This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

The quote on Crack Pairing is talking about time travel for some reason, and if it alludes to shipping in any way, it's really obtuse.
Replace with the Do You Hear The Fandoms Sing? lyrics?
Major League has two quotes.
I'm mainly a fan of underrated media.Apocalypse Wow quote is kinda generic (in the sense that you know it fits only if you know the context)
I think this describes perfectly the feeling of a world devastated (specifically by an atomic war)
As shown in the video, they're the first two line of the Italian opening of the Fist of the North Star anime (translated of course)
What do you think?
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upWhat would a good replacement for Primal Fear be (probably from the quotes page)?
I'd vote for the hitchcock one

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upCurrently, Murderous Mannequin does not have a quote. I would like to add this one:
"Like every right-thinking person in America, I am wary of mannequins. What are they? Are they alive or dead? No one knows! But what we do know is that they are extremely susceptible to being inhabited by spirits. We all saw the movie Mannequin. I mean, that idea doesn't come from nowhere!" - Wayne, Bless the Harts
I do not know if permission is needed the way it is for images, but better to check for feedback anyway. This quote covers a lot of ground when it comes to mannequins in fiction and manages to be about mannequins as a horror trope while not denying the times mannequins aren't dangerous. It is by far the best one ~I~ have found.
~Foxley, I think it's fair to ask for your feedback in particular.
^Certainly off the top of my head, I cannot think of a better quote.
I'm looking at Metal Gear codecs in MGS 2 for Memetics in Fiction.
For now, how about Monsoon's quote for the top of the page?
Monsoon: We're all pawns, controlled by something greater: Memes. The DNA of the soul. They shape our will. They are the culture — they are everything we pass on. Expose someone to anger long enough, they will learn to hate. They become a carrier. Envy, greed, despair... All memes. All passed along.
We can include the complete quote on the subpage.
Monsoon: Kill or be killed, Jack. Phnom Penh taught me that. Yes, you aren't the only one who grew up on the killing fields. War is a cruel parent, but an effective teacher. Its final lesson is carved deep into my psyche: That this world, and all its people, are diseased. Free will is a myth. Religion is a joke. We are all connected by something far greater. Memes. The DNA of the soul. They shape our will. They are the culture — they are everything we pass on. Expose someone to anger long enough, they will learn to hate. They become a carrier. Envy, greed, despair... All memes. All passed along.
It is a silly quote, but as of now I'm looking for more.

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Do you think this conversation between Rose and Raiden work as an example of memetics?
Raiden: I don't really know, but it probably influences a lot of what goes on in our everyday lives.
Rosemary: Even mundane things, like — which movies and songs become a hit, and what kind of clothes we wear?
Raiden: I think taste would be the easiest thing to manipulate. I mean, think about the kinds of film and bands everyone wants to go to see — it's whatever's at the top of the charts.
Rosemary: And if the charts are made up...
Raiden: Exactly.
Rosemary: But you can't really control individual taste. It's too closely tied to personality.
Raiden: I don't know about that. Trends have always been about following the leader...
I'm trying to look for memetics in MGS 2 for the article.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.It fits the trope, yes. But as a page quote, it’s too long.
SoundCloudI was thinking of putting the convo in the subpage. Monsoon's quote is the one I'm looking for the top of the article.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Another quote for the subpage of Memetics.
- Raiden: What did you talk with your teachers about?
Blade Wolf: Miscellaneous matters. Breakfast-table greetings. The structure of elementary particles. The challenges resulting from rapid globalization. Recent trends in popular music. However, as DARPA-funded military research, I was rarely treated as anything more than equipment.
Raiden: Makes sense. You were made to be a weapon.
Blade Wolf: On the other hand, some of them treated me like a pet, or as a child. Just as a parent passes on their memes to a child, so I was exposed to numerous influences. Memes I encountered on the web and through ebooks had their effects, as well. As my mind grew, the weaker memes were sifted out, and the stronger ones endured. The resulting collection of memes is what you would call my intelligence.
Raiden: Same as any of us, huh?
Blade Wolf: In a way, yes. However, I lack the instinctual skills your genes grant you. I am a slave to my memes. Thus, as my intelligence matured, I began to have doubts about my role as a weapon.

^ Level 00: Poem of Solitary Island. It's the starter situation.
Also in multiple trailers.
my brain is a computer with 4k of ram. this is a jokes wikiImpaled with Extreme Prejudice's quote is... ehhh. I'm also suspicious of the source being "Anonymous".
I like the The Gone-Away World and The Vampire of Steel quotes on the quotes page.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢I vote for Gone Away World. Just need to remove the pothole.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWhat do you think of this more concise quote for Think of the Children!:
Yo, I’m 4 it
The Simpsons quote imo relies too much on parenthes giving context to the scene.
Any thoughts on the Crack Pairing quote? If there's no objection, I'll make the change.
This is the quote Adept is referring to btw:
Sing about love that isn't there,
Between the people that we know will never lay their feelings bare."
It might help if you post the quote in the thread so people don't have search Quotes.Crack Pairing for it. Anyways, I find it funny and somewhat better than the current
Here's a suggestion quote for Walkie-Talkie Gag, Over. Thoughts?
Guy: My plan is to find some ties. You stay put. [beat] ...What?
Sam: You didn't say "over." Over.
Guy: That's because I am not an insane person. ...Over.
Alright. Changed.
As for Multicolored Hair, should the quote be removed? It only mentions that the hair is dyed, not that it's multi-coloured, and most of the examples of the trope doesn't even have dyed hair (it's usually natural), so the quote might be misleading.
Roger that. I think your quote is good Over.
If the removed quote is still valid for the trope, it’s good protocol to move it to the quotes page. Don’t worry, I already put the MST3K quote on the page for ya.
edit: also removed it from Quote Source (it’s easy to forget that exists)

Fits better on Nothing Is Scarier, IMO.
