Finn and Jake disguise themselves as MOs to infiltrate the MO factory and save BMO.
Tropes
- Absurdly Dedicated Worker: All the surface MOs are continuing to fulfil their functions despite the factory being long derelict.
- Brown Note: BMO's software contains a .sys file titled "controls.brownnote.sys."
- Comic-Book Fantasy Casting: It was acknowleged in interviews that Moe is based on Jamie Farr.
- Continuity Nod: CMO from "Puhoy" reappears as Moe's assistant.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?:
- The "head rush" BMO gets from deleting random files from his memory looks like a metaphor for recreational drug use.
- When BMO accesses an SMO's files, it looks as if something sexual is going on.
- Donut Mess with a Cop: The SMOs are seen "eating" donuts in their rec room.
- For the Lulz: Why BMO deleted his important files in the first place.
- Freeze-Frame Bonus: Some of the filenames on BMO's screen at the beginning.
- Idiot Ball: The whole mess could've been avoided if BMO didn't delete his core files for no reason.
- Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy: Lampshaded by one of the MO guards on how easily their shots could be dodged.
- Last of His Kind: Subverted, it turns out BMO has a lot of fellow MO relations.
- Luke, I Am Your Father: Moe is BMO's creator, and therefore father.
- Non-Standard Character Design: Moe is the first genuinely human character with a nose, which contrasts with The Noseless inhabitants of Ooo.
- No One Could Survive That!: Lampshaded. The MO guard leader believes this, while one of the guards is more aware about the possibility of Finn and Jake surviving.
- Poor Communication Kills: All the violence could have been averted if BMO had introduced himself from the start.
- Porky Pig Pronunciation: Due to his hard-drive lacking core data, BMO talks like he's glitching which he actually is.
- Ray Gun: The MO guards use these, but their aim is so bad that one of them is actually aware that Finn and Jake might've survived the shots.
- Really 700 Years Old: Moe has lived since before the nuclear holocaust, though it's through cybernetic surgery.
- The episode also implies that BMO has existed since before the War.
- Rollercoaster Mine: The tram chase is done in this style.
- Shout-Out:
- Inside BMO appear to be a model heart, a diploma and a medal, which are the things the Wizard gives the Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Lion at the end of The Wizard of Oz.
- BMO's comment about memories vanishing like "tears in the oven" is a misquotation from Blade Runner.
- Stealth Pun: When Finn tucks his arm in his shirt and wears BMO as a face to pass as another MO-robot, BMO tells him "Finn, you da man". However, he glitches at "You da m—-", which makes it sound an awful lot like he's saying "Finn, you dumb" three times in a row.
- Title Drop: Moe built BMO "to be more".
- Transhuman: The creator of the M Os is this. When asked by Finn if he is human, he replies that his skin is human and given how there are M Os on him acting as life-support, he is most likely a cyborg.
- Underground City: Moe and most of his creations are living happily in a huge bunker under the derelict factory.
