Discuss TV Tropes itself, such as observations you've made about the site/forum/wiki.
NOTE: Keep it civil; try not to get into any Flame Bait-y territory, per the forum rules (in particular, drama importation and popcorn posting are not allowed, and this thread is for discussion about the site and not the users). In addition, while discussing the Edit Banned thread is not prohibited on its own, discussing and/or alluding to specific cases is not permitted.
One thing I've noticed is that for all how the page for They Might Be Giants claims them to be the unofficial official band of this wiki, there's relatively few people on this site who seem to ever reference them.

All that Character Roster Global Warming did for me was remind me that Blizzard Entertainment is completely unable to design games without forcing the Holy Trinity into it, even to the detriment of game design.
"Grandmaster Combat, son!"Same. The actual meaning is almost the opposite of that, which confused me even more.
I sort of wish some of our answers were the actual definition now. They make more sense.
Gives me an idea for a forum game. "Define the above trope: Wrong Answers Only"
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSomeone should make that
shouldn't his favorite genre be RPG and not point and click though& Ooh, I'm doing that rn.
EDIT: Did just that. Enjoy

Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."I've never made a forum game before, but I have thought of one.
"Trope/Character Association Game". Name a trope and the next character lists three characters from any work they associate with it.
There's not already a game like that is there?

I’m gonna put some Gloom in your eye.Not with three characters, but I swear there was a game where someone lists a trope and the next person mentions a character or work they associate with it
shouldn't his favorite genre be RPG and not point and click thoughI was thinking about how common Deconstruction is on pages as a "badge of honor" trope, and I noticed Reconstruction has fewer examples on its pages than Deconstruction.
I personally find that sad—I love the Reconstruction trope, and I think it's a sign of how negative this wiki can be sometimes. That's not a knock on the wiki by the way—it's more a knock on tropers who use this wiki to be negative and complain.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallOr perhaps deconstructions just happen more often in works than reconstructions. Like, I've seen the former for the Idle Game genre a few times in my life, but never the latter.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)How do you Reconstruct the Idle Game genre anyways.
"Hope for our world, tragedy for another."How does one Play With a genre even?
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThat could be true too. I just wonder if there's more Reconstructions than we have documented out there. I could be wrong though—I was just throwing it out there.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallWe do have Genre Deconstruction. And you'd be surprised with my ideas, which I'm currently saving for when I begin game development. Or I may tell my rough idea now if you want.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)There's probably a Yack Fest for gamedevs somewhere
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupUnrelated, but today I learned I've been the OP author of 28 TRS threads.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallNot bad at all. Especially if those are substantial.

How did you find that out?
New theme music also a boxI feel like we should have a list of "badge of honor" tropes. You know, Complete Monster, Magnificent Bastard, Deconstruction, Nightmare Fuel (technically not a trope but it counts), etc, etc. All the ones that people think make their favorite work sound cooler.
"Hope for our world, tragedy for another."I have a list of all the TRS threads I started on my Tropers page. I replaced the bullets with numbers and found out.
That number may increase to 33 as well since I have 4 tropes in the TRS Queue and I'm wick checking Polygon Ceiling.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallAlso not really much of an observation, but it boggles the mind how some people manage to keep track of some threads and pages so much.
As someone who's a bit more of a casual user, it seems like you go away for a few hours, and suddenly there's 10 pages of activity that is almost impossible to keep up with, in some respects.
There are so many pages for video games that start with "The" that you could fill an entire page of a namespace index with them. Check here and here.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Pages that start with "The" are the bane of my existence because they make the T's of any section such a slog during wick cleaning.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessHow would you alphabetise them anyway? Do you organise them including the "The", or not?
Without the "the", for example The Legend of Zelda would go under L
shouldn't his favorite genre be RPG and not point and click though
I thought it was the slow disappearance of characters from a work, a la the slow disappearance of the polar ice caps as a result of global warming.
