Recap / The Real Ghostbusters S 2 E 38 Hard Knights Day

Go To

The Ghostbusters drive back to the firehouse, very quickly because Peter has a date. When they arrive, Peter looks for his shirt, only to find that Slimer has gotten ectoplasm on it. Ray lets him borrow his shirt, and Peter accepts, despite disliking the shirt.

Peter meets his date, Dr. Doris Tibbs, and discusses places to go. However, Doris reveals that she's already booked tickets for a showing of a tapestry called the "Genevieve Tapestry" at a museum. Peter doesn't want to go, but caves in, and to his annoyance, Slimer tags along. With a few minutes before the unveiling of the tapestry, Peter and Doris look at unicorn tapestries and Slimer continues to annoy Peter.

A museum official named Steve Jennings, who knows Doris, rubs Peter up the wrong way for dismissing the Ghostbusters business as "nonsense". Then, Steve unveils the Genevieve Tapestry, which depicts a woman who looks oddly like Doris. A painting of knights then comes to life and the leader introduces himself as Sir Bruce Sans Pitie. He declares he's free of "Merlin's curse" and thinks Doris is Genevieve, who he's in love with. Sir Bruce and his men then kidnap Doris, "awaken" (read: bring to life) some other statues, paintings, and tapestries, and turn the museum into a castle.

The other Ghostbusters show up, and Egon determines that if these changes aren't reversed soon, they'll be permanent. Peter blames Steve for the trouble. Meanwhile, Sir Bruce is waiting on Doris, still insisting she's a cursed Genevieve, as the Genevieve Tapestry changes. She calls out for Peter, and then Ray and Egon realise that if they don't hurry, she will replace Genevieve on the tapestry. They also determine that they cannot trap Sir Bruce because of the curse he mentioned.

Luckily, Egon also determines that the curse is tied to the moon (since the chaos only started when the tapestry was unveiled on a full moon), and so he and Ray think that if they can just keep Sir Bruce busy until dawn, they can trap him then. They sneak in and try to sneak past Sir Bruce's men, but then Slimer gets distracted by food, and Ray accidentally gets the baddies' attention by signalling to him and they're chased by ghosts and unicorns.

Doris is now starting to become Genevieve, and Peter grabs her and runs. Ray and Winston arrive, riding unicorns and being chased by the knights. Sir Bruce then realises it's almost daytime, so he runs inside to avoid being shot at by the Ghostbusters. Peter then dresses as Merlin, scaring Sir Bruce outside and allowing him to be trapped. Once Sir Bruce is trapped, all of the artworks become inanimate again, and Doris goes back to normal with no memory of having been Genevieve.
