— The Vagineer's characteristic roar
The Vagineer is a famous Garry's Mod character, created by YouTube user J16FOX2
. He based on the Engineer class from Team Fortress 2, except with a face distorted to vaguely resemble a vagina, and is generally characterized as being a bloodthirsty, cannibalistic monstrosity bent on violence and chaos who speaks exclusively backwards. And there are multiple of them, just to make things better. He is among the most widespread memes in the Garry's Mod community, and to a lesser extent the Team Fortress 2 community as well.
The Vagineer was the firstNote 'TF2 Freak', and remained as one of the most famous of such characters for as long as they were popular. If a TF2 Freak character exists, chances are they interacted with the Vagineer at least once. Over time, the character expanded to include more "subspecies" and unique individuals, which only served to enrich it.
Tropes associated with the Vagineer:
- Abnormal Ammo: The Vagineer can fire his own limbs as projectiles. Thanks to his Healing Factor, they just grow back immediately after.
- Always Chaotic Evil: Barring a handful of exceptions, Vagineers are always bloodthirsty monsters who kill everyone who gets in their way. Even those exceptions tend to be mischievously neutral at best.
- Bald of Evil: Being based on the Engineer, they're generally bald.
- The Berserker: The RED-teamed Vagineer is prone to being this, going into a furious rage at the sight of any inconvenience, generally leading to the death of whoever was unfortunate enough to be responsible.
- Big Eater: They're not picky eaters and will gobble up just about anything, especially people.
- Colour-Coded for Your Convenience: The Vagineer's subspecies are easily told apart from their team colors. Generally, any Vagineer that is not RED-teamed is going to be far more dangerous than normal, with the BLU-team variant being agreed to be the strongest.
- Eye Beams: The ORG Vagineer, who has an orange outfit, has this as their special power.
- Facial Horror: Take the Engineer and use G-Mod's face tool to turn his mouth into a vagina shape. Lovely.
- Healing Factor: One of his most famous abilities is enhanced regeneration which allows him to heal from practically anything, including closing wounds and regrowing lost limbs. This regeneration can't be stopped by anything, so the only way to kill a Vagineer is to overwhelm them to the point they just die outright without giving them a chance to heal up. Don't try and explode him either; do that and every giblet might regrow into a new Vagineer.
- Humanoid Abomination: Widely agreed to be an aberration upon the world who exists only to cause havoc.
- I Am a Humanitarian: He is consistently portrayed as a cannibal who is fond of eating people, usually immediately after killing them.
- Lightning Bruiser: Their combination of Super-Strength, Super-Toughness, Healing Factor and not being burdened by anything impairing their speed puts them solidly under this. Even their weakest versions are treated as a dangerous Jack of All Stats at worst among other TF2 Freaks.
- Patient Zero: The Original Vagineer, a character present in some canons who was the first of his kind and proceeded to spread his condition to other Engineers.
- Poisonous Person: The PRL Vagineer, who has a purple outfit and bug feet, can vomit out acidic poison.
- Red Is Violent: His most popular form is the original RED-teamed one, which is the most aggressive and prone to killing people just because.
- Sdrawkcab Speech: He speak everything backwards as a rule. The only 'word' associated with Vagineer that is not backwards is "Gottam"Note .
- Super-Strength: He is far stronger than a common man and can disembowel a person with his bare hands.
- Super-Toughness: Largely thanks to their ridiculous Healing Factor, they possess incredible endurance. While they can still feel pain, it takes a lot of effort to gravely wound them.
- Trope Maker: Of the TF2 Freak archetype, though Painis Cupcake would take the mantle of Trope Codifier.
- The Virus: A Vagineer can infect other with their condition in order to create more of themselves. And it's not restricted to Engineers either; two notable G-Mod characters include the Vagispy and the Scunt, who became TF2 Freaks of their own right.
- Vulgar Humor: It's an Engineer with a vagina for a face.
- The Worf Effect: It was practically a rite of passage in early TF2 Freak days for your character to beat the Vagineer in a video as part of their introduction, to show off whatever they were about and what they could do. This became less common over time, however, mostly due to the Vagineer growing less popular over time.
