aren't great, but here is a sequence from the old Geico "Horror Movie Characters" ad.

9 is not an example. They train (or drug) those crocodiles specifically so they can put on that kind of show. It's no more valid than a lion tamer performing a circus act that he knows he can pull off. Maybe Nerves of Steel, but an idiot? Not really.
12 doesn't work either for being too elaborate and doing little in the way of showing rather than telling.

Busier than I expected last night, so I'll post the non-video-game examples with which I am familiar this evening.
I also have a few video game examples in mind, but before I seek them out, I'd like to know whether they have to be cutscene examples, or whether or not NPC in-game examples (or even player character examples) also count.
EDIT: Forgot to pothole them. Fixing that. Also, some of the subpages have page images. Would any of those images make a better page image than what's currently on the main page?
EDIT again: There's also some room for overlap with the Didn't Think This Through
thread; especially in terms of using whichever Wile E Coyote examples aren't picked for that article.

The first one looks to be a better fit for either Bullying a Dragon or Mugging the Monster, can't remember which one is correct.

Bullying a Dragon is when you know the target is dangerous, while Mugging the Monster is when you don't. So it's Bullying a Dragon.

I can't tell what's going on in a good number of the suggestions in 15, or if I do know it's usually because I'm already familiar with the work in question. Some, like the Sergant Hartman pic, are unnecessarily spoilery.
15.3 is also closer to Look Both Ways.
Not sure what to think of the Barney pic either way; would it count for this trope if Death Is Cheap or never happens because Status Quo Is God or Cartoon Physics? EDIT: Though it might make for a hilarious illustration on Must Have Nicotine.

As far as I'm aware, the character only has to engage in life-endangering stupidity; it doesn't have to kill the character.
In any case, what of video games? Is it just cutscene examples that count, or in-game as well? If in-game, does it have to be a non-playable character, or do ones featuring playable characters count too.
Somebody get this freaking duck away from me!

I honestly still prefer the current. It's a single image. I don't see the point of picking soemthing that requires 2 to 3 images to illustrate when one currently does job, and all the suggestions on 15 are multiple images.

Without context, there is no way to know whether she thinks whoever put those signs there is lying... not just about whether or not a given route really does lead to death, but whether or not the other one really does lead to safety anyway.
I'm not yet sure what would constitute a suitable alternative, but I'd rather it be imageless than have this.
