Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules (in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

I could have sworn there was a big clean up regarding that page a while back too.

"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min Kimbut yeah this is a wiki, if the page for the nazi book is too gushy you can edit it to be less gushy and more correct
literally anyone can tbh but we're busy right now ourself so <.<
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. That can mostly be attributed to one troper who refused to see the series as other than a sci-fi story, even refusing to compare it to Turner Diaries. If you look at the reviews you can see them arguing with people over how bad the book is and how evil the protagonists were.
That troper pimped out the page with a lot of unnecessary tropes and was in general very defensive over it.

Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI mean, that kind of sounds like grounds for suspension.
"Hope for our world, tragedy for another."Which troper was it why have they not been reported on Ask The Tropers?
New theme music also a boxI'm pretty sure they actually were suspended over it at some point. I don't remember the exact details. It was a while ago.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI feel like the troper was banned. A long time ago, even. Just the cleanup has stalled.
SoundCloudIdumean Patriot, it looks like? That name certainly sounds vaguely familiar, anyway. They did in fact get suspended over this. While the suspension was lifted, they haven't actually edited anything since then.

- For all the bad things with Victoria it's not a neo-Nazi book. I'm not defending Victoria here, just pointing out what kind of bad author tract it is. The Turner Diaries is way worse than Victoria. Waaaaaaaay worse. As in, "Turner Diaries depicts nuclear holocaust and globe-spanning genocide as a good thing" worse — Victoria says shitty things but it's nowhere near that misanthropic. I'd rather not cheapen the word "Nazi".
- I really don't think our page for Victoria is idolizing it. I mean, I've read the trope page. It's pretty blunt in making fun of Victoria. They point out a lot of the Artistic Licence – Military, Artistic License – History, Artistic License – Religion, et cetera used by the book. It also points out the Dehumanization used by the heroes in calling ethnic criminals "orcs". You can even see the tropers trying to loop around calling the Victorians the bad guys in the Evil Mentor, Evil Luddite, & Evil Reactionary points. The page for Victoria is far from "overly fawning" over the book.
The page for YMMV.Victoria is even more blunt in making fun of Victoria. The topers over on that page aren't shying away from condemning Lind and his views. On the contrary they're pretty open about mocking and condemning him.
"Man Victoria is the coolest book ever where a based and redpilled chad murders all the transes and jews and feminists and then they all live happily ever after" literally isn't something that our page for Victoria is saying. Have you seen the page lately? I don't think anyone is gushing over Victoria over there, at least not anymore. Are we reading the same page at Literature.Victoria or no?
~walker45 Apologies for the ping but someone brought up that the Victoria page isn't as gushy as it was in the past apparently. Might be worth the read.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Alright, I'm going cleaning then. I got finals tonight and work tomorrow but when I have a couple hours every mention of Victoria is getting expunged except its actual page
Still in the Navy. Probably will be for lifeThe page on Seventh Seal is shorter than the page on this filth. What the fuck is wrong with this site?
Still in the Navy. Probably will be for lifewalker45 plz chill out
New theme music also a boxDude, it's like white nationalist "Hey lets kill our fellow americans" fanfic and for some reason that's like okay? How am I supposed to chill out lol
I mean hey, on closer inspection it looks like a lot of the entries on the page are ripping into the book but still- it does not deserve this much attention. Mention the book, talk about why it's bad, then move on
Still in the Navy. Probably will be for lifeBeing chill isn't a suggestion, it's mandatory. This Is a Wiki, if one page is longer than the other is just means someone have added more to it.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupBy removing mentions of Victoria outside its page, do you mean removing wicks? Unless the examples were misuse or they were examples of tropes that got disambiguated/no longer exist, I don’t think that's allowed.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."It's not.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure Purenessx4 Might want to check out Crosswicking. If a work has a page, and that page has accurate examples, it's a rule that the examples must also be on the corresponding trope pages. The wiki is actually "Tropes First," IE the trope pages are the core examples.
This does not mean that I like, support, or even have an opinion on that particular work. Just how the wiki works.

I always get a shot of euphoria every time I see a Batman: Wayne Family Adventures image on a page.

"Hope for our world, tragedy for another."The troper in question has gone about 8 steps beyond "cleaning out the page" and flat-out vandalised it. Part of the description has been changed to "At some point a guy on TV Tropes read this piece of trash and said "WOW! cool future!" and here we are" and one of the edit reasons they gave was "I'll be back, there needs to be a chainsaw put to this article".
Does this count as Righting Great Wrongs?
(I don't really care enough to comment on the page's content right here, plus the entire political context behind it should probably be tackled here instead.)
I'd like to apologize for all this.A thread idea I've had but want to have some opinions on for creating:
I'm thinking about creating a thread for people wanting to share their generated (Dall-E, Stable Diffusion, etc) art, as opposed to the OTC AI art thread which is more for discussing the concept. I know there's some forum games that use it, but my idea's more akin to the various "share your art" threads in the Visual Arts section as opposed to taking prompts from others.
Any thoughts?
Welcome to Ideal's WorldNot any that you haven't heard before. AI art is soulless, it's stealing work from real artists to mash into a Frankenstein monstrosity, that art Isn't something they made themselves, etc, etc.

"Hope for our world, tragedy for another."... I meant on me making the thread, not thoughts on generative art in general.
Welcome to Ideal's World
There was a dedicated Victoria cleanup for exactly this reason. Well, technically it still exists, just nobody's actually participating...
