Intro

Asuka's Revenge is a YouTube manga dub channel. The channel hosts revenge stories involving households. It stars Asuka, Yamato and their relatives. The English channel can be found here. The original Japanese channel can be found here.


Asuka's Revenge contains the following tropes:

  • Delusions of Beauty: Yuma thinks that he is attractive after being praised by his friends for marrying a beautiful woman like Kotomi. Yuma's delusions eventually escalates to the point where he decides to cheat on Kotomi with different women, causing her to divorce Yuma.
  • Gold Digger: Nami only married Yamato because she thinks she can leech off of her sibling-in-laws for supposedly having a good job. Nami is revealed to be drowning in debt after using the money she borrowed to chase celebrities.
  • The Grovel: Kotomi's ex-husband tries to get back with Kotomi after trying to steal her inheritance, though Kotomi keeps ignoring him because she is busy taking care of her children.
  • Happily Married: Yoshida and her husband, despite the latter having a terminal illness. Unfortunately, their marriage doesn't last long as Yoshida's husband had succumbed from his illness a few years later.
  • Humiliation Conga: After Asuka spills the fact about Takashi not paying child support to his ex-wife Kotomi to his co-workers, they turn on him and call him out, forcing him to take a loan to pay Kotomi in full, and he must get a second job to pay for it. Everyone also starts avoiding him, including his girlfriend and business partners. After losing everything he had, he barely makes ends meet now.
  • Important Haircut: Kenta and his father got their hair completely shaved by his grandfather for throwing a rock at Ryota and refusing to acknowledge what his son did was wrong, respectively.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Yoshida's husband at one point suggests they divorce as he doesn't want to burden her with his terminal illness. She refuses and they remain Happily Married till his death... the problem being Kotomi's husband overhears the conversation and take that to mean Yoshida is "available."
  • Lazy Bum: Kotomi's brother-in-law keeps showing up at her house to slack off without doing anything, his brother defends him and even gives him a spare key to gain access to house.
  • Misplaced Retribution: After getting fired from his job for harassing Yoshida, Kotomi's ex-husband tries to assault Yoshida's husband instead of reflecting on his actions.
  • Momma's Boy:
    • Satoru only cares about his parents despite being married to Kotomi. He uses the money from their joint savings for himself and his parents, and he even tells them to come to the vacation that Kotomi set up in an attempt to salvage their marriage. Infuriated by Satoru's behavior, Kotomi decides to divorce him.
    • Yuta only cares about his mother when she asks Kotomi for money, he also stole Kotomi's money and stuff for his mother in the past. He even stole Airi's money behind her back so he can give them to his mother to go on vacations. Kotomi has had enough of it and decides to divorce Yuta. Furthermore, Airi no longer acknowledges Yuta and his mother as her father and grandmother, respectively. After living together with his mother for some time, Yuta gradually regrets his decision due to her overspending habits and tries to get back with Kotomi, only to be ignored.
    • Hiroki keeps telling his wife Kotomi to quit her job so she would take care of his parents every day, but he doesn't even care about Kotomi's family when she asked him. Hiroki later threatens to divorce Kotomi when she refuses to take care of his parents. Unfortunately for him, Kotomi happily signs the divorce papers right away.
  • Ms. Red Ink: Yuta's mother always spends a lot of money given by him on frivolous things, she also doesn't care if the money were stolen from Yuta's wife or daughter and never tries to return them. Furthermore, Yuta himself starts to complain about his mother's overspending habits when they start living together.
  • Obnoxious Entitled Housewife:
    • Rina stole Asuka's gift that is intended for her niece. When confronted by Asuka, Rina refuses to return the gift to her and Rina's husband chooses to side with her despite various evidence being provided by Asuka, forcing her to call the police on Rina.
    • Kenta's mother refuses to pay for Ryota's medical treatment when her son threw several rocks at him when he dressed up as an oni. It is later revealed that Kenta's mother never paid the fees to take part in the event and she just told her son to join without the staff's permission, causing the incident in the first place. To make things worse, Kenta's father also sides with his wife and son, and blames Ryota for dressing up in the oni costume.
  • Obnoxious In-Laws:
    • In this story, Asuka's mother-in-law dislikes her for being married to her son Ryota, she also pretends to be a good mother-in-law in front of her family to cover up her disdain of Asuka. Not only that, the old hag also sabotages Asuka's housewife works, including throwing her food away and making the floor look dirty.
    • In this story, while Asuka has a good relationship with her mother-in-law this time, but her father-in-law tries to sabotage their relationship because he wants to see them argue with each other For the Evulz. Infuriated by her husband's behavior, Asuka's mother-in-law tells her to "fight" with her so they can destroy his whiskey collection to teach him a lesson.
    • Kotomi's mother-in-law despised her and always made her do things and badmouthed her behind her back. Even though she is nice to Kotomi's daughter Kotoko, she could see through her act. When she said that Kotomi didn't care about Kotoko and that she had to raise her on her own, she called her out while the rest of the family was paying their respects to their ancestors.
  • Relationship Sabotage: Asuka's father-in-law tries to sabotage her relationship with her mother-in-law just because he wants to see them fight for his own amusement.
  • Sleeping with the Boss: Hiromi cheated on her husband, Fubuki, with her boss, Mr. Oda. When he found out and sat her down to ask why, Hiromi revealed she was into old men. As a result, Fubuki divorces her and sues both lovers for alimony.
  • Stalker with a Crush:
    • Kotomi's husband asks Kotomi for a divorce and claims to be dating his some at his workplace. In reality, he is actually obsessed with a Happily Married co-worker named Yoshida after eavesdropping her conversation with another co-worker about Yoshida's husband wanting her to divorce him because he doesn't want to be a burden to her owing to him having a terminal illness, something that Yoshida refuses. After he divorces Kotomi, the ex-husband keeps harassing Yoshida into marrying him, which eventually leads to his dismissal from his company, causing him to assault Yoshida's husband at the hospital.
    • Maki Ataoka is obsessed with Ryota to the point where she follows him everywhere and claims to be his ex-girlfriend while they were never dating in the first place, she even stole several of Ryota's belongings when they were still in school.
  • Threat Backfire: Hiroki threatens to divorce Kotomi by showing her the divorce papers because she refuses to take care of his parents every day. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't know that Kotomi already signed and submitted the papers to the city office because she has had enough of him and his mother.
  • Threatening to Cut Ties: Kotomi's husband Hiroki wanted her to quit her job and take care of his parents and do all the housework, which she's against because they need the money. While arguing, Hiroki pulls out divorce papers and signs them to intimidate Kotomi, which she signs and delivers to the city office despite knowing that he was only bluffing. Hiroki gets angry at Kotomi when she finds out and claims that he wasn't being serious, before getting on his knees and begging to not get divorced. Hiroki later starts calling Kotomi and begs to get back together, to the point where her father has to threaten to call the police to get him to stop.
