A woman is discovered dead in her still-running shower, having been left there several days earlier. The investigation leads to a counterfeit handbag ring operated by Asian immigrants. Hannah's discovery of Booth and Brennan's shared past leads to tension between her and Bones. Hodgins and Angela start to discuss their family's future.

Booth: ...There's an overlap. - Asian Speekee Engrish: Mama Liu, the owner of the Chinese Restaurant, speaks in a stereotypical Chinese accent. But it's shown to be an act to make her look less intimidating when she suddenly drops it when she learns Jenny was murdered.
- Big Fancy House: Paisley's apartment is very big and luxurious, and Angela is impressed by it when she and Hodgins are conducting their investigation. At the end of the episode, Hodgins reveals he bought it so they can raise their family in a nice neighborhood. And due to the whole "someone got murdered in the shower" thing, he got the place for at a very low price.
- Black Market: Mama Liu ran a counterfeit operation for Chanel purses, with Victim of the Week Jenny serving as the middle man between Paisley and Mama Liu.
- Conspicuous Consumption: When looking at Paisley's credit card info, Booth describes her as being an Olympic-level spender.
- Contrived Coincidence: A police squad shows up in the Chinese Restaurant to shut down its counterfeit operation just as Bones and Brennan are there to investigate it.
- Covered in Gunge: Booth, Brennan and Cam end accidentally gets sprayed with the gore-covered water that was stuck in the shower's drain when Hodgins unclogs it and it all comes out in a big jet.Brennan: Okay, we're covered in flesh and bone fragments. Scrape it all off into evidence bags. Be careful not to swallow.
- Deadly Bath: The Victim of the Week is found in her shower, having turned into a skeleton after being there for days with hot water pouring over her.
- Enhance Button: Angela manages to identify Inspector Anderson as Jenny's lover even though she's blocking his face in the video by using the reflections in the room and enhancing them until she can identify his face.
- My Girl Is a Slut: Paisley's boyfriend seems to enjoy the fact she Really Gets Around with other men, and has a Spy Cam put inside her room so he can watch it.
- Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Paisley Johnston is a rich party girl and she's found drinking and taking pills when Booth finally manages to track her down.
- Like a Daughter to Me: Mama Liu describes Jenny is like a daughter to her and is genuinely sorrowful when she finds out Jenny was killed. It was also reciprocated, as Jenny begged Inspector Anderson not to rest Mama Liu, which ultimately led to him murdering her.
- Noodle Incident: The newly-personable Edison refusing to talk about what he did while working for the NSA. Naturally, this drives conspiracy-buff Hodgins nuts.
- Rich Bitch: Paisley is a rich and vain party girl that is not very pleasant and doesn't show an ounce of sympathy about Jenny being murdered in her shower.
- Shower of Love: Attempted. The episode starts with a man coming into Paisley's apartment and trying to join her in the shower, but when he does he finds a decomposed body in there instead. It's later revealed she was having a romantic shower with Inspector Anderson when he murdered her, and he was in such a panic he didn't even think to turn off the water.
- Spy Cam: Paisley's boyfriend put a hidden camera in the teddy bear on her room so he could watch her having sex with other guys. She knew about it, but pretended she didn't. Booth and Sweets are forced to watch it to look for evidence, not that they seem to mind it.
- A Threesome Is Hot: A guy at the bar tries to get Brennan and Hannah into one at the end of the episode — they tell him to get lost.
- Toplessness from the Back: The only content in the Spy Cam sex tape the audience sees is a bare back shot of Jenny having sex with her murderer, who can't be identified since she's on top of him.
- Treadmill Trauma: Played for Laughs. When Sweets pisses off Booth by suggesting he still has feelings for Brennan, Booth turns up the speed of the treadmill Sweets is on and somehow locks Sweets' ability to slow it down before walking away, leaving a panicked Sweets stuck there running.
- Villain of the Week: Investigator Eric Anderson was sleeping with his informant Jenny, and when she asked him to arrest Paisley instead of Mama Liu or she'd tell his boss there were sleeping together, he panicked and killed her.
