- A larger-scale example happens in the Mass Effect/Starcraft crossover Cycles Upon Cycles. Commander Shepard's ship, the Normandy, is an Alliance (The alliance in question is between the races of Starcraft) ship meant to operate covertly in Council space (there was a war and now neither side trusts the other). They proceed to quickly blow that out of the water before their first mission- they get warning of an attack on the planet of Eden Prime and then proceed to very publicly save the planet from said attack. Luckily, their act of heroism helps convince the Council to simply let them operate in their space.
- Seeing as how it's a Star Wars fic, this happens in the very first chapter of New Stars as the clones and Jedi Master Kit Fisto lead a raid on a Separatist lab.
- Said word-for-word by Twilight in Shades Act 2 Part 4 of the Mass Effect/My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fanfic Mass Effect The Equestrian Equation after the alarm is raised during their attempt to locate the kidnapper of ponies.
