Playing Against Type: "Weird Al" Yankovic as the Dollmaker. Famed as a kindhearted family-friendly comedian, any villainous characters he plays tend to be either comical, harmless, sympathetic, or some combination of the three. The Dollmaker has none of these traits, and fittingly Al eschews his typical clownish, exaggerated tone for a near-unrecognizable Soft-Spoken Sadist voice.
In Bruce's Court Of Owls-induced nightmare where he dreams of Damian as a future Batman standing over the bodies of Bruce's allies and loved ones, originally Batgirl/Barbara Gordon and Catwoman/Selina Kyle were amongst their number. Batgirl was removed to not give away her appearance in The Stinger for Batman: Bad Blood, despite having a different design based on Batgirl of Burnside there rather than the more Young Justice (2010)-like appearance for the planned scene, but why Catwoman was removed is unclear.
According to James Tucker, there was going to be a credits teaser where it cut to Dollmaker’s abandoned factory and into a back room where there’s a writhing figure strapped to a gurney. It would pan over to see the Joker’s face pinned to a wall, setting up Death of the Family. He was told to cut it.
The Comic Book mini-series
What Could Have Been: According to Bleeding Cool, the original plan for this story under the abandoned 5G initiative was different. In this iteration, Damian willingly pulled a Face–Heel Turn, feeling abandoned by Bruce's poor reaction to Alfred's death. He would end up following in Ra's al Ghul's footsteps and lead Leviathan, putting him in conflict with both new Batman Luke Fox and new Superman (and Damian's former friend) Jon Kent. The story would see Jon and Luke becoming a new World's Finest team as a result of this, though Damian's fate is unknown.
