Tonight, Ladybug and Cat Noir disappointed all their loyal fans by refusing to admit their love for one another. I've prepared some trials just to see how far they're prepared to keep the truth hidden from us.

"Prime Queen. I am Hawk Moth. I see Ladybug and Cat Noir have denied you the answers you deserve. Steal their Miraculous, and you will get your scoop!"
Hawk Moth

In an effort to get viewers and maintain her prime-time show, Nadja confronts Ladybug and Cat Noir about the nature of their relationship. When Ladybug insists they're superheroes, not celebrities, and shuts down the interview, Nadja is akumatised into Prime Queen and will do whatever it takes to get Ladybug and Cat Noir to confess their love for each other, even if it means threatening their friends.

Tropes:

  • Attention Whore: Chloé calls during an interview with Ladybug and Cat Noir despite not having any question to them. She mostly uses this as opportunity to talk about herself and how close she and Ladybug supposedly are.
  • Call-Back: The kiss from "Dark Cupid" (among other things) is brought up by Nadja as evidence that Ladybug and Cat Noir are dating.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • In his new videoclip, Jagged Stone is wearing the Eiffel Tower glasses Marinette designed for him in "Pixelator".
    • One of the channels Alya flips through is (apparently) a shampoo commercial by Aurore Beauréal.
  • Do Not Adjust Your Set: One of Prime Queen's main powers. She can hijack any television and broadcast anything within the line of sight of those televisions.
  • Dynamic Entry: Unlike Cat Noir, Ladybug enters the studio by kicking the doors open and swinging onto the set two seconds before they go live on the air.
  • Everyone Can See It: Nadja claims this about Ladybug and Cat Noir.
  • The Faceless: Nadja's boss (Arlette) is only seen from the back and below the neck. The SCR she's in is also very shadowy.
  • He Is Not My Boyfriend: As usual, Ladybug insists that she and Cat Noir are not a romantic couple, and that the photos Nadja shows are just being taken out of context.
  • I Have Your Wife: Prime Queen abducts Chloé and puts her on an accelerating runaway subway car in order to draw out Ladybug and Cat Noir. When that fails, she kidnaps Alya and stuffs her in a sarcophagus, threatening to drop her into the Seine.
  • Internal Reveal: Cat finds out about the kiss from "Dark Cupid".
  • Jerkass Ball: Alya rather bizarrely catches it when she makes a video call to Nadja's show and boasts about her blog's podcast having more viewers than Nadja does - while she is looking after Nadja's daughter, no less.
  • Lured into a Trap: Prime Queen does this twice to Ladybug and Cat Noir, first getting them onto the subway car before locking all the doors then sending them into a walk-in freezer. Ladybug gets her back up covering the TV in the room and pretending that she and Cat are removing their Miraculous so Prime Queen will try to break the cover, allowing them to yank her through the TV and break it to trap her.
  • Mistaken for Romance: Nadja believes Ladybug and Cat Noir to be dating.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Ladybug storming out of the interview to avoid Nadja's prying questions ends up creating Prime Queen.
  • Not What It Looks Like: During the interview, Nadja shows few out-of-context pictures to prove that Ladybug and Cat Noir have feelings for each other.
  • Running Gag: Cat Noir twice tries to kiss Ladybug, but she turns him down.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: Unlike Ladybug, Cat Noir quite literally drops into the studio without anyone noticing.
Nadja: (nearly drops her tablet) Wha— Which way did you come in?!
    Cat Noir: Secret celebrity door.
  • Shout-Out:
    • One of the channels Alya zaps through is broadcasting an episode of a Crying Breakfast Friends parody.
    • Manon also at one point paraphrases Toy Story ("To the Eiffel Tower, and beyond!").
  • Something Only They Would Say: Ladybug and Cat Noir quickly realize that Prime Queen is Nadja when she uses her catchphrase.
  • Thinking Up Portals: Prime Queen can use any hijacked television's screen as a Television Portal.
  • Too Awesome to Use: Throughout the episode, Ladybug encourages Cat to save his Cataclysm for later, since they need to make sure they can catch up to Prime Queen first.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: The main crux, a superhero goes on a show for an earnest discussion, only to storm out when the host becomes noisy, leading to the show being cancelled and the host becoming a villain, is similar to an episode of The Batman.
  • Wrestler in All of Us: Ladybug dominates Prime Queen with an armbar that would make any wrestler/mixed-martial artist proud.
