The Doors of Stone Recap
is a... possible interpretation of the third book of the The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss by Maykechi77 .
Seeing as the third book has been stuck in Development Hell for over a decade, the creator decided to round out the trilogy of recaps he made to the series and create his own third installment to the series in the form of yet another recap.
The Doors of Stone Recap contains examples of:
Acts 1- 2
- Adaptational Dumbass: All of the characters.
- Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: The Chandrian have gone from being mysterious boogeymen to being Denna's seven evil exes who Kvothe must defeat to earn her affection.
- Badass Crew: The Warriors Six Kvothe recruits; consisting of Mankanshoku Mako, R-Dash 5000, Vincent Valentine, Kodlak Whitemane, Katana, and Cone Man.
- Bourgeois Bohemian: Lampshaded by the narrator, who calls Count Threpe a "so-called "good" capitalist owner of the means of production".
- Mix-and-Match Critters: Kvothe's design in this is... fairly different from his book appearance being Mr. Krabs with the head of Carl the Llama dressed as Roman Torchwick.
- Quarantine with Extreme Prejudice: How Kvothe deals with the unnamed, mild virus plaguing Vintas. He shuts down every business not needed for day to day survival, destroying the economy.
- Troll Fic: Given the nonsensical and cartoonish nature of the events, it can safely be called this.
Act 3 (Spoilers)
- Ascetic Aesthetic: The white void/city where Kvothe finds himself working after the time jump.
- Blank White Void: Where Bardoon resides.
- Capitalism Is Bad: Taken to the next level. Private ownership of the means of production has led to workers being turned into nothing but a source of profit, mass media has completely brainwashed the populace, no original stories are told, and politicians are bribed by corporations into saying what they want.
- Climate Change Allegory: A pitch black liquid floods the entire world, destroying the ecosystem and human civilization.
- Cool Gate: Averted. The titular Doors of Stone are just a stone circle from Minecraft.
- Demiurge Archetype: Bardoon; a reality-warping being calling himself the "keeper of space and time; guardian of all knowledge" residing in another plane of existence who isn't God himself.
- Ominous Obsidian Ooze: The substance that floods the entire world at the end.
