YMMV regarding the 1992 Video Game:

  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Claudia Silva if the fact that many players who have uploaded their playthroughs to YouTube in which they choose to play as her are any sort of indication to go by. The fact that she provides plenty of eye candy, which in turn is further emphasized in fan art (of both SFW and NSFW varieties), certainly contributes to her relatively large visibility she has in comparison to the highly obscure game she hails from.
  • Funny Moments: Takeshi Fujioka's ending can count as one for some people due to how unexpectedly different it is from all the other fighters' endings. Whereas the endings of all other characters start with them doing things with their prize money after taking part in the competition, Fujioka's instead has him interrupting the broadcast of the announcement of his victory, and then revealing himself to be an undercover police officer. He then grabs the announcer by his collar and tells him that Interpol has uncovered evidence of the outfit hosting the tournament having taken part in dealing of narcotics. The announcer, no longer having the smug expression he had display up until now, only lets out an anticlimactic "Ah, crud!" After a few more panels of exposition explaining what happens to the drug ring, the infamous "Winners don't use drugs" PSA announcement sign that was commonly included prior to the Attract Mode of arcade games of the time.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Gregory Darrell is a guy dressed as a Viking and the music accompanying his stage (Link here for those interested) has some techno beats to it. So, would it be fair to say that Darrell was a Techno Viking before the meme came into existence in 2006?
  • Narm Charm: The "classic" PSA sign of "Winners don't use drugs" that was an annoyance for many arcade goers of the 1980s and 1990s is included in the United States release of Knuckle Heads. However, the fact that it appears almost as a random afterthought in one characters' arcade ending makes it humorous instead.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Kotono Mitsuishi, the voice actress for Claudia, would go on to portray more prominent characters in various widely watched anime series such as Usagi Tsukano in Sailor Moon, Misato Katsuragi in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Boa Hancock in One Piece to name a few.
