Trivia / The Defenders (2017)

• Billing Displacement: Naturally, the four leads are billed first, in order that their series came out (Cox, Ritter, Colter, Jones) while Rosario Dawson, Scott Glenn, and Sigourney Weaver are billed last with a With/And modifier. However, all other characters are billed alphabetically. This means that fifth billed is Eka Darville's Malcolm, who has no significant impact on the plot. Meanwhile, Jessica Henwick's Colleen and Simone Missick's Misty are near the back, and, most egregious of all, Elektra (as played by Elodie Yung) receives the lowest billing.
• Channel Hop: From Netflix to Disney Plus, after Netflix lost the distribution rights in early 2022.
• The Danza: Susan Alexandra Sigourney Weaver plays Alexandra.
• Fake American:
  • When it comes to the main heroes, Brits Charlie Cox and Finn Jones as Matt Murdock and Danny Rand.
  • Meanwhile in the supporting cast, Australians Rachael Taylor and Eka Darville as Trish Walker and Malcolm Ducasse; Brit Jessica Henwick as Chinese-Japanese and naturalized American Colleen Wing.
• Real Life Writes the Hairstyle: One will notice that Colleen has her hair pinned up in a ponytail in all of her scenes, and there are no scenes of her with her hair loose. According to Jessica Henwick, this was done so that audiences wouldn't confuse Colleen with Elektra, as Élodie Yung wears her hair loose through all of Elektra's scenes. Ironically, during her scenes in Daredevil (2015), Elektra usually has her hair pinned up during fights.
• Similarly Named Works: There have been two previous TV shows that have had the title Defenders: one in the 60s and one in the 2010s. They have nothing to do with this series.
