Trivia / The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again

Go To

  • California Doubling: Denton is implied to be in America but this movie was filmed entirely in Canada.
  • Cut Song: Like the first movie, Brad's song Once In A While was cut from the original broadcast but added to the extended cut on DVD.
  • Disowned Adaptation: Rocky Horror creator Richard O'Brien, who already isn't crazy about re-imaginings of his play, was particularly harsh to this one, calling it "misconceived and badly cast".
  • Hey, It's That Place!: The cinema/Frank's Castle is Casa Loma which is a popular filming location used in;
  • Playing Against Type: Jayne Eastwood usually plays parent or teacher figures in TV productions aimed at children. Here, she is the assistant to the Lemony Narrator.
  • Promoted Fanboy:
    • Rocky Horror fan club president Sal Piro gets a cameo as the wedding photographer.
    • Laverne Cox, who plays Frank in the remake, was a big Rocky Horror fan when she was in college, but surprisingly, she has never seen the film in a theater (however, she planned to before production started). She even cried when Tim Curry joined the cast of the remake!
    • Victoria Justice, who plays Janet, has been a fan of the movie since she saw it at a slumber party in middle school, and her first shadowcast screening was at age 15. She has seen the movie six times.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot:
    • The role of The Butler was added to the cast in order to help Tim Curry carry out the physical duties of the Criminologist, as Curry was still recovering from a near-fatal stroke which left him in a wheelchair.
    • This could also be the reason why Columbia is fully clothed in the floorshow, since Annaleigh Ashford was pregnant while she was filming the movie.
  • Romance on the Set: Reeve Carney and Victoria Justice started dating during the filming.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Back in 2009, MTV and Sky Movies planned to release a two-hour long remake of Rocky Horror. The remake was based on the original screenplay but was going to feature original songs and was going to be released around Halloween 2009. It was cancelled after a petition by furious fans.
    • Tim Curry first offered to play Dr. Scott, having been rendered wheelchair-bound due to his stroke. He also thought it would be a great Casting Gag since his original character Frank was opposed of Scott, and considered him an enemy. Nonetheless, the remake's producers decided to cast him as The Criminologist instead.
    • It was originally meant to be filmed in front of a live audience like the Grease remake but Executive Meddling shut that down.
  • Written-In Infirmity: The Criminologist remains in his chair the entire time, as Tim Curry was rendered paraplegic by a stroke a few years earlier (his limited facial movement is also quite visible).
