- Defictionalization: The Destroyer - class BETA plushie, originally a background item in an fandisc segment set in Extra about a buxom anthropomorphism of a Destroyer - class BETA which become a fandom in - joke, was officially - released for the first time as part of the Muv-Luv Kickstarter.
- Easter Egg: The production committees for each animated adaptation are named for an Alternative Plan: I (Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse), II (Schwarzesmarken) and III (Muv-Luv Alternative).
- Flip-Flop of God: age has been notoriously inconsistent with the canonicity of the Altered Fable epilogue to Muv-Luv Alternative. While the story was clearly written as a follow-up to Alternative's ending, early releases had voiceover intros downplaying its relevance to Muv-Luv canon. Later releases removed the voiceover intro, and translators working on the international release of the visual novels maintained that Altered Fable was always written with the intent of being a canon epilogue. The matter was finally settled with the English release of photonmelodies which explicitly markets Altered Fable as an official sequel to Alternative.
- Trolling Creator: Go fire up a new installation of Extra after finishing the trilogy. Notice those random lines in the background? That's actually a Type-00R Takemikazuchi. And you were expecting some random comedic "moe" game, haven't you?
