-Just then, the paramedics arrive-

Paramedic A: Alright, clear out everyone. Make way! Who are we looking for?

Me: Oh, thank goodness you're here!

-I point down at the person using Ammy's tails as a blanket-

Me: His name is Pentigan. He's currently using his girlfriend's tails as a blanket.

Paramedic A: His girlfriend's a Ninetales?

Me: It's a Long Story... Anyway, he needs your help.

Paramedic B: Alright. How did this happen?

Me: Well, the J-Team was caught in a fight against a glitch that had turned into a giant green fusion of Venusaur and Blastoise! Pentigan gathered the powers of at least 7 to 15 people who were capable of using Aura and/or Obscura... Myself included, and unleashed that power as a Super-Mega-Ultra-Aura-Death-Lazer-thingy. And now he has collapsed!

Paramedic A: We'll do all we can to help him!

Paramedic B: We'll get him the medical attention he needs... wait... His girlfriend's a Ninetales?!

Paramedic A and I: It's a Long Story...

Paramedic B: Okay, okay, I get it... We'll need to get him onto a stretcher so we can get him to the hospital.

Reluctantly, Ammy set Pent down, gently, and turned human to communicate more clearly.

"I'm coming with and you can't stop me."

"We'd probably have an answer if we could understand them," Colton sighed.

Paramedic A: His girlfriend can turn into a HUMAN?!

-Paramedic A faints-

Piku-chan: <Bruh.>

Paramedic B: -sigh- Sorry about my partner. This tends to happen...

Me: It's okay. So long as Pentigan gets the medical attention he needs.

Paramedic B: Right. His health is our number one priority.

-Paramedic B looks over at Ammy-

Vermilion Ramen Extravaganza, J-Con Week Day 2

Shutter and Jonathan see a familiar Ferrari arrive next to the Ramen Buffet.

Priscilla: Before you say anything about PEFE, I paid for this out of pocket from birthday money daddy gave me.

Tommy: How are you an accountant?

Priscilla: I'm good at saving money.

Tommy: Easy to do that when you have a lot of money to begin with.

Tommy comes in with the biggest "damn rich people" expression on his face.

Jonathan: Oh, good. They clearly didn't hit it off.

Shutter: You really thought he'd dump Jane Stacy or Stephanie Hawthorn or Jean's daughter or that girl from the doughnut shop in Lumiose or the Battle Company secretary or the Interpol cop for Priscilla Kwan?

Jonathan: I mean, it's not at all perplexing. She's rich and beautiful, a wonderful person to be around with, she could trade up any time she wanted.

Jonathan sighed as Shutter left to get ramen.

Jonathan: Welcome back.

Priscilla: Well, if it's all the same, I'll foot your bill here. No trouble at all.

Jonathan: You don't have to.

Priscilla: I insist.

Tommy: She won't take no for an answer.

Jonathan: I know.

Shutter comes back with an absurdly large bowl of ramen.

Shutter: Grumpig belly, perfectly seasoned. 24 hour broth soup. Anyway, when are they releasing the Aurabolts merch? Last time I checked its booth got trashed. I wanna get merch.

Priscilla: I think I might be able to help. I know a few fellas.

Shutter: Sweet. The lines are gonna be murder if I don't get there early.

She knelt down and lightly slapped the unconscious paramedic.

“Hikari-Rever. Amy Hikari-Rever,” she introduced.

J-Con

Paramedic B: Well, Ms. Hikari-Rever. I will allow you to come with your boyfriend to the-

-Paramedic A recovers-

Paramedic A: Phrasing!

Paramedic B: Sorry. I meant to say, Ms. Hikari-Rever, you can join your boyfriend in the ambulan-

Piku-chan: -Awkward noise-

Paramedic B: D'oh! It happened again...

Paramedic A: Please excuse my partner. This tends to happen a lot. He can't even master basic phrasing.

J-Con

"No, I get it, she allowed," shirt inexplicably reading “分”. “But you should probably taking this more seriously,” she commented, shirt subsequently reading “笑”.

J-Con

Paramedic A: Understood.

Paramedic B: Gotcha. You can comfort your boyfriend on the way to the hospital.

-Paramedic B thinks to self- F**king finally...

J-Con

Gudrunn: ...Wait, I know one that can talk! His name's Tom Phan!

J-Con - Pent

"Thank you," Amy allowed. "Shall we assist him to the ambulance?"

J-Con - Gudrunn

"Does he talk or does he sing?" Colton asked. "I will do a bloody rap battle if it means he stops going [Phantom Of The Opera] on everything."

J-Con

-The Paramedics move Pentigan's stretcher onto the ambulance-

Paramedic A: We're glad you called for help when you did.

Me: Thank you. I'm always willing to lend a helping hand.

J-Con, Outside

Alyesha shortly wished some sweat from her forehead before giving Matvey a high five (well, more accurately the closest equivalent to a high five one can get when one of the two has a blade for a hand anyways). With a happy sigh, she leaned onto the Armaldo, looking at her booth. Matvey meanwhile pat her head gently with a warm smile.

Alyesha: "Thanks for helping me set this up, Matvey~"

In return, Matvey gave the closest thing he could to a thumbs up

Matvey: <No problem, Aly~>

For a moment, Alyesha simply relaxed like this before getting up again and behind the counter, now ready for the first orders, this time though mostly alone (save Matvey) as the rest of her team was visiting the con.

J-Con, Post-Kolemm Fight

-Yeah Pent's gotten really quiet now that there's more people around. It's not a dangerous quiet, he's stable, he just doesn't really feel like mumbling something and making things worse-

J-Con, Day 5, Outside

-Someone dressed as Sherlock Holmes is here. He's just kinda roaming about trying not to draw too much attention and looking a little fed up-

-Is this Pent? Shouldn't Pent be in hospital right now? If it isn't Pent then who is it?-

-The Sherlock Holmes cosplayer stops at the food stand-

Mysterious Sherlock: Just a serve of chips, thanks.

J-Con, Outside

Alyesha gave a thumbs up with a smile, starting to make fries for the mysterious seemingly not Pent

Alyesha: "So, how do you like the con so far~?"

J-Con, Day 5

Mystery Sherlock: It's good yeah. Most convenient place to get merch by far.

-Mezzo is sitting at a table licking an ice cream cone-

-she's still wearing the Organization cloak, and Sunny is still on her head-

Mezzo: Mmm... I should really go back to bed.

Sunny: <It's good for you to get some sun once in a while.>

Mezzo: I'm sorry, aren't you supposed to be nocturnal too?

Sunny: <Hey, it's good for me too, okay?>

-Sunny perks his ears up as he spots a particular green-haired girl approaching-

Noelle: Mezzy—

Mezzo: Don't call me that.

Noelle: Sorry. Um, can we talk?

-Mezzo tilts her head, causing Sunny to adjust his balance-

Mezzo: About what?

Sunny: <Romance?>

Mezzo: Yeah, no.

Noelle: Um, it's about romance...

Sunny: <Eee!>

Mezzo: Wait, why are you talking to me then?

Noelle: Look, can we do this in private?

Mezzo: Okay...?

Mezzo: All right, this better be good. And if you came to tell me you want to date me, I'm gonna shoot that down right now.

Noelle: No, it's not that, it's just I really need to get this off my chest and you're someone I can talk to and...

Mezzo: Spit it out already.

Noelle: I... I have a crush on Fortis!

Sunny: <Eeee!>

-Mezzo pauses a moment, then hits Noelle with her umbrella-

Noelle: Ow!

Mezzo: You creeping on me was bad enough, but now you're going for my little sister?

Noelle: I'm not creeping on her, I'm—

-whap-

Noelle: Ow! Stop it! Let me explain!

Mezzo: You're not dating her.

Noelle: I know! I know! It's just these past few days I realized I liked her and couldn't stop thinking about her but then I realized!

Mezzo: Realized what?

Noelle: That I can't just do that and she's still a child and I'd be taking advantage of her!

Sunny: <Awww...>

-Mezzo lowers her umbrella a bit-

Mezzo: Well, good for you for not doing that, but that doesn't let you off the hook.

Noelle: I know! I'm sorry! I feel like an awful person for that but I still have feelings for her and agh! I don't know what to do! I had to tell someone because it's eating me up inside!

Mezzo: And you picked me?

Noelle: I wanted to talk to Psyche or someone else from the polycule but they're not in town...

Mezzo: Well, I don't know what to tell you other than if you hurt Fortis, I will handpick at least seven blades from my collection to personally eviscerate you with.

-Noelle shudders-

Sunny: <Well, sometimes you end up with crushes on people you can't be with, but that doesn't mean you can't find true love. You have a loving relationship with everyone in your group, don't you?>

-Noelle nods meekly-

Sunny: <So there. I know it's difficult, but you did the responsible thing.>

Noelle: Right...

Sunny: <Maybe you can't change the way you feel, but you have to make the right decisions, you know?>

-Noelle nods-

Mezzo: Honestly, what I should do is ban you from seeing her, but I don't think I actually have the capability to do that.

Sunny: <That's mean!>

Mezzo: Have you told her anything about this?

-Noelle shakes her head-

Mezzo: Good. I honestly have no clue how she'd respond, but whatever it'd be, I know it's something I wouldn't want to deal with.

-Noelle nods again-

Mezzo: Is that all you wanted?

Noelle: Y...yeah. I feel a little better already.

Mezzo: Great, then I'm going back to sleep. Get out.

-Noelle walks out, and Mezzo tucks herself into bed-

Sunny: <I got a great new idea for a fanfic!>

Mezzo: No.

Sunny: <What do you mean, no?>

Mezzo: It'd just encourage them, and they don't need that. Or whatever, I don't need it.

Sunny: -sigh- <Fine...>

Alyesha had to chuckle hearing that

Alyesha: "I hope it isn't only about the merch though"

As she said that, Alyesha chuckled lightly

Alyesha: "Otherwise I think I'll have to sell more today"

Eagun: Oh, hello there, young Derek.

Dune: Hello, Eagun. I'm here to talk to one... Miss Gonzalez?

Eagun: Yes, she is already out in the forest. She is very... earnest.

Dune: That's an ominous pause.

Eagun: She can be difficult to maintain the attention of. She also likes to dance.

Dune: Oh.

Eagun: I tried to keep her here to speak to you, but...

Dune: Trust me, I know the type. I married one.

Eagun: You are a strange young man.

Dune: Being young has nothing to do with it.

Relic Forest

-Dune exits the barrier cave into the Relic Glade.-

Dune: Been a while...

-He hears lilting laughter from behind the stone. Dune circles around the Relic Stone to see a young Hispanic woman, her hair tied in two long pigtails that Dune can't help but observe look like long antennae. She's wearing a blouse with Butterfree embroidered on the sleeves and a skirt-like flair at the hem.-

Dune: Hello?

-The woman jumps to her feet.-

Alejandra: Oh, hello, you must be Dune, the Battle Master! Hi! Doctor Alejandra Gonzalez, very very recent graduate of CU!

Dune: CU... Castelia University, right?

Alejandra: Yeah! How'd you guess?

Dune: You're wearing Burgh socks.

Alejandra: Oh! Oh yeah, I did decide to wear these today!

-Dune had to stop himself from giving her the same look he gives Deziree.-

Dune: So, you want to set up an official preserve and laboratory here in Relic Forest, right?

Alejandra: Yeah! The local plant life is fascinating, having lived for centuries without pollinators, and were remarkably resistance to the recent Pineco incursion, which, you know all about that!

-Dune gives an only slightly dampened wince of pain as he remembers the Pineco starting to Self Destruct when they realized they were being relocated.-

Alejandra: But on top of that the local ecology is also adaptable enough to allow for the reintroduction of various endangered species of Bug-Types, like Larvesta! It would be a natural extension of the same systems used to protect the Orren Gastrodon, only this time with rare and endangered bugs whose native environments are being threatened being able to thrive in a forest protected by Celebi!

Dune: Wow, I'm impressed. You've put a lot of thought into this whole project.

Alejandra: It was my thesis! "The Use of Unique Ecosystems in the Repopulation of Endangered Pokemon"! And Orre is filled with weird and unique ecosystems. Like I mentioned that Relic Forest hasn't needed pollinators to maintain itself? Well, it turns out, this makes it a remarkably resilient ecosystem because it doesn't matter what you add to it or take away, short of Pineco and Burmy, who occasionally kill the trees they nest in. We won't be doing that. But yes we could add pollinators, take away pollinators, add predators, take away predators, so long as we manage the populations closely we could replenish Larvesta and Anorith populations enough to relocate them to more natural habitats!

-Dune takes a moment to ponder.-

Dune: Not a bad idea, and not a bad method of execution. However.

-Alejandra stops her little giddy shuffle.-

Dune: Orre is infamous for it's criminal element, which I've been doing my very best to counter. If you want my mark of approval, you'll have to show me that, intentionally or not, this preserve wouldn't be abused.

-He takes out a Pokeball. Alejandra blinks.-

Dune: Give me everything you've got, and we'll see if you've got what it takes to keep this corner of Orre safe.

Alejandra: WAIT WAIT WHAT

-After Amy gets on the ambulance, the ambulance drives off to the hospital-

Me: I'm definitely certain that Pentigan'll be okay. I mean, his girlfriend is with him. With their love and the medical know-how of the doctors, Pentigan will be back in action!

Piku-chan: <Ah, Love and Medicine... Two truly wonderful things...>

Me: So true, Piku-chan. Now, let's go find us somewhere we can enjoy our cake.

J-Con, Present

Me: This seems like a nice place to have our cake...

Piku-chan: <...and eat it too?>

Me: Hopefully.

Relic Forest, One (Embarrassing) Battle Later

Alejandra: Ooooooooh, you beat me so badly!

Dune: Hey, you got in a few good hits.

Alejandra: Only because your Tyranitar let me!

-Ajax just kinda shuffles awkwardly, feeling bad about the series of beatings he just gave.-

Dune: ... Huh. So you noticed.

Alejandra: Now I know why you're the Battle Master they had me get approval of! How many bad guys have you beaten?!

Dune: I mean, there's one other guy on the J-Team who's definitely beaten up more than me...

Alejandra: Oh, I need to evolve my Karrablast and Shelmet, train new moves for my Vikavolt, train my Florges...

Dune: The Altaria actually surprised me...

-Alejandra sits, huddles her knees up to her chest, and awkwardly scoots herself around.-

Alejandra: Oh, now I'll never get my preserve...

Dune: Eh, I wouldn't say that...

Alejandra: No little bundles of Larvesta being sent to the Desert Reso- wait, what?

Dune: To be honest I wanted to see what you would do if you lost. A lot of people wave around their bachelor's-

Alejandra: Actually mine's a doctorate.

Dune: Fair enough, but my point still stands. They wave around everything from the degrees to their ACT scores to the art mom hung up on the fridge in first grade, without having any real world practical application.

Alejandra: Oh, so Arts majors?

Dune: You better be careful saying that around here, arguments start over less.

Alejandra: Oh, yeah, I'd believe that.

Dune: Anyway, the fact that you took the lumps and didn't throw a fit or end up trying to sock me in the face is a pretty good sign that you'll improve through your own. So I'll tell you what. You get your preserve, since in all honesty it would be a major improvement to the local area and give Agate Village a new breath of life, on the condition that you get down to the Pre-Gym in Phenac and get some training in. Not asking for Mt. Battle challenge material, but a cut above the Pyrite Battle Square.

Alejandra: The Pyrite what?

Dune: Oh, you are new here. I'll explain later.

J-Con

-I reach into my backpack and take two forks out of it and give one to Piku-chan-

Piku-chan: <I can't wait to try this cake out.>

Me: I know it'll be tasty! Now then...

Piku-chan and I: <Itadakimasu~!^note Used in the context of "Let's eat!"

-Piku-chan and I dig our forks into the slice of cake and eat-

-The sweetness of the sugar and the slight spiciness of the berry mix together to create a lovely taste that makes Ian and Piku-chan feel like they're on a cloud-

Me: -sighs longingly- You were right about this cake, Piku-chan.

Piku-chan: <I was?>

Me: Yep. You were right about me liking it. Say, what did the whole cake look like?

Piku-chan: <It was a red, dome-shaped cake, with a sweet scent like that of fresh Razz Berries.>

Me: That explains why I thought it was somewhat familiar...

Piku-chan: <Oh?>

-I take another bite of the cake-

Me: Yeah... I thought I saw the cake once before in an anime Mom and I watched.

Piku-chan: -takes another bite of cake- <Makes sense.>
