No Yay: All of the Unresolved Sexual Tension between the two main leads is written as sexy as possible. Now without changing the framing device, have a demon with that knowledge possess one of them and take the other half hostage to break their will, all while consistently seducing and making passes at them as their lover (and becoming increasingly manic). That is the relationship between Legion and Mewtwo.
Viewer Gender Confusion: Legion is a "he", but being in Mew's body for the majority of the scenes he's in, "she" is used to describe Legion's actions, and even then "(the) demon" is sometimes used in place of pronouns.
The Woobie: Notable examples are Mewtwo, Mew, Darkrai, and Manaphy, but all of the Legendaries fell under here during the Apocalypse How and some never got out of it.
