Trivia / The Buzz on Maggie

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Tara Strong voices Dawn Swatworthy, Maggie's baby sister Bella, and her female cousins.
  • Dawson Casting:
    • All the teen and preteen characters are voiced by adult voice actors.
    • This even extends to adult characters - Mrs. Pesky, who appears to be in her late 30s, is voiced by then-62-year-old Susan Tolsky.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The show hasn't aired on TV since 2008, only three episodes note  were ever released on DVD via an extremely rare promotional kit, and it's currently not available on Disney+. The only way to currently watch the show is on YouTube. Two episodes also showed up on series director Dave Wasson's website in the 16:9 aspect ratio but low quality, though sadly his site has since been closed and the domain has been cybersquatted.
    • The series hasn't been aired, acknowledged or re-released since August 2008, making the chances of a home video release or availability on Disney+ very unlikely and most of the episodes that are online are low quality TV recordings from when the series still aired on Disney Channel, thank goodness for that, otherwise the series could've been considered lost media.
    • Additionally, the high-quality (though still 4x3) prints of the three episodes from the one and only DVD release of the series have been posted, making those the only full episodes of the series to have been made available on YouTube without any logo bugs on the screen.
  • Playing Against Type:
  • Real-Life Relative: In the Latin Spanish dub, Chauncey (Arturo Mercado) and Aldrin (Arturo Mercado Jr.) are voiced by father and son.
  • Screwed by the Network: Possibly the most screwed over in Disney Channel history:
    • Disney Channel cancelled the series in August 2005 (when the show had been on the air for only two months and only aired nine episodes), despite good domestic ratings, because it did bad overseas. Disney also felt the Adobe Flash animation was a reason why the show didn't do so well.
    • After the series ended the show only aired on the channel late at night until 2008 when it was pulled completely. The series also didn't reran on its sister network Toon Disney, with it airing on the channel only once in January 2007.
  • Star-Making Role: While she has done some minor voice work before, Jessica DiCicco as Maggie is what put her on the voice acting map.
