While Maximus tightens his rule, the rest of he Royal Family still tries to find their way on Earth.
- Ambiguously Evil: It's not clear what exactly Dr. Declan's motives are and what's going on inside his science compound. He is apparently manipulated by Maximus under a false alias.
- Big Damn Heroes: Louise and Medusa show up and rescue Black Bolt right as he's about to be taken captive by Auran.
- Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Declan tells Maximus that they need Black Bolt alive to successfully harness his DNA samples.
- Comically Missing the Point: When the vet calls Crystal a princess, Crystal's response is confusion.Crystal: How did she know I am a princess?
Jake: Are you serious? - Dynamic Entry: Louise and Medusa come speeding into the scene with a stolen car to rescue Black Bolt from Auran and Mortis and Medusa promptly takes Mortis out with the door.
- Entitled Bitch: Both Medusa and Crystal really show off how bossy and demanding they can be due to their royal status.
- Fire-Forged Friends: Gorgon and the surfers. Medusa and Louise are starting to show signs of this, as well.
- Green-Eyed Monster: One of the drug dealers gets pretty jealous about Jen's affection towards Karnak.
- I Have Your Wife: Auran tries to bluff Black Bolt into coming with her with this. It doesn't work, as Medusa arrives on the scenes moments later.
- I'm Standing Right Here: The vet's reaction when Crystal belittles her abilities of treating Lockjaw towards her ex.
- Interspecies Romance: A relationship starts developing between Karnak (an Inhuman) and Jen (a regular human).
- It's All My Fault: Gorgon is really heartbroken about one of the Surfer Dudes dying for him.
- I Work Alone: Gorgon sends the rest of the surfers away after one of them died fighting Maximus' group, as they feel like family to him and he doesn't want to lose another.
- The Man Behind the Man: Maximus is revealed to be manipulating Dr. Declan.
- Mythology Gag: Karnak has, now that he is working alongside the narcotics farmers, changed from his royal uniform to his modern, more well known outfit◊, down to the tattered front ends of the open hoodie; later in the episode, after the beach, he even wears the hood up and looks very much like his comic counterpart.
- Never My Fault: Crystal doesn't even think about entertaining the thought that Lockjaws injuries are also partially their own fault by, y'know, teleporting right on a road.
- No Sympathy: Medusa is extremely unympathetic on Louise's story of how she lost her dad, despite losing her own parents.
- Oh, Crap!: Like Gorgon before him, Black Bolt becomes very unsettled when he sees Mortis.
- The Purge: Maximus lures the Genetic Council into a trap to dispose of them.
- Reunion Kiss: The minute Black Bolt and Medusa make eye contact, they run straight for each other, and engage in a very relieved kiss.
- Snark-to-Snark Combat: Louise's and Medusa's conversations throughout the entire episode essentially are this.
- Tragic Keepsake: The little toy rocket ship Louise keeps with her contains her father's ashes.
- Ungrateful Bastard: Medusa evidently just sees Louise as a means to an end and ditches her when she finds where Black Bolt's helicopter ended up without so much as a thank-you. Louise catches up to her and calls her out on it.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Louise chews out Medusa for acting like a huge Ungrateful Bastard despite everything she did for her.
