When Ray goes out of town, Tito volunteers to look after Otto and Reggie. Will Tito let the kids get away with murder?

This episode includes examples of:

  • Babysitter Friendship: Because Tito is their family friend, the Rocket kids are excited to have him as their babysitter for the weekend. However, things don’t go exactly how they expected.
  • Babysitting Episode: Tito spends the episode babysitting Otto and Reggie and struggling with having to be an authority figure to them for once.
  • Easily Forgiven: Tito takes Otto and Reggie betraying his trust and sneaking out of the house very well. He blames himself for being too strict with them and then joins in on the Night Skate activities.
  • Foreign Queasine: Tito makes traditional Hawaiian food for the kids, like raw barnacles and taro leaves boiled in goat milk, much to their disappointment.
  • Honorary Uncle: As Ray’s best friend, Tito may as well be the kids’ uncle and even refers to himself as their “Uncle Tito”.
  • Hula and Luaus: Not only does Tito put on a traditional luau for the kids, he also tries to teach them to hula dance.
  • Incredibly Lame Fun: Tito’s promised luau feast and movie night ends up consisting of no junk food and a documentary about sugar cane. Tito is having a blast, but the kids are far less impressed.
Otto: Tito has gone totally, intensely, epically lame!
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: When Tito tells the kids to surf closer to the shore, Otto complains that it’s like “shoobie high tide” out there. Reggie tries to reassure him by asking “How bad can it be?” only for a group of tourist-looking kids to go running into the water.
  • Kids Hate Chores: Otto and Reggie are very disappointed when Tito actually makes them do their chores as they thought they’d be able to skip them while he’s in charge for the weekend.
  • Kids Shouldn't Watch Horror Films: Tito certainly believes this, not letting the kids watch the monster movies Reggie rented because he’s afraid they’ll give them nightmares.
  • Parlor Games: Tito excitedly tries to play a game of “Hawaiian charades” with Otto and Reggie, but they ditch him to go to the Madtown Night Skate instead.
  • Sneaking Out at Night: Assuming he’ll say no, instead of asking Tito if they can go to the Night Skate, Otto and Reggie sneak out and go without him knowing.
  • Talking in Your Sleep: Tito does this, in between loud snores.
Tito: Never plant the red coconut tree next to the yellow coconut tree, [snore], otherwise you end up with orange coconut.

There's Something About Breezy

Ray is smitten by the new Sunset Surf clothing rep named Breezy, who gets everyone's attention with her skating and surfing skills.

This episode includes examples of:

  • Anywhere but Their Lips: As she’s getting ready to leave Ocean Shores, Breezy kisses Raymundo on the forehead, leaving a bright pink kiss mark. She also kisses Otto, Sam, and Twister chastely on their foreheads.
  • Asinine Alternate Activity: Not knowing what a skilled skater she is, Otto suggests that instead of the bowl Breezy should start off easier, as he gestures to a little kid rolling a toy car down a miniature ramp.
  • Commonality Connection: Reggie and Breezy connect over Reggie’s zine and an appreciation for traveling.
  • Copycat Mockery: Reggie mocks Sam when he excitedly goes off to surf with Breezy.
Reggie: [sarcastically] “Come on Breezy, watch me do it in the water!” Puh-lease!
  • Crush Blush: Raymundo and the three boys all get this after being kissed by Breezy, which Reggie teases them for.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Ray’s attention is instantly grabbed by Breezy walking up to the Shore Shack.
  • Gibberish of Love: Ray gets quite tongue-tied when trying to talk to Breezy.
Ray: U-um, these are my kids, Eggie and Rotto - er, R-Reggie and Otto!
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Reggie becomes extremely jealous of Breezy, both for taking her place as the resident Passionate Sports Girl and for taking away her dad’s attention.
  • Innocent Bigot: Breezy, who’s new to the area, says she wanted to check out where the “natives” hang out. Reggie takes note of this phrase and is clearly offended by it.
Reggie: We natives were just getting ready to go blading.
  • Must Have Lots of Free Time: While Breezy says she’s in the area for business, she seems to spend most of her time playing different sports with the kids.
  • Not Now, Kiddo: Reggie gets irritated with Ray missing all her tricks because he’s distracted by Breezy.
  • Parent with New Paramour: Ray definitely has eyes for Breezy. Otto seems fine with it, but Reggie isn’t impressed with her. Unfortunately, right when Reggie starts warming up to her Breezy has to travel for work again.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The episode’s title is a reference to the movie There's Something About Mary.
  • Precocious Crush: The boys’ feelings about Breezy seem to fall somewhere between this and Hero Worship.
  • Prompting Nudge: Otto has to do this to Raymundo to get him to introduce the kids to Breezy.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After Breezy scores a goal on her during their street hockey game, Reggie blows up and storms away angrily.
