Trivia / Tawawa on Monday

Go To

  • Channel Hop: The first season of the anime aired on YouTube and Niconico Douga, but the second season switched over to Abema LINE TV.
  • Children Voicing Children: In a case of a teen voicing a teen, Sayaka Harada was around 18-19 years old when she started playing Ai-chan in the first season. Not the case afterwards, thanks to the Sequel Gap.
  • Meaningful Release Date: Many images are inspired by either something that happened that day or in the week ahead. Some also reference Japanese Holidays:
    • The Marine Day chapters typically have a couple or two (attempt to) go to the beach.
    • #75 takes place during the week of the Koshien (High School Baseball) qualifying rounds.
    • #137 came out on the same day Nippon Television held their annual airing of Castle in the Sky.
    • #157 references Team Japan's exemplary performance in Women's Curling during the 2018 Winter Olympics.
    • #173 was posted in June, the go-to month for weddings.
    • #174 and #175 were drawn during the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
    • #204 was a stealthy reference to Coming of Age Day.
    • #215 sees Himura ring in the Reiwa Era by announcing a Hotter and Sexier R18 spinoff about Ai-chan, Kouhai-chan, and Maegami-chan... to be released in Heisei 31. Whoops.note
    • #228 was released the same week as a television airing of Your Name.
    • #234 came out the week of Comiket 96.
    • #239 was released on Respect Your Elders Day.
    • #243 was drawn as Typhoon Hagibis swept through Japan.
    • #316 was released during the Japanese release of the final Rebuild of Evangelion movie, as given away by its title of "Second Impact". Another image released that day expands the reference via Kouhai-chan cosplaying Misato Katsuragi.
    • #318 has a blatant reference to the container ship Ever Given running aground in the Suez Canal. It had yet to be unstuck by the time of the image's posting.
    • #382 was published at the tail end of Spy X Family's anime adaptation.
    • #447 features Ai-chan playing basketball, and was posted after the final match of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
    • #455 was uploaded on the same week as Attack on Titan's anime adaptation's series finale.
    • The Sada-chan storyline is apparently reserved for the weeks around the holiday of Obon.note
  • Playing Against Type: Rie Takahashi has cultivated the image of voicing either loli or gentle young girls, if her character is somewhat big-boobed, they tend to be less pronounced. So it's to the surprise of her fans that she managed to pull off Maegami-chan who is not just big boobed and older, she's also seductively aggressive. In fact, her being in that show alone is a surprise to her fans.
  • Role Reprise: All of the voice actors who appeared in the anime reprised their roles for the second season five years later.
  • Sequel Gap: The animated adaptation aired in Fall 2016, but did not receive a second season until 2021.
  • Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: The anime's first episode was originally posted on Youtube as well as niconico. Unfortunately, a few "Youtube Heroes" who believed the series to be hardcore ecchi thanks to the girls' proportions flagged the video multiple times until it was taken down. The rest of the episodes were Niconico-exclusive.
  • Write What You Know: Kiseki Himura has admitted to basing the character of "Onii-san", Ai-chan's boyfriend, on himself. He recalled his own experience as a typical salaryman, trudging through life as a pervading sense of hopelessness weighed him down.
